When the Russian army invaded Ukraine last week, Putin claimed it was in the name of “denazification,” evoking the important role “anti-fascism” plays in the ideology of the Russian state. In the following text, published in Liaisons’ first book In the Name of the People a friend from the region offers an account of revolutionaries involved in the 2014 Maidan uprising in Ukraine, along with considerations about the particular history of Russian “anti-fascism.”

Following up our zine about Ukraine, we've prepared a zine collecting statements from Russian anarchists opposing the invasion of Ukraine, exploring its repercussions in Russia and arguing for international solidarity.

"Whether Russians decide to support this invasion at great cost to themselves—or to oppose Putin at great risk to themselves—may determine what happens in Ukraine. We owe it to the Russians who are protesting to learn how they see the invasion and what it means for their lives."

"Hours before Quebec announced the reinstatement of a provincewide curfew in December, which began the next day, emails obtained by Radio-Canada reveal the province's head of public health was still looking for studies to justify the decision."
"1) What are the studies? 2) What is being done elsewhere?"
"On the INSPQ side, we don't have an existing analysis that specifically addresses the curfew and we are unfortunately unable to produce one today with such short notice," he wrote in an email."

Forwarded from OTAS: operational thinking against the state

This PDF contains the bulk of the works of one of the most important war theorists in living memory, John Boyd.
Not only did he revolutionize air combat, invent tools like the OODA loop, and bring together ancient war wisdom and contemporary operational thinking, but his focus on fighting without conventional command structures, the social base of guerrilla war, and the ways a smaller force can defeat a larger more mighty one make his writing full of useful ideas for those coming up against the formal enforcers of the ruling order.
He pulls wisdom from past and present that provide insight that is useful even beyond the battlespace and applicable to innumerable scenarios.
