"Quick report on the freedom convoys movement in France:
First, the movement is nothing like the one in Canada. Fascist elements are in the extreme minority, even though they are very actively trying to take over the movement. In the convoys, it is a heterogeneous crowd of precarious people, living in small and medium-sized towns, the "peripheral France". It looks a lot like some kind of barbarians or diehards who want to invade the metropolises. The claims go beyond the criticism of the health management: increase of the wages, revolt against the expensive life and the inflation, respect of the old people who end up in old people's home, solidarity etc. The method of the convoys is a new formidable technique. It offers new possibilities of meeting on a much larger scale than the demonstration. The times of rest are moments of intense "direct democracy" where people exchange on the movement and the directions to give it. In parallel, people try to coordinate themselves via telegram channels by convoys and by regions. All this without any traditional organization. Even if the movement does not have the intensity of the Yellow Vests in terms of violent rupture, something very interesting is happening. We are witnessing the rebirth of nomadic war machines!"
