🚶 Stride v1.0.10 — Looking Glass is out!

This one is all about accurate counts, plus the biggest visual update yet (v1.0.9 never went out on GitHub, so you get both at once).

🎯 More accurate steps
• Watch first: wear a watch or band? Stride now counts from it on days it syncs, and from your phone's own counter otherwise. The two are never added together any more, so no more doubled walks.
• Bus, car and auto rides filtered properly: Accurate step filtering now works with Health Connect too, and catches steps the phone delivers late with the screen off.
• Tested side by side with a CMF watch: Stride matched the watch exactly ✅

✨ New look
• Liquid glass nav bar, and glass cards for Classic and Verdant (Premium)
• 6 app icons to choose from
• Rolling numbers, badge celebrations, bouncy scrolling
• Height in ft/in, weight in lb
• Widgets now use Stride's fonts
• Live Updates show your step count

After updating, check Settings → Step source shows Automatic (the new default). If you picked a source by hand before, it's kept.

The GitHub APK will update your existing Stride installation in place, so your:

• Settings

• Premium status should stay intact.

💔 A rough update about Stride

I messed up. Badly.

I accidentally deleted the source code for several of my major projects, including Stride, and I’ve lost a huge amount of the work and project data with it.

I spent several hours trying to recover everything, tried different recovery methods, and even left my PC running overnight hoping something could be restored.

Nothing came back.

That honestly made it hit even harder.

I still don’t fully know how I’m going to rebuild Stride yet. I was hoping to ship the next update this week, but that’s almost certainly not happening now. I’m trying to recreate everything from notes, screenshots, old builds, and whatever I still remember, but rebuilding it from scratch could take days or longer.

There’s also another issue: I still remember the signing key details, but I may have lost the actual key file.

If that file is really gone, there’s a possibility the rebuilt Stride won’t be able to update over the current version. In the worst case, the next build may need to be installed as a fresh app, which could mean uninstalling the current Stride and reinstalling the rebuilt version.

I’ll do everything I can to avoid that. I really don’t want anyone to lose their setup, history, or have to reinstall unnecessarily, but right now I have to be honest that it’s still a possibility.

And since I’m rebuilding so much from memory, the next update may also look or behave a little different from the Stride you’re using right now.

I’m frustrated, exhausted, and honestly pretty sad about all of this.

But I’m not giving up on Stride.

Please bear with me while I try to figure this out, and seriously, thank you for all the support. It means a lot right now. 💚

😮‍💨 Good news — Stride is basically back.

After hours of failed recovery attempts, rebuilding, comparing old versions, decompiling the latest APK, and questioning every life decision I’ve ever made… I ended up buying Claude, and Claude Fable 5 helped me rebuild around 99.5% of the project using my notes, logs, the old v1.0.4 source, and the APK.

Seriously, Claude is awesome. 😭🔥

The main thing still lost is the Google Play signing key, so I may have to figure out the Play Store side again.

The rebuild might not be a perfect 1:1 copy, so if you notice anything different, missing, or behaving strangely, please tell me.

After thinking everything was gone, I’m just insanely relieved right now. 💚
