We've all heard that things aren't built like they used to be.  Looking at modern man's model of quick, fast, and in a hurry it's no surprise that quality in so many things has disappeared.

Quality in material things has been replaced by whatever is cheap and good enough to do the job just long enough for someone to get paid.  Quality in people has been reduced to a stupored shell that does just enough to provide for carnal worldly desires bouncing around to whatever feels good at the moment.

Be different.  Take the time to build a lasting mark during your life.  Build your faith, yourself, your family... Built to last.  It won't be fast.  It will be a struggle.  It will be built on a strong foundation through all of it.

When you're old you'll either lay there alone or you'll look around at everything with a smile on your face.  A life well lived.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recommends healthy adults spend roughly 20 minutes a day doing moderate intensity exercise and at least two days per week doing muscle strengthening activities.  We can and should do more.

Current policies are a complete backtrack from the 1960's when JFK fat shamed the entire country.  The predictions that he made about the future of health are going right on track.

When JFK wrote 'The Soft American' he couldn't imagine how soft people would really become.  Towards the end of 2022 four in ten American adults were found to be obese, and obesity rates continue to climb.  Obesity statistics and what they decide is unhealthy likely puts a very dim light on this picture.

If the people in power wanted us to be healthy, they would fight for it.
One of the greatest things a father can do for his children is to love their mother.  "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.".  Through love, respect, and sacrifice, you teach your children how a relationship is supposed to be, and what to look for in their own.

Every father should remember one day his son will follow his example, not his advice.  None of us are born with what it takes to be a father.  But when the time comes, we all know deep down what needs to be done.  The things my boys have picked up on from me both surprise, and scare me.  Be consistent.

Until you have a son of your own... you will never know the joy beyond joy, the love beyond feeling that resonates in the heart of a father as he looks upon his son. You will never know the sense of honor that makes a man want to be more than he is and to pass something good and hopeful into the hands of his son.
Sugar lowers testosterone

Testosterone levels dramatically decrease almost immediately after sugar consumption due to the rapid release of insulin in the body.  Studies in 2018 and 2013 showed abrupt drops of total and free testosterone after eating processed sugars.

Sugar weakens your immune system

White blood cells need vitamin C to destroy harmful bacteria and neutralise free radicals. The problem is that sugar and vitamin C have a very similar chemical structure and compete for space in white blood cells. The more sugar you eat, the less vitamin C has access to your white blood cells, resulting in lowered ability to fight off bacteria and viruses.

Sugar damages your liver

You don’t have to be an alcoholic to suffer from self-inflicted liver damage. Too much fructose in your diet will affect your liver in a similar way as alcohol. It causes a fatty build-up that can develop in to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and insulin resistance.

Are those cheat day sodas and candy really worth it?

Easy decisions, hard life. Hard decisions, easy life. Do not avail yourself of half measures.

Hard work and self-discipline pay off in the long run. Do not be afraid to make uncomfortable, frightening or bold life choices.

Don’t look for shortcuts in your life.
Don't explain yourself and make excuses for things you should be doing.  You are a physical representation of your beliefs.
Current culture downplays and trys to flat out remove traditional men from society.  Fatherless homes have been a disaster for  people across the world.  They...  benefit from broken families and broken men.

The Grant Study, the longest study ever done on the lives of men found that a man’s father influenced his life in many ways exclusive to his relationship with his mother.

It β€œwas not the men with poor mothering but the ones with poor fathering who were significantly more likely to have poor marriages over their lifetimes.” Men who lacked a positive relationship with their fathers were also β€œmuch more likely to call themselves pessimists and to report having trouble forming close relationships”

If there was ever any doubt, fathers matter, a lot: When all is said and done, a man’s relationship with his father very significantly predicted his overall life satisfaction at age 75

β€œa variable not even suggestively associated with the maternal relationship

We all have the choice to work out or not, but there is one workout that is not voluntary. Some of you are in the midst of it now; others have been recently and the rest of you will eventually be. That workout is better known as suffering.

The Apostle Paul knew a lot about hardships and sufferings.  Check out the beginning of the fifth chapter from his letter to the Romans.   He explains this.  Even though we are good with God because of Jesus, it doesn’t mean that everything in life will be easy or pain-free.

God uses our suffering to bring about our good. God takes the pain of suffering and develops our forgotten muscles of perseverance, character and hope.

Suffering is spiritual exercise.  It's hard to lift weights.  But those challenging physical activities are what eventually makes our muscles strong while building endurance and stamina.

We are all called to struggle.
