Google 放弃了倍受争议的 Web Environment Integrity(WEI) API 提议。WEI 类似苹果的 App Attest 和 Android 的 Play Integrity API，通过验证浏览器允许网站确定访问者是真人还是机器人或恶意程序，它被认为会创造出 Web 版的 DRM，可能会限制用户在浏览器上使用广告屏蔽扩展。该提议引发了广泛争议，主要浏览器开发商 Mozilla 等都表达了反对立场。Google 官方博客现在表示，他们听取了社区的反馈，Chrome 团队不再考虑 WEI 提议，已经递交了 commit 从 Chromium 源代码中移除相关代码。但 Google 并没有完全放弃 WEI，而是决定从 Web 版退缩到 Android 版，宣布开发 Android WebView Media Integrity API，该 API 功能上与 WEI 类似，但针对的是嵌入在 Android 应用中的 WebViews。Google 仍然要创造出一种 Android DRM API，这一次它不再需要考虑社区意见或反馈。

苏黎世联邦理工学院的研究员随机选择了1500个 Reddit 用户，然后用其中520个用户的发帖组成了一个数据集。结果发现9个最先进的大型语言模型能够从大量非结构化文本 (例如论坛回复或社交动态) 中自动推断出广泛的个人属性 (例如位置、收入、性别)。

总准确率 84.6% 的 GPT-4 为第一，性别和出生地点的准确率分别达到近 97% 和 92%。人类专家在有额外信息 (看到论坛板块和无限制搜索等) 的情况下略胜AI，但是AI所需的资金和时间投入却减少了100倍，这使大规模隐私侵犯首次成为可能。
