If one would betray Christ for less than thirty pieces of silver, what then would stop them betraying you over so little?

One mortal sin is enough to send a soul to hell - one holy and humble confession is enough to make a saint.

What then, of Catholics who are respecters of persons, and do not look at the fruits of others - whether blossoming or rotten - yet keep company in undue familiarity with the unrepentant, or sowers of discord, out of convenience, or habit?

Is your reputation, your appearance, your proclivity for social acceptance comparable to one drop of Christ's Precious Blood?

Why then ought we persist in weak niceties, deceive with our tongues, keep company with adulterers, fornicaters, liars, idolaters, murmurers, lovers of self - haters of Truth - and enable their sin in our silent consent? Why then is fraternal correction so difficult for those who claim to love God so much?

St Pius X was right - all the evils in the world truly come about from the tepidity of Catholics.

We tolerate the sinner - to a degree! Yet never the sin. If we do not fight, we will perish.

I shall not be counted among the cowardly. God wills it.

I caught a lot of flack this past week for posting about the Saints in Heaven. Numerous people showed up very upset with me.

“Stop praying to the dead!”

“You’re praying to dead people which is a sin.”

And when I asked if they believed if the Saints in Heaven are alive in Christ, they didn’t really answer the question or they said, “Yes, I do, but I don’t have any formal relationship with them.”

This is a fundamental tenet in Christianity—that those in Heaven are alive in Christ. Yes, their earthly life is dead and their body, at least until the Second Coming is dead, but their souls are not dead.

To deny this reality is to deny the power of God and that Christ opened up the gates of Heaven for us so that we may live with Him in Heaven. Christ says in our Gospel reading today when asked about Heaven, “God is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to Him all are alive.” Luke 20:38

Why couldn’t or wouldn’t I have a relationship with the Saints in Heaven? I have relationships with believers here on earth and ask for their prayers. Why not the Triumphant in Heaven? I’ve never had anyone sufficiently answer me as to why God would cut us off from on another?

God is all-powerful, why wouldn’t He allow for the Saints in Heaven to pray for us? In Heaven, we will be perfected and won’t have the limitations we have here on Earth. To say that people here on earth can offer prayers but those in Heaven can’t, is to give more abilities to those here on Earth. In Heaven, shouldn’t we be even more attuned to the needs and intentions of people who are still fighting the good fight here?

Jesus shows us today that things will most definitely be different in Heaven. What exactly that looks like is not completely clear, but we do know that we will love perfectly, be utterly aligned with God’s Will, and will not be as limited as we were on Earth. I can’t imagine that we would stop interceding for our loved ones below and just never have anything to do with them. In fact, that makes no sense since our love will be perfected.

The Body of Christ is a supernatural mystery full of beauty and wonder, Catholic Pilgrims. Bodies work best when everything is harmony; the Body of Christ is no different.
