Hedging
It is a strategy used to protect your investments against risks
It can act like an insurance for your investments.
It works by making a second investment (hedge) that moves in the opposite direction of your primary investment.
If the primary investment loses value, the hedge can help reduce your losses.
This strategy limits your risk, but it also might reduce your potential for a large profit.
Hedging can be done through different financial instruments like futures and options.

Dividend Payout Ratio
It shows how much of a companyβs profit is given to shareholders as dividends
Based on the profits a company earns, it may give dividends to its shareholders. The percentage of profit paid as dividends is called the dividend payout ratio.
Dividend payout ratio = (dividends paid Γ· profit) x 100
Example: a company earns Rs 1,000 and out of that, pays Rs 300 as dividends. The dividend payout ratio will be 30% β meaning 30% of the profit went to shareholders as dividends. The rest was kept for growth, R&D, or other uses.

Maha Ashtami, celebrated on September 30, 2025, is a highly significant day during Navratri, dedicated to Goddess Mahagauri, the eighth form of Goddess Durga.
Mahagauri represents purity, peace, and forgiveness, radiating serenity with her white attire.
Devotees worship her to seek blessings for cleansing sins, attaining inner calm, and achieving spiritual growth.
Key rituals include Kanya Pujan, where young girls are revered as manifestations of divine feminine energy, and Sandhi Puja, performed at the transition between Ashtami and Navami.
The day is marked by intense devotion, recitation of Durga Saptashati, and offerings to invoke the goddessβs grace for wisdom and prosperity.
May Maa Mahagauri shower you with purity, peace, and strength on this sacred Maha Ashtami!

Unicorn
It is a startup valued at $1 billion or more
The term was first used because such companies were considered as rare as the mythical creature.
Examples: Flipkart, Paytm, and OYO before they got listed.
They are usually young tech-driven companies that grow very fast and attract huge investor funding.
But not all stay successful β many find it hard to make profits even with high valuations.
They are high-risk, high-reward businesses.
