Butter cinnamon pan fried toast
My bread’s expiring so I had to think of ways to finish it + quick to prepare in the morning. I used 4 slices of bread (for my friend and I) and it took me about 10 mins to make this. Ingredients I used were butter, cinnamon, white sugar.
👩🏻🍳 For a healthier option, consider using trans fat free margarine instead of butter. Butter is high in saturated fats and taking too much of it is not good for our heart health.
👩🏻🍳 For extra protein you can consider adding nut butter and sprinkling it with some nuts too for extra crunch (but note that this means extra calories).
👩🏻🍳 Remember to use whole grains as much as possible, they are higher in fibre and other nutrients compared to refined grains (eg white bread).

Chilli oil garlic shaved noodles
This is one of my favourite, super easy, and delicious meals I like to make. It only takes 10 minutes (if I didn’t cook shrimps)!
👩🏻🍳 I’ve tried using white vinegar and black vinegar before, both are okay but using black vinegar is still the traditional way.
👩🏻🍳 I guess something I would have done differently if I were less lazy is to grind my Sichuan peppercorns and cook it with both grounded and whole Sichuan peppercorns. That would definitely have added to that 麻 mouthfeel.
👩🏻🍳 I added extra (sunflower oil) in hopes to hear the sizzling sound when I pour the hot oil into my noodles but there was no sound 😂 Adding extra oil or no oil has no difference of taste to me, but watch out for the extra calories.
👩🏻🍳 Watch your sodium intake, this dish uses a lot of light soy sauce. 1 tbsp of light soy sauce is 1126mg sodium (our daily limit is 2000mg). Sodium sources from this dish also comes from your 老干妈 sauce (~1 tbsp = 554mg)
(Recipe and more tips in the comments)

I am using this noodle brand! First time trying this and I love it so much. I have tried so many of these kinds of noodles and this is the best one to me by far. 😋 I’ve also attached the NIP for this noodles in case anyone is interested to find out about this noodle. I can’t remember how much I bought it for, but I think it’s around $3-4?
If you haven’t tried making chilli oil noodles you should most definitely do it, I remember once making this noodles when I had a 30 mins lunch break in between my lecture. Cooked, washed, and was on time for class 💅🏻

Breakfast Platter Set
[tele saw this first!]
A big breakfast for a big boy. Smaller one for a small girl. Made these plates within 45 minutes.
I first cooked the bacon to get some oil supply. I then cooked the sausage, as well as the mushroom with the bacon fats. I next cooked scrambled eggs using the leftover bacon fats. No added salt added for the mushrooms and eggs cuz the bacon and sausage were salty enough 🥵
I then cooked the pancakes and hash browns at the same time so that it’ll still be hot when served. Pancakes were so light and fluffy!
I tried to balance things by including mesclun, cherry tomatoes, and tangerines. They also enhanced the overall visual appeal of the dish. 🌈
My boyfriend was so happy, so was I seeing him happily eating 🥰

Say hello to my newly harvested basil leaves! This is my second major harvest :) I love my basil so much and I encourage you to grow your own cuz 1. It’s so easy 2. It’s therapeutic 3. You save $$ for basil. I’m using it to make tomato salsa to bring to work tomorrow.
Tomato salsa is such a healthy and yummy snack. If you hate tomatoes, try this and I think your bad impression of tomatoes might change for the better (attested by one of my good friends).
It’s a simple low kcal snack but soooo addictive.
I don’t have a fixed recipe but feel free to play around with these ingredients:
- tomatoes, diced
- onions, diced
- garlic, minced
- lots of fresh sweet basil (preferred)/dried basil flakes
- olive oil
- balsamic vinegar
- some salt
👩🏻🍳 Eat with it Meiji cream crackers for that extra crunch! I like to put diced mangoes in for the sweet tangy taste to this savoury and tart side dish.

I’m so grateful to be able to make this for people! Truly loving up to the bio of this cooking channel 🤣
Oh! I also garnished it with my freshly harvested basil 🌱
To those who have eaten it today, I hope you guys like it ❤️ Till I make this again and feed y’all hehe

Strawberry Matcha Cheesecake Oats
Now that I’m in clinicals, it is quite hard to find time to cook/make foods. Work has been a rollercoaster of emotions. Nevertheless, I try to squeeze in some time to make myself a simple and yummy breakfast to bring to work! It’s one of my self-care routines I enjoying doing as a wind-down activity before sleeping. And I feel happy and powered eating something nutritiously yummy to start my day.
Anyways more about my food: it sounds really fancy but it’s so easy to prepare this. All you need to do is soak your oats with milk overnight, add your preferred chopped fruits, and whisk cream cheese+sugar until you get the sweetness that you like. I mixed in some matcha powder to my cream cheese too so there’s a nice balance of sweet, sour, and bitter (just a very slight bit). I also top it up with matcha spread (if you’re reading this, thanks nic) and sprinkled it with some white choc chips.
I usually have this around 8am, and it keeps me satiated until 2pm. Oats are amazing.

Aglio Olio w/ Chicken & Ham
Don’t let any Italians see this or they will 🤌🏻 me
Got home around 8pm but I was determined to cook for lunch tomorrow though I felt (still am feeling a bit) defeated. I’ve packed them into 3 boxes: 1 for me (with cute fruits), 1 for my mummy, 1 for my friend!
Super quick to whip - just required some prep time to chop things up. In it: broccoli, cherry tomatoes, freshly harvested basil (can’t wait to show u guys how much it is thriving), marinated chicken thigh, ham, shimeiji mushrooms, chilli padi, garlic and onions. Finished cooking around 9pm. I also made another flavoured oats for my breakfast tomorrow. Dead tired (I was still in my scrubs 💀) but I’m tiredly happy.
Self-care component check! ✅ (and that’s a win for me today)
So thankful my daddy offered to help me wash up the crockeries and cutleries. Now I have showered, am clean, comfortable and ready to do work. Can’t wait for breakfast and lunch tomorrow! 😋 sending everyone lots of hugs and positivity for tomorrow 🥰

Truffle Tomato Pasta with Ice Cream Mangoes & Shrimps
I just finished cooking! Took me about an hour to prep+cook+wash. This will be my lunch for tomorrow and Fri, and my papa’s dinner today :) I popped by the supermarket to get veggies cuz they were running low at home and I saw this beautifully cut ice cream mangoes being sold at only $2 - I immediately took one haha. Btw the mangoes were so sweet. Yet another small win today.
I was actually inspired by a book I’m currently reading, ‘The Medici Effect’ by Frans Johansson. The entire book is on how to spur innovation and creativity. The current page I’m reading states: “chains of associations inhibit our ability to think broadly - we jump to conclusions faster and create barriers to alternate ways of thinking about a particular situation.”
So today, I felt like doing something unconventional: to put some mangoes in the pasta 😛 Taste wise I guess it’s okay, pretty nice! Yes to extra texture (+ colours)! 💃🏻
P.s. papa helped to wash the remaining stuff 😭❤️
