Chicken Chop w black pepper sauce, aglio olio, and baked crispy potatoes

Selling this western set for $5 who want faster say now.

Anyways I love the mushroom black pepper sauce on the crispy, pan seared, juicy and thick slab of chicken thigh. The sauce is the main source of sodium for this dish. My aglio olio is usually saltier but I made it less salty because of the sauce. Carrots are boiled and potato wedges are freshly cut, seasoned with herbs and spices (no salt) and baked till they are super crispy.

🧑🏻‍🍳 tip: most sauces contain a lot of sodium (your daily limit is 1 tsp (2000 mg)). If you’re ordering outside, always try to ask for the sauce to be separated so you can control the amount you are eating. Mindful eating my friends!

Good PM everyone!

My food plating stuff finally came!!! Can’t wait to use them to plate my foods 🤩🤩

I got fries holder, baked/fried food holder, taco holder, potato cutter, ice trays, sauce holder, utensils, and vase

On today’s episode of asking men (or boys idk) functions of kitchenware:

👉🏻 ice tray: Angus said it was a lunchbox/takoyaki maker
👉🏻 potato cutter: dad said it was a comb 💀
👉🏻 taco holder: dad said it was a phone stand/item/plate stand, Angus said it was a mini clothes rack 🫥🫥🫥
👉🏻 fries holder: dad said it was an egg holder. I mean he’s not wrong, beauty blender holders look like this
👉🏻 flower vase: Angus said it is an alcohol vase..(?)??) well it could be if I wanted to 🧞‍♀️🧙🏻‍♀️

Boys being boys.

My dad also screamed at me bc there’s no more space to put all my stuff in the kitchen 😅 he (and my mom) should be glad i didn’t buy plates or bowls this time round though 💅🏻

Stay tuned to how I will use these stuff in my food photos 😘😘

Gochujang udon noodles

Backstory: I had this for the first time at a cafe with two of my friends and we instantly in love with it. We were intently tasting the food, our chins perched on our hands, frowning and analysing the ingredients behind this dish just by tasting it 🤔. I wish I was this serious whenever I’m doing work.

Good news: we did it and I have made this so many times and never went back to the cafe ever since I learned to make this.

This one is so yummy, even my bro who is a picky eater went two rounds at this. If your future mother/father-in-law likes spicy/Korean food, consider making them this dish and they will definitely ask their son/daughter to marry you. Plus this dish can be made in 30 mins. Try to make it and who knows maybe u can create ur own cafe and earn big $$ too. Don’t forget me when u become successful.

Recipe is in the discussion section cuz of the limited word count. Nutrition tips are also given on how to make this healthier! 👩🏻‍🍳

Avocado scrambled egg toast

1 slice sourdough (bought; I like it toasted), 1 scrambled eggs and 1/2 avocado - this combo will never go wrong. Sprinkle with some salt and black pepper and you’re ready to call this a “Mini Breakfast” and sell it at $8.90. Put some hotdogs (don’t recommend) + mesclun salad + mushrooms and tomatoes and sell it as “Big Deluxe Breakfast” at $19.90.

👩🏻‍🍳 I know I always remind everyone to eat 2 servings of fruits a day. However, we have to remember that not all fruits are made equal. For instance, avocado is a fruit but it is high in (good) fat. If your goal is to lose/maintain weight, you might want to consider fruits that are lower in fat (apples, berries etc), or if not, watch your portion size: don’t finish a whole avocado in a setting.

Kimchi Jiggae

This is a throwback pic and looking at this now is making me crave for it so bad 😩 I want to eat this soon again.

I followed this recipe with some tweaks: https://mykoreankitchen.com/kimchi-jjigae/

👩🏻‍🍳 used lean pork instead of pork belly
👩🏻‍🍳 instead of water, I used anchovy stock. But I used a smaller amount anchovy stock cube and more kimchi to compensate (did not use soy sauce). Also, for soup dishes, avoid drinking all the soup (see sodium content below).
👩🏻‍🍳 you can’t make this dish without gochujang, so I guess start low first and slowly add more while tailoring to your taste preferences.
👩🏻‍🍳 added a whole load of veggies to get dat xTra fibre!

While my portion is definitely smaller than the one you find outside, this is the NIP for the average Korean Jiggae outside:

GARLIC HUMMUS

I finally made hummus after procrastinating for 3 years. I have repeatedly bought canned chickpeas to motivate myself to make it but they all end up getting expired. I fell in love with hummus for the first time when I was in Oman back in 2018 - I was so inspired to make my own hummus!

Funnily enough just right before making this hummus I choked on a piece of long bean during lunch. I thought I was gonna die lol, I was crying 🥹 That piece of green thing was dangling at the back of my throat, triggering my gag reflex so bad that I threw up (thankfully just the vegetable). My throat hurts so bad even till now, I didn’t dare to eat my lunch afterwards, so this creamy hummus really saved me from my hunger. To my fellow dietetics friends, this is a perfect IDDSI level 4 dish on its own😶

I had so much fun flipping the breads. I used my homegrown basil (v proud plant mom) and made extra so im giving some to my new neighbour and my friends. I hope they like it!
