As you may have noticed, the Russian language can be strange and confusing. Here are a few examples when we add negation to a phrase, and it doesn't change the meaning!🤨🤨🤨

1. Не знаю ничего (ne znàyu nichegò)
Знаю ничего (znàyu nichegò)

These phrases mean the same thing and are translated as - I know nothing

2. Не видел ни разу (ne vìdel ni ràzu)
Видел ни разу (vìdel ni ràzu)

Similarly, the meanings are the same - l've never seen.

3. My favorite phrase is:
Чайник долго не остывает (chàynik dòlgo ne ostyvàyet)
Чайник долго остывает (chàynik dòlgo ostyvàyet)

They are translated as - The kettle cools down for a long time

Let's consider the following differences between the English and Russian languages🙂🙂🙂

In Russian, "привет" and "здравствуйте" - both are greetings, in English they are translated as "hello" but they have different levels of formality and are used in different situations:

1. "Привет" (privèt) - is a more informal greeting, which is most often used among friends, relatives, or colleagues. This word is suitable for informal communication and usually expresses friendliness and closeness of relationships.

2. "Здравствуйте" (zdràvstvuyte) - is a more formal greeting, which is usually used when meeting someone for the first time, in official situations, with unfamiliar people, or with older people. This word expresses respect and politeness.

Also, depending on the time of day, you can replace "здравствуйте" with the following phrases:

Добрый день (dòbryy den) - Good afternoon

Добрый вечер (dòbryy vècher) - Good evening

These two examples are also respectful greetings, and only the phrase "Доброе утро" (dòbroye ùtro) - Good morning - is universal and can be used with anyone😁😁😁

In the Russian language, there is an interesting way to remember all the colors of the rainbow🌈🌈🌈

Let's look at the phrase: "Каждый охотник желает знать, где сидит фазан" (kàzhdyy okhòtnik zhelàyet znat gde sidìt fazàn) - Every hunter wants to know where the pheasant sits

Let's look at interrogative sentences in the Russian language and their difference from English.

In the English language, the word order in interrogative sentences is more strict, and often the use of auxiliary verbs is required to form questions.

Russian language is much simpler in this regard, because the word order in interrogative sentences is not so strictly fixed, you can change the order of words in different ways while maintaining the meaning of the question😇😇😇

Ты был сегодня в университете? (ty byl segòdnya v universitète) - Have you been to the university today?

Сегодня ты был в университете?

Был ты сегодня в университете?

All these permutations of words do not change the meaning of the question

Section: features of the Russian language.

Sometimes, when you say goodbye to a Russian person, you may hear "давáй"("daváy", this means let's).

The thing is, in Russian colloquial language, the word "давáй" means the same thing as "покá"("paká"; this means bye).

That's an interesting feature of the Russian language 🫰
