"Руки не доходят". What does it mean? 📌

The expression "руки не доходят" in Russian translates to "hands don't reach" in English.
It is used to convey that a person is too busy or preoccupied with other tasks to attend to something else at the moment. It implies that the person wants to do something but hasn't had the time or opportunity to do it yet. 💥

Example:
-Ты починил стул?
-Нет. Руки не доходят.

Translation:
-Did you fix the chair?
-No. Hands can't reach it.

Transcription:
-Ty pachiníl stul?
-Net. Rúki ne dakhódyat.

We will have an online live lesson on Wednesday!🔥

Through voting, we have determined that we will be covering formal/informal communication and idioms. However, many of you requested a Russian cartoon, so we have also decided to analyze it at the end of the lesson!
If you're not up to date, read yesterday's post😉

During the lesson, you will:
- Understand how to use and understand idioms in different situations
- Gain an understanding of how to speak correctly and with whom
- Listen to and analyze the speech of characters from the cartoon💥

We also invite you to vote for the lesson time. All times are in Moscow time!

Who can walk (ходить - khodít')?🚶‍♂️
Part 1.

In the Russian language, the word "идёт" is used not only when we talk about the action of living beings (for example, "человек идёт (chelovék idét)" - "a person walks") 😮

The word "идёт" (coming) can be used in the sense of "to be in action":
The clock is ticking - Часы идут (chasý idút)

The next meaning is "to fall", when talking about precipitation:
Snow is falling - Снег идёт (sneg idét)

The next meaning is "to approach":
Summer is approaching - Лето идёт (léta idét)

The next meaning is "to suit, to be becoming":
That dress suits her very well - Ей очень идёт это платье (ey óchen' idét éto plátye)

Learning Russian through incredible places in Russia.

Mount Bolshoy Bogdo, Astrakhan Oblast

How did a mountain, especially of such an unusual red color, appear in the endless Astrakhan steppe? This is due to the concentration of metals in its soil.

New words:

1) Steppe - Степь (Step')
2) Mountain - Гора (gará)
3) Metal - Металл (metál)
4) Soil - Почва (póchva)
