Лист(list) - it's not "list", it can be translated as "leaf" or "sheet"

Лунатик(lunàtik) - if someone called you that, don't get offended, the translation of this word is "sleepwalker", not "lunatic"

Section: peculiarities of the Russian language.

"Да нет" (Da net) - "Yes no"

- Ты любишь кофе (Do you like coffee?)
- Да нет (Yes no).

Such a dialogue is not uncommon among Russians. But what does "да нет"(yes no) mean?

"Да нет"(Yes no) is the same as "Нет"(No).

So, the dialogue above can be replaced with:

- Ты любишь кофе? (Do you like coffee?)
- Нет (No)

2) Verbs and prepositions: Some verbs and prepositions require a specific case after them, which can be confusing.

3) Use of cases: Correct use of cases in the Russian language is important for proper agreement of words in a sentence.

Why is the Russian language so difficult?

The problems can start right from learning the letters - the alphabet. But why is the Russian alphabet considered difficult?

Number of letters: The alphabet contains 33 letters, which is more than in Latin. Some of them are the same, but pronounced differently, for example "X" and "P".

Sounds: Some sounds in the Russian language are absent in other languages, making them difficult to pronounce and understand.

Why is the Russian language so difficult?

The Russian language has a complex system of stress. Why is it complex?

1. Each word has its own stress, and there is no general rule. And even if there is a rule for a certain group of words, there are many exceptions that need to be memorized.

2. There are words that are spelled the same but change meanings with different stresses, which can be confusing. For example, the word "зАмок" (castle) changes to "замОк" (lock) with a stress shift to the second syllable.

3. The same word in different forms can have stress on different parts. For example, "водА" (water), but "в вОду" (into the water).
