Without disclosing any names (you can find them on Upwork😂), I will start:

Of course, it was an Upwork client. The job was not an hourly type (I strongly suggest you guys to choose hourly contracts!). But, yeah, I accepted it.

The interview went well, figma and tasks were clear. Btw, to get this job, I coded a small part of the project and submitted it for review (to make sure I am the one to get hired🌝). You can always use this trick.

First few days went well: clear communication, timely delivery, we both were happy until...

So, no one asked "what happened in the meeting". Is it not interesting?😁😅

The meeting was 1-2hrs long😁

In short, I asked him what is happening and why he is disrespectful towards me, turns out, he rescheduled the meeting and he did not know that vercel link will auto update with new changes (even if I sent it at 7pm, it will have all changes from my latest push at 10pm).

After listening to him, I clarified the situation, explained him how vercel works, and him not giving any updates to me was his fault.

Then, also told about the things I wrote in the message before meeting: basically, I told him, I do not want to work if he is micromanaging and not appreciating my work at all.

He told me that he liked the way I worked & creative solutions I gave. So, he promised to not micro manage. And also he was sorry for his rude bahavior and agreed to give me small payment for every rude word he used.

I promised to be more active & to send more messages to keep him up-to date.

I also got a pay rise🌝
He learned to talk nicely to ladies🌚

There are many parts I cannot remeber since it happened a few months ago, but basically, that was the main point.

Today at swift launch, an incubator kind of thing for startups, I was reminded of the this “Action produces information. Just keep doing stuff” by Brain - Cofounder of Coinbase. Which might inderectly mean that information is as good as what action it led to. We discussed it with Abdukarim Kodirov Investment Director at Realsoft with cofouder of ArzonApteka which is very successful companies in Uzbek markets and most interesting is how they spent almost $0 for B2C marketing and reached to 2.5M people in uzb. So if you are unsure about what to do. Just start with the first thing you are thinking of building and you will figure out the next thing after that (Don’t ask how to get to that first thing 😅)
