Developer Rule Number 1:
"Never leave your laptop behind"
Last year, we went on a vocation abroad, and I felt so relieved to take a rest & left my laptop behind, thinking "it's time to forget work".
As you can guess "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong, and at the worst possible time" (Murphy's law). Surely, it did!
There was an issue on prod, and my manager was reaching out to me on day 1 of the tripπ₯² I had no laptop and no acess to the code and I was thousands of miles away from home.
I learned this lesson the hard way)
Again, "never leave your laptop behind" π»
