I wrote this article a while back in the hopes that this list would help to provide a framework for dealing with grief that alters our relationship with death in a way that puts honoring our needs and honoring our lost loved ones first.

Writing this was part of my soul searching process on how to connect in a healthy way with my grief.

I know that we are here to transmute the darkness we experience - pain into wisdom - so that we can help lead others toward the light, and I accept that this was an integral part of my own journey.

This post been making the rounds on Notes over again out of need - we all, as a human family, tend to deal with an amplification of grief renewed over holiday seasons.

I'll be exploring more in terms of thoughts that were spawned from conversations sparked by the last article. This is a strange rabbit hole - and very inspiring.

My intuition is telling me that we can all feel that we have been forcefully separated from our roots and it’s part of our soul resonance now. The nostalgia we feel for times we never experienced feels like a nudge to discover more about our history so that we can put the pieces back together. I get super emotional when I see what we’ve lost - and that’s the best explanation I have for my own pervasive anemoia. It's a BIG emotion. It's an emotion that has knocked me on my ass on multiple occasions while I was exploring ancient ruins. I don’t think I’d be experiencing that particular emotion as an indicator otherwise. It’s too strong and feels too important.

I feel like our souls are all imprinted with a need to rediscover the roots we have been violently separated from. We are encoded in this way with an emotional pull toward figuring that out. I think tapping into that stirs us in a way you can make feel cathartic so that we can find purpose in it while also expelling it. What we miss we ache for, but maybe we are programmed to miss it in order to show us a discrepancy between what is and what might have been or what used to be so that we will feel a drive to discover what has been lost and create those factors over again.
