I joined Brendan D. Murphy on his podcast Truthiverse to unpack the vortex of intrigue that is the world and mind of Elon Musk, including dramas revolving around the recent Twitter vs. Substack fiasco.

We discuss the possibility that Musk might not be trying to “free the public square,” but perhaps attempting to control it because there are other goals he has that would require him to have control over it, to utilize it as more of a means to an end. Balancing this with “public opinion” is secondary, especially when the public is so quick to memoryhole the past in favor of the current news cycle. Capturing social media platform properties is a mere fraction of the end goal, but it's the one that gets the most press because it's the one which overtly affects the most people in the present.
