We cannot save western civilization or save America with a vote, with a new candidate, or with a new political party in power. Step back and think about this for a moment. You really think that voting for someone else to govern you is going to make you more free? That’s nonsense. Being governed or ruled is the opposite of being free. You do not become free when different people are in power. You do not become free when you are governed by different people. You are free when you govern yourself. Freedom comes from self discipline. Freedom comes from self responsibility. Freedom does not come from a different candidate or a different party. They govern you because you consent. They govern you because you will not govern yourself. They rule over you because you feel you need to be ruled. They rule over you because you will not solve your own problems and look to a group of criminals called “government” to solve your problems for you. Freedom is yours. It’s already yours. But exercising it requires you to take charge of yourself and it may cost you your comfort.
