Phonetics is the study of the physical production, transmission, and perception of speech sounds.
It deals with the actual sounds (phones) themselves, how they are articulated (produced), and how they are heard.
Phonetics is primarily concerned with the physiological and acoustic properties of sounds, rather than their function in a particular language.
