Chapter 48
What is the falling action ?
It comes immediately after the climax it consists of a number of events in which some of the characters start rethinking and correcting their style of life exemplified when Emma becomes aware of what she had done with Harriet because she has made her think highly of herself now Harriet Smith looking forward to be with Mr. Knightley and now Emma is afraid of losing Mr. Knightley essentially after what she has done with Miss, Bates and this is one of the consequences of what Emma done with the other characters .

This is what Emma thinks to herself As we know before that Emma never thinks to marry because she is very attached to her father therefore this is a kind of consolation for her she is deceiving herself again she is actually so much attracted to Mr. Knightley and she thinks now of him as her future husband but she’s trying to justify the fact that she’s attached to her father that is why it would be better for her not to marry Mr.Knightley

Chapter 49

It said by Mr. Knightley to Emma about the relationship between Mr. Frank Churchill and Miss. Jane fairfax through this discussion Mr. Knightley wants to make sure that Emma has no affection towards Mr. Frank Churchill so that he can propose for Emma’s hand and to declare his love without any hindrance .

This is said by Mr. Knightley to Emma as a declaration of his love after he make sure that Emma has no affection towards Mr. Frank Churchill and this is one of the most critical moment in the development of the action in the novel

Chapter 5

Foreshadowing : it is when the writer gives a hints about the events that will happen later in the story.

“Of this great intimacy between Emma and Harriet Smith , but I think it a bad thing “
Mr. Knightly said these words, telling Mrs.weston (Ms.Taylor) that the relationship between Emma and Harriet is something drastic and will led to a serious consequences , because Emma considers Harriet as her” project “ and projecting her desires and needs into Harriet , and makes Harriet thinks that she is from a high class and her father may be a gentleman and forget about the fact that she is illegitimate daughter .


“She always declares she will never marry which of course, means just no thing at all “
This is said by Mrs. Weston to Mr. Knightly while they were discussing Emma’s actions , therefore Mrs. Weston tells Mr. Knightly that all the declarations of Emma’s not getting married is no thing at all because it is unthinkable for a girl has such merits not to think of having a husband but maybe she does not have some one who cared about her.

Situational irony : it is when the opposite of what is expected actually happens .
For example : Emma tries to convince Elton to be in love with Harriet and beautify her in his eyes and she thinks that he is also in love with her while Mr. Elton wants to be with Emma


“ The man is almost too gallant to be in love “
This is what Emma thinks to her self about Mr. Elton , although she knows that he is a bad and a gallant guy but she still Insistent to make him marry Harriet and pass over all his demerits to show off her abilities in match_making , her over concern in match _ making blinds her to the fact that she is devanged in her judgment about other people.

Chapter 8

“Not Harriet egual !! No he is not her equal he is as much her superior in sense as in situation “
This is said by Mr. Knightly when he was criticize Emma for her brainwashing to Harriet
She thinks that Martin is not suitable to Harriet because he is a farmer! While Knightly who knows Martin very well thinks that Harriet is the one who is not suitable for Martin and reprove Emma and tell her that her love for this girl blinds her because Harriet is l natural daughter while Martin has a respectable famaily and either of the nature and the education he is higher than her and he tells Emma that Harriet is gonna be better off without you interfering with her life.

“Upon my word Emma to hear you abusing the reason you have , is almost enough to make me think so too , better be without sense than misapply it as you do “
It is said by Mr. Knightly to Emma as a criticism to her for her brainwashing to Harriet to break her relationship with Martin because Emma thinks that he is unsuitable to her and tries to convince her to be with Elton . This is the harsher criticism that Emma receives from anybody.


Blindness
One of the major theme in the novel
The word blind occurs every now and then to remind the reader of this theme in the novel actually Emma is blinded by her imagination and her confidence and self importance she thinks that she is better than the others so this is insuppliance her .

Chapter 10 :
The state of the woman in the 19th century in England :
They were Marginalized waiting for someone to be the gentleman of their life this is for the fortune women while the unfortunate women they were either spending the rest of their life as a maid or if she has educated she might be a governess and neither of which good for women of sense

This is also a conversation between Emma and Harriet about the condition of women Harriet said that Emma will be an old maid , Emma answered her to never mind because what makes a woman Maiden is Poverty not the age and this is foreshadowing to the climax when Emma makes fun at Ms.Bates
Emma feel protective and save because she is a wealthy woman

Chapter 43 !!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is a Box Hill ?
It is a spot most of the couples and the major characters are going on a picnic to this place and there will happen the climax

There were kind of intimacy between Emma and Frank Churchill because they were flirting together excessively and this incident has a later consequences as far as Mr. Knightley is thinking of Emma is concedered about Mr.Churchill because of this incident and other incidents he thinks of a kind of relationship between Emma and Frank .

What is the significant of the word game like charades ?
It is one of the motifs in the novel actually the word game serve as a subtext kind of understatements some of the characters come to express their inner emotions through these words games
Examplified the conversation between Miss.Bates and Emma when Emma actually insults Miss.Bates , every one of the characters supposed to provide 3 dull things and Miss.Bates takes the initiative to take the competition and she thinks that it is very easy to mention 3 dull things Emma gives Miss.Bates earlier that she is not characterised with intelligence she is not clever person Emma here express her dislikeness towards Miss.Bates by her words that it is difficult for Miss.Bates to to count up until 3 , Emma makes use of the word gome to express her insidious intentions

As we all know that Mr.Knightley is the moral compass in Emma’s life and he will leads her to be a better person therefore he reproves Emma for her action towards Miss.Bates and how she insults her and for being slut with such a woman for her character ، age and situation and these words which Mr. Knightley said are so hard to digest
