If you are a confident and charismatic student from Qostanay, Zhezkazgan or Oskemen, also fluent in Kazakh and Russian, then grab your opportunity to shoot for a promotional video and invite natives from your city to the NU Open House Day.

Thank you for your enthusiasm and cooperation. We have found our video stars. Stay tuned for more campus opportunities and events.

📌Please note that any requests for withdrawal after this deadline that are not pre-approved will not be processed. Therefore, it is crucial to ensure that all necessary approvals are obtained before the deadline.

Dear students,

The Department of Languages, Linguistics and Literature has approved new major declaration requirements effective from the Fall 2024:

• Students who wish to declare a major in the Department of Languages, Linguistics and Literature need to have completed at least one WLL or LING course with a grade of “B-” or higher. Grades in foreign language courses do not satisfy this requirement.

• Students who are in their third year of study and wish to transfer into the Department of Languages, Linguistics, and Literature are accepted into the major on a case-by-case basis, conditional on an audit of their path towards graduation. To be considered for transfer, students need to have (1) completed at least two LING or WLL coded classes with a minimum grade of B-, at least one of which must be at the 200 level or higher, and (2) have a GPA of not less than 2.75.

• Students who have already declared a major at the Department of Languages, Linguistics and Literature are expected to register for classes that will ensure they are making adequate degree progress.

Please consider these changes and plan your studies accordingly.
Dear Students,

Please be informed of the following changes to be effective from May 13 at 15.30 (effective time):

Note1: Once capacity is raised, the students on the waitlist will be automatically added first!
Note2: During the admin's implementation of changes, the courses below will become temporarily unavailable for registration. Registration resumes from the effective time.
Note3: If students want any schedule changes (cap raise, rescheduling, etc.), then please address your requests and concerns directly to the School owning the course. Final decision is initiated and approved by the School.
