👉1954 से हर साल गणतंत्र दिवस के मौके पर इनकी घोषणा की जाती है.
👉केंद्र सरकार 1954 से भारत रत्न और पद्म विभूषण पुरस्कार दे रही है.
👉ये पुरस्कार कला, साहित्य, शिक्षा, खेल-कूद, चिकित्सा, समाज सेवा, विज्ञान, इंजीनियरिंग, लोक कार्य, सिविल सेवा, व्यापार और उद्योग समेत विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में असाधारण उपलब्धि या सेवाओं के लिए दिए जाते हैं. ये पुरस्कार तीन श्रेणियों में दिए जाते हैं.
1. पद्म विभूषण : असाधारण और विशिष्ट सेवा के लिए.
2. पद्म भूषण : उच्च कोटि की विशिष्ट सेवा के लिए.
3. पद्म श्री : विशिष्ट सेवा के लिए.
👉इस वर्ष यह सम्मान 106 व्यक्तियों को दिए जा रहे है.
👉इसमें 6 पद्म विभूषण (Padma Vibhushan), 9 पद्म भूषण (Padma Bhushan) और 91 पद्म श्री (Padma Shri) पुरस्कार शामिल है.
👉इस बार इस सम्मान में 19 महिलाएं भी शामिल है.
👉विदेशियों/NRI/PIO/OCI की कैटेगरी के 2 व्यक्ति और 7 मरणोपरांत व्यक्तियों को यह सम्मान दिया जायेगा.
👉कुल छह लोगों को देश के दूसरे सर्वोच्च नागरिक सम्मान पद्म विभूषण से सम्मानित किया गया है -: उत्तर प्रदेश के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री मुलायम सिंह यादव (मरणोपरांत), पूर्व विदेश मंत्री एस एम कृष्णा, तबला वादक जाकिर हुसैन, बालकृष्ण दोशी (मरणोपरांत), दिलीप महालनाबिस (मरणोपरांत) और श्रीनिवास वर्धन.
