#INTWERVIEW_QUESTION
#VERY_IMPORTANT

Since you all have completed the basic interview questions like knowing about why you want to join the forces, awareness about the place you come from. Let's start with the series of CIQ's asked by the IO in the SSB. Generally, the questions asked all at a go is divided into 6 CIQs in SSB Interview or Comprehensive Information Questionnaire. So let's start with the CIQ 1 today. And we will continue this for 6 days.

CIQ-1
The first CIQ is generally related to your academic performance and participation in sports and games. The questions will go something like this:

“Your academic performance starting from your 10th class till graduation. Your academic scores in each class and semesters. State your academic achievements if any. Teachers you liked and why do you like them? The teachers you didn’t like and why so? The subjects you were weak in and how did you improve on them. Who are your best friends and why? Tell your friend’s one good and one bad quality. Tell one quality from each of your friends that you like and want to learn. The games and sports you participated in. Extra co-curricular activities you took part in, state your achievements in these if any? "

Note: Kindly note down your answers with all these questions in your personal journal everyday. This is extremely important. Trust me these are exact questions in almost exact format they ask you after making you comfortable. No need to send it here. It's a personal exercise.

Myanmar's Navy Officially Inducted Indian Submarine INS Sindhuvir

◆The Myanmar Navy has officially inducted the submarine INS Sindhuvir, which was handed over by the Indian Navy to the country in October 2020.
◆This is the first submarine in the Myanmar Navy’s arsenal. The submarine has been refurbished for the Myanmar Navy by state-run defence shipbuilder, Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) in Visakhapatnam.

About INS Sindhuvir:
●INS Sindhuvir was commissioned on 25th December 2020, which marked the 73rd anniversary of the Myanmar Navy.
●INS Sindhuvir has been renamed as UMS Minye Theinkhathu by the Myanmar Navy.
●This is the first submarine in the Myanmar Navy’s arsenal. It is a diesel-electric Kilo-class submarine, which was in operation in the Indian Navy since 1988.

Reforms with the future and farming needs in mind{1/2}

◆The recently passed acts - Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act and the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act.
◆There are few who are in favour of changing the old archaic laws but have opposed this Act.
◆Others have several objections because citizens are of the view that the Act would lead to stoppage of Minimum Support Price (MSP), Closure of Agricultural Produce Market Committees (APMC), farmers' land will be taken over by powerful corporate and they would also take away the agricultural trade from farmers.

The basis for reforms
●The gap between the agri-income of a farmer and that of a non-agriculture worker increased from ₹25,398 in 1993–94 to ₹1.42 lakh in 2011-12 thus increasing agrarian distress every year.
●Aggregate food demand has fallen short of domestic production necessitating the export of a large quantity to maintain equilibrium and prevent domestic prices from falling very low.
●India has an excess stock of 60 lakh tons of sugar and 72 million tons of wheat and rice, which is causing a huge drain on fiscal resources.
●India's Agri exports are reducing, and imports are increasing as the domestic prices are higher than international prices.
●Rural youth are looking for jobs outside agriculture further aggravating the problem of unemployment.
●There has been market failure several times leading farmers to look at the government for remunerative prices through MSP for most agricultural products.
●Indian agriculture production and the market are not moving to the next stage of development. The growth rate in agriculture is mostly due to heavy support through various kinds of subsidies and output price support.
●The net revenue receipt of the government is below 9 per cent and such MSP, subsidies to Farmer would take away most of the tax revenue from the government.

Contract farming
◆The new Act aims to insulate interested farmers against market and price risks so they can cultivate high-value crops without caring about the market and low prices in the harvest season.
◆The Act prohibits the farming agreement to include transfer, sale, and lease, mortgage of the land or premises of the Farmer.
◆The Act promotes diversification, quality production for a premium price, export, and direct sale of produce, thus bringing in new investment and knowledge into agriculture and paving the way for the increased value chain.
◆The Act is voluntary, and either party is free to leave it after the expiry of agreement.
◆But certain farmers are getting confused between contract and corporate farming which must be cleared.

Reforms with the future and farming needs in mind{2/2}

Way Forward

●There should be increased competition for the sale of agricultural produce.
●We are developing modern value chains, value addition, export, and processing as a part of rural economic revitalization.
●The removal of MSP does not threaten the existence of APMC. Crops other than paddy, wheat and cotton and horticulture fruits and vegetables are sold at prices below the MSP in the APMC mandis on a regular basis.
●The threat to the APMC comes from the action of States by using these mandis for extra revenue generation.
●There should be a level playing field for APMC and Private Players.
●Based on existing provision if a farmer has PAN card, then he can carry on agribusiness and undertake purchases of farm commodities for direct sale to a consumer or other agribusiness firms.
●In the New Trading Act there are stringent criteria for registration of Traders like bank guarantee and so on leading agriculture trade in the hands of the trading class and the spirit of the new law to facilitate farmers and rural youth to become agribusiness entrepreneurs will be lost.

Conclusion
◆The policy reforms are undertaken by the central government through are to keep the farming techniques updated with the latest technology and when they are implemented in the right spirit, it would take Indian agriculture to new heights and usher in the transformation of the rural economy.
◆The new policy aims at removing the agrarian distress and providing additional income opportunities for the farmers through increased competition through effective implementation of laws.
