#INTWERVIEW_QUESTION
#VERY_IMPORTANT
Hey folks, so today is Day 2 of CIQ series which are asked by the Interviewing officers commonly in SSB ( Most of you know them by the name of Rapid Fire questions) If you haven't gone through CIQ 1 .. You may find it in the main group.
CIQ 2
This CIQ is related to your relations with your family/neighbors and how you spend your time with them. The questions would be something like this:
“Who all are in your family and what about their occupation? Do you stay with them or not? If not then how often you visit them and when? What activities you do together and how do you spend time with them? Who are you closer to your mother or your father? Who do you approach when you require help or are facing any problem? How do you help your parents at home? If you have any monetary need who do you approach? How do you spend your money and how do you save? If you have neighbors what are your relations with them?”
It is always a good practice to ask IO “have I missed any question, sir” after answer the questions.
Note: Kindly note down your answers with all these questions in your personal journal. Trust me they will be in exact this format. No need to send it here. It's a personal exercise.

Diplomatic Role of Indian Navy-
◆Naval Diplomacy entails the use of naval forces in support of foreign policy objectives to build ‘bridges of friendship’ and strengthen international cooperation on the one hand, and to signal capability and intent to deter potential adversaries on the other.
◆ The larger purpose of the navy’s diplomatic role is to favorably shape the maritime environment in the furtherance of national interests, in consonance with the foreign policy and national security objectives.
◆Navies inherently lean towards performing a diplomatic role on account of two characteristics.
●● The first is their status as comprehensive instruments of a country’s sovereign power, whereupon their very presence in or off a certain area signals the nation’s political intent and commitment to pursue national interests in that region. Hence, their presence or absence can be calibrated to send a political message to potential friends and foes alike.
●●The second characteristic facilitating the navy’s diplomatic role is in the very attributes of maritime forces, including access, mobility, sustenance, reach, flexibility and versatility. These combine to offer a variety of tools for furthering national interests and pursuing foreign policy goals.
◆Naval forces can be readily deployed, can perform multiple roles and tasks that can be calibrated in visibility and intensity as per requirements, and can just as easily and rapidly be withdrawn, to send a countersignal.
Objectives -
•Strengthen Political relations and goodwill
•Strengthen defense relations with friendly states
•Portray credible defense posture and capability
Strengthen maritime security in IOR
•Promote regional and global stability
Missions -
•Constructive maritime engagement
•Maritime assistance and support
•Presence
•Peace support ops
Tasks-
Overseas deployments,Flag showing/Port visits,Hosting foreign warship visits
Technical and logistics assistance,Foreign training,Maritime Patrols,Bilateral/ Multilateral Exercises
OOAC tasks,Non Combant Evacuation Ops (NEO),Peace enforcement, peace making, peace keeping and peace building,Activities under the IONS program

Crisis in the Korean Peninsula-
●North Korea blew up a joint liaison office on the border with South Korea and threatened to deploy troops along the demilitarized zone.
Building up of tensions
◆Deadline dictated by North Korea to the U.S. to achieve progress in the denuclearisation in the peninsula expired on December 31.
◆Activists and defectors in South Korea sent anti-North Korean propaganda leaflets, rice and Bibles using balloons across the border into North Korean territory.
◆The North conducted several missile tests and severed hotlines with the South.
The real problem
◆U.S President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s Singapore Summit in 2018 to discuss denuclearisation of the peninsula, couldn’t achieve much in reality.
◆North Korea is sceptical of U.S’s demands of “complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization” considering U.S’s breaching of Iran Nuclear Deal and going after dictators like Saddam Hussein and Gaddafi.
◆No agreement on formally ending the decades-old Korean War.
◆Resumption of U.S-South Korea joint military exercise.
Way Ahead
●The U.S must recognise steps taken by the North like a freeze on nuclear tests and it’s an offer to shut down its Yongbyon nuclear complex.
● The focus must be to revive talks with North Korea and ensure peace in Korean peninsula rather than taking any unilateral actions.

Galwan Valley Conflict
●In the worst flare-up on the Line of Actual Control in more than five decades, 20 Indian Army personnel were killed in violent clashes with Chinese troops in the Galwan valley of Ladakh where disengagement of troops on either side was underway.
Issue
●Tensions had been running high in the area for the past few weeks, with a large number of soldiers and military equipment deployed along the LAC by both sides.
●Even though the LAC in Galwan Valley was never disputed by the two sides, the Chinese had moved into the Indian side of the LAC. After the meeting at the level of Corps Commanders on June 6, negotiations had been conducted between local military commanders of both the armies for a mutually agreed disengagement process.
●As part of that process, a buffer zone had been agreed to be created between the LAC and the junction of the Shyok and Galwan rivers to avoid any faceoff between the two armies. The two armies were to move back by a kilometre each in that area as a first step.
◆When Indian Army Personnel noticed that a Chinese camp was still existing in the area, they went to get it removed. This soon led to fisticuffs and blows being exchanged, resulting in deaths and injuries.
●The 1996 agreement between the two countries on Confidence Building Measures in the Military Field Along the Line of Actual Control in the India-China Border Areas, imposed a lot of restrictions on military equipment, exercises, blasts, and aircraft in the vicinity of the LAC, hence Indian soldiers didn't use any weapons.

ISRO
●ISRO is the main body for space research, controlled by the Government of India. ISRO is one of the six advanced research organizations in the world, other being NASA (U.S.A), RKA (Russia), CNSA (China), ESA (Europe) and JAXA (Japan). The organization is located in Banglore.
●ISRO's first satellite (Aryabhata) was launched by the soviet union in 1975.
●Rohini, the first satellite to be placed in the orbit by an Indian made launch vehicle (SLV 3) was launched in 1980.
Importance of ISRO
◆ISRO is responsible for the development and delivery of application-specific satellite products and tools to the country.
◆To achieve complete self-reliance in Space exploration, it was essential to develop cost-efficient and reliable launch systems, which took shape in the form of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV).
◆The Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) was developed to launch heavier and more demanding Geosynchronous communication satellites into space.
◆ISRO's own Lunar and interplanetary missions along with other scientific projects, encourage and promote science education, apart from providing valuable information to the scientific community which in turn enriches science.
◆Some of the important missions of ISRO, in terms of IRS series of satellites, that has enabled unique applications of space-based imaging are, Cartosat-1 & 2, Resources at-1 & 2, Oceans-1 & 2, Risat-1, Megha-Tropiques, SARAL, Scatsat, INSAT series, and host of other satellites.
Role in Defence:
●ISRO is also playing an important role in the security of the nation by launching surveillance satellites to keep track of the enemy's activities.
● Armed forces acquire actionable intelligence on the terrorist launch pads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir that were destroyed during the surgical strikes by India's military.
●After the strikes, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) highlighted, for the first time its role in India's national security. Its leadership declared that the organization would not be found lacking from securing the country's national interests.
●There are also some recent surgical strikes where ISRO played a pivotal role by helping the Indian Army to specifically target the terror pads in Pakistan ( Uri and Balakot in Pakistan).
●Some satellites launched by ISRO for Armed Forces-GSAT -6, GSAT-7 and GSAT 7A, MICROSAT R, etc.
