India’s first gas exchange launched
Why in the news-India’s first gas exchange the Indian Gas Exchange (IGX) was launched recently.
●The exchange is expected to facilitate transparent price discovery in natural gas and facilitate the growth of the share of natural gas in India’s energy basket.
How will this exchange work?
●It is a digital trading platform that will allow buyers and sellers of natural gas to trade both in the spot market and in the forward market for imported natural gas.
●This will be applicable for trade across three hubs Dahej and Hazira in Gujarat, and Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh.
●Imported Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) will be regasified and sold to buyers through the exchange, thus removing the requirement for buyers and sellers to find each other.
Significance of the Indian Gas Exchange (IGX)
●Buyers do not have to contact multiple dealers to ensure they find a fair price.
●The Indian Gas Exchange (IGX) also allows much shorter contracts –
●For delivery on the next day, and up to a month.
●On the other hand, ordinarily contracts for natural gas supply are as long as six months to a year.
◆This, experts say, will allow buyers and sellers greater flexibility.
●The exchange is expected to facilitate overall transparent price discovery in natural gas, and facilitate the growth of the share of natural gas in India’s energy basket.
Current situation
◆Currently, the pipeline infrastructure necessary for the transportation of natural gas is controlled by the companies that own the network.
◆State-owned GAIL owns and operates India’s largest gas pipeline network, spanning over 12,000 km.
◆It is necessary to have an independent system operator for natural gas pipelines
◆It would help ensure the transparent allocation of pipeline usage and build confidence in the minds of buyers and sellers about neutrality in the allocation of pipeline capacity.

MERCY KILLING (EUTHANASIA)
-It means a good death.A decision to discontinue the life support of a person in permanent vegetative system(PVS) or who is otherwise incompetent to take a decision.
-this can be done by the parents or the spouse or other close relatives or in the absence of any of them, such a decision can be taken by next friend.
- It can also be taken by doctors attending the patient. However the decision should be taken bonefide in the best interest of the patient.
-In our country such case was enlighten when a petition was filed in SC by a friend of a patient ARUNA SHANBAUG laying in a PVS in KEM hospital Mumbai for 42 years and finally died in 2015.
-At that time it was considered that mercy killing or 'Right to Die' should be involved in the article 21 of constitution which includes right to life too.
-As a result SC approved the Passive Euthanasia in country by saying that "It will be the law until parliament makes a law on the subject".
Arguments against it:
-state may refuse to invest in health.(as they work towards right to life)
- leads to decline in the quality of care.
-leads to increase in mental illness.
-missuse of it by relatives to inherit the property of patient.
- leads to commercialisation of health care
Arguments in favour:
-right to refuse medical treatment is well mentioned in laws.
-a way to upheld the right to life by honouring right to die with dignity.
-prove as a right to life for organ needy patients.

#INTWERVIEW_QUESTION
#VERY_IMPORTANT
Since you all have completed the basic interview questions like knowing about why you want to join the forces, awareness about the place you come from. Let's start with the series of CIQ's asked by the IO in the SSB. Generally, the questions asked all at a go is divided into 6 CIQs in SSB Interview or Comprehensive Information Questionnaire. So let's start with the CIQ 1 today. And we will continue this for 6 days.
CIQ-1
The first CIQ is generally related to your academic performance and participation in sports and games. The questions will go something like this:
“Your academic performance starting from your 10th class till graduation. Your academic scores in each class and semesters. State your academic achievements if any. Teachers you liked and why do you like them? The teachers you didn’t like and why so? The subjects you were weak in and how did you improve on them. Who are your best friends and why? Tell your friend’s one good and one bad quality. Tell one quality from each of your friends that you like and want to learn. The games and sports you participated in. Extra co-curricular activities you took part in, state your achievements in these if any? "
Note: Kindly note down your answers with all these questions in your personal journal everyday. This is extremely important. Trust me these are exact questions in almost exact format they ask you after making you comfortable. No need to send it here. It's a personal exercise.
