Did you notice something wrong with this link?

https://github.com/amd64f0x/SpotX

Someone created a fake repository by replacing 'o' with '0' in my username and tried to infect users under the guise of the official SpotX. As a result, one user was affected, and the fake repository was banned after user complaints. The full story is on Reddit.

Please be cautious and only use official SpotX links:

SpotX for Mac & Linux - https://github.com/jetfir3/SpotX-Bash

SpotX for Windows - https://github.com/SpotX-Official/SpotX

Only there can we guarantee your safety

Cheers

Spotify plans to discontinue building its client for the x86 architecture on Windows

some users who have been using the x86 client have started receiving emails with the following content:

Hello,

We have noticed that you’re using an old version of the Spotify Windows app. Starting Dec 18, 2024, this version will no longer be updated. While you likely will be able to continue using Spotify with this app, we won’t be able to offer you the latest experience or provide technical support.

To continue listening and enjoy the latest features offered by Spotify, we recommend that you download the latest version of Spotify available at www.spotify.com/download. Updating to the latest version also ensures that you have access to bug fixes and security updates, improving the stability and security of the application.

Please note that the latest version of Spotify requires Windows 10 64-bit on PC or macOS 11 to function. If you are unable to update your Operating System, you can still enjoy Spotify using our mobile app or the Web Player, which is available by visiting spotify.com

Feel free to reach out to our Customer Support team for any questions or visit our Support site for more information.

Thank you for using Spotify!

SpotX for Windows currently uses x86 clients by default, but it also supports other architectures like x64 and arm64. To use these, you need to manually install the client and run the SpotX.

Once Spotify stops uploading new x86 builds to their server, I will switch SpotX to x64 architecture by default.

Cheers!

The main Spotx Community group on Telegram has been temporarily blocked pending clarification of the circumstances. The reason for the ban (see screenshot) is ambiguous - I’m almost certain we didn’t violate Telegram’s TOS, it’s highly likely that someone (either a random user or a group of users) filed a complaint against us

I’ve already contacted Telegram Support directly - both through the in-app support feature and via email - requesting that they investigate the matter and unblock our group immediately. If they believe we did violate any rules, I’ve asked them to provide concrete evidence of the alleged infraction

So i created a new chat SpotX

As soon as there are any updates, I’ll let you know, but based on other users' experiences, they respond in a week at best, and sometimes it takes up to a month or even longer.

Starting from version 1.2.70, the Spotify developers enabled signature protection for their Windows client, because of this all binary patches in SpotX broke, namely:

• blocking ads slots
• blocking official updates
• blocking sending analytics
• also incorrect operation of remote config (broken yet 1.2.69)

For the patches to work again, I need to bypass CEF’s signature verification protection, but for now I have no ideas how to do this.

if someone is good at reverse engineering or just knows how to work with binary files, then welcome to my dms

as for linux and mac, I have nothing to say yet, as soon as jetfire checks them it will become clearer whether they implemented something similar there or not

Theoretically, I can port all the broken patches to js, but that will be sometime in september or later, I’m not sure exactly since I’m still on vacation

For now, the latest fully working version for SpotX is 1.2.68 and all versions below

Installation command:
iex "& { $(iwr -useb 'https://raw.githubusercontent.com/SpotX-Official/spotx-official.github.io/main/run.ps1') } -new_theme -v 1.2.68.528.g50f97d42-1008 -sp-over -block_update_on"

or use other ad blockers like spicetify, it should probably work since they are completely js
