Notice to all students enrolled in the Master of Public Health (MPH) programs in 2016 EFY.

This is to notify you that beginning on Monday, January 15, 2024, classes for all regular MPH programs will officially start. For weekend students, classes will begin on Saturday, January 13, 2024. On the same day, an oration will be given.

የማህፀን ወደ ውጭ መውጣት/መውረድ /ችግር  ላላቸው እንዲሁም በሚያስነጥሱበት፤በሚያስሉበት ወይም ከባድ ነገር በሚያነሱበት ጊዜ የሽንት ማምለጥ ችግር ላለባቸዉ እናቶች በቅዱስ ጳውሎስ ሆስፒታል ከታህሳስ 24 እስከ ጥር 24 2016ዓ.ም  ባሉት ቀናት በማህፀን እና ፅንስ ተመላላሽ ህክምና ክፍል የህክምና አገልግሎት ይሰጣል። ችግሩ ያለባችሁ በሙሉ ያገልግሎቱ ተጠቃሚ ሁኑ ።

A Hepatology and Liver Transplant team from Sutter Health’s California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC), San Francisco, California, USA, visited Saint Paul’s Millennial Medical College (SPMMC) from 1/7/2024-1/13/2024. The purpose of this visit was to help St. Paul Hospital develop its hepatobiliary and pancreas surgical program well and lay down a foundation to start Ethiopia’s first liver transplant program at the hospital. CPMC’s medical and surgical group has provided hands-on hepatobiliary surgical training for 6 -8 surgeons by performing very complex liver surgeries for liver, gallbladder, bile duct and pancreas cancers for patients admitted to the St. Paul hospital during the visit. The group has also provided hands-on training to 6 OR nurses during these surgeries and they have received certificates of participation at the end if the week. Multiple didactic educational session was given about a living donor liver transplant set-up, medical evaluation of a liver patient, post-operative management following liver surgeries, how to manage immunosuppression after transplant and review of complications after liver surgeries and their management. Multi-disciplinary team ward rounds were conducted daily on pre- and post-liver resection patients. This group has also donated liver surgical equipment and supplies worth 65,000 USD during this visit.

This initiative was organized by Dr. Kidist Kidane Yimam, an Ethiopian born Transplant Hepatologist and Medical Director of the Autoimmune Liver Disease Program at California Pacific Medical Center, San Francisco, California who also leads a task force in Africa for the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, Global Engagement Committee in collaboration with the Ethiopian Mister of Health, Dr. Lia Tadesse and Dr. Wuletwa Channie, Hepatobiliary Surgeon and Vice Provost of SPHMMC. In addition to Dr. Kidist as a Transplant Hepatologists, the visiting surgical team includes: Dr. Assad Hassoun Lead, Hepatobiliary and Transplant (Liver, Kidney, and Pancreas) Surgeon, Annie Southhall, Liver Transplant Surgery, Lead Physician Assistant, Shannnon Yrigoyens, RN CNOR



Dr. Kidist stated that her team will provide a road map and recommendation on how to develop a successful liver transplant program in Ethiopia and will continue to work with Dr. Wuletaw and his team at St. Paul Hospital and Ethiopian Minister of health, Dr. Lia, and her team, in developing the infrastructure (which is already in underway) and knowledge/ skill training needed to make a liver transplant program a reality in Ethiopia. There is a plan for ongoing collaboration and knowledge and experience exchange with St. Paul’s hospital Hepatobiliary surgeons, Gastroenterologist and hepatologist, intensivist, anesthesiologist and all other ancillary specialist that are key to the success of developing this liver transplant program in Ethiopia.


Dr. Kidist thanks her colleagues for their commitment and hard work and for the tremendous contribution her team has given to the doctors, nurses, and patients at St. Paul Hospital this week and for the great collaboration and hospitality received from Dr. Wuletaw and his team.

Dr. Kidist looks forward to the impact this visit may have on the St. Paul program and further engagement between the two teams in the near future.

ከ2015 የትምህርት ዘመን ጀምሮ በሁሉም በቅድመ ምረቃ ፕሮግራሞች ለእጩ ተመራቂ ተማሪዎች የከፍተኛ ትምህርት የመውጫ ፈተና እየተሰጠ መሆኑ ይታወቃል፡፡ በ2016 ዓ.ም አጋማሽ ላይ የመውጫ ፈተናን ለመፈተን በመጠባበቅ ላይ ያላችሁ ተፈታኞች በሙሉ ፈተናው ከጥር 27- የካቲት 1/2016 ዓ.ም የሚሰጥ ይሆናል፡፡

ስለሆነም በሐምሌ ወር 2015 ዓ.ም የመውጫ ፈተናውን ተፈትናችሁ ያላለፋችሁ እና ከጥር 27 - የካቲት 1/ 2016 ዓ.ም ድረስ የመውጫ ፈተናውን በድጋሚ (Re-exam) ለመውሰድ በመጠባበቅ ላይ ያላችሁ ተፈታኞች በሙሉ ምዝገባ የምታካሂዱትና የመፈተኛ ተቋም (የመንግስት ዩኒቨርሲቲ) የምትመርጡት ከታች በተገለጸው ማስፈንጠሪያ (Link)
