The weather still allows us to train outside, but the days are becoming shorter. We have no opportunity to start early, we all have jobs. That's why a few months ago, we decided to make lights for our gates.
There were a lot of options, but also more requirements. For example, it should be safe, easy to set up, etc. I’ll show our solution in one of the next videos on our YouTube channel.
We had been testing it for two weeks before my teammates decided to organize a competition. That time, we didn’t want to have a big event, but gather all local racers for just a small, friendly get-together competition.
My teammate drew and made a track. And I love it. This track is killer! I’m going to fly it next few weeks. But that time I was injured, so I couldn't participate and made the spectator area. Food, drinks, and a cozy campfire. This race was bound to succeed. It was a pleasant surprise to see competition at all levels. Every pilot was so close to each other. The race was over in the blink of an eye, but we’ll make a new one again soon.

HDZero has released a battery case today. I double-checked the date, and it's not April 1st.
Funny thing. It contains two 21700 batteries, a card reader(!), and a USB charger.
How long will the goggles work on two 21700 batteries? A couple of hours?

HDZero continues to release new products aimed at non-racers.
This time, the AIO 45A 25x25 with built-in ELRS for 3.5-4 inch drones.
"The Gamma is HD-ready with a standard digital VTX plug and an 8V/3A BEC, so you can use it with HDZero, DJI, Walksnail, OpenIPC—whatever you're running."
Apparently everything has already been released for racers, or is there a way to 6s/60A AIO?

We decided to meet up and clean our HDZero goggles(first version) for the first time. As you know, they’re not dust-proof.
We opened them up — and guess what we found? The factory speaker sticker hadn’t been removed.
This sticker is meant to protect the speaker during soldering and flux cleaning. But it was still there — on both goggles 🤷♂️

I want to write here more often. Because we really have a lot of news.
We built a track from the old GQ, but compressed it by half to avoid long distances. We'll probably be using this more often in the future. It's safer for drones and allows for more training skills.

Been working on a side project for a while now - Metricore (https://metricore.one), a drone racing analytics platform.
Right now it's focused on Velocidrone:
- Global pilot ratings across 1-lap and 3-lap modes, broken down by quad class (5", 3", whoops)
- Full leaderboards with time distribution analysis - you can see where you stand compared to everyone else
- Hot Tracks - what the community is flying right now
- Pilot profiles with rating history, 30-day progress, per-track breakdowns(history is still being compiled, it takes time)
There's also a MultiGP Global Qualifier section with interleaved spring/summer rankings, but the data isn't 100% accurate yet - working on improving it.
The newest thing I'm testing: a macOS/Windows companion app that connects to Velocidrone's WebSocket and captures your training sessions in real-time. Gate-by-gate split times, lap comparisons, best vs theoretical best overlay right on top of the sim. Still in beta(show you in the near feature), but already useful for analyzing where you lose time.
Coming soon: FAI race data integration.
