Why do Evangelical Christians use an abridged version of the Holy Bible revised down by an Anglican book publisher (British and Foreign Bible Society) in 1804?
A lot of Christians are missing out on 7 books of the Holy Bible and several passages in books accepted by all Christians:
• Tobit
• Judith
• Baruch
• Sirach (or Ecclesiasticus)
• 1st 2nd Maccabees
• Wisdom
• Esther and Daniel (passages removed in evangelical bibles)
The common excuse is that modern Jews also do not include these books in their Hebrew Bible but that was decided by their Council of Jamnia around 70-90 AD approximately 35-60 years after Jesus Christ’s death. These books were accepted canon by Jews in Alexandria translated into Greek from Hebrew either in 3rd or 2nd century BC.

So if the Deutorocanon was accepted during Jesus Christ’s time and officially stated in the 382 AD Council of Rome aswell as affirmed by numerous other councils and included in Martin Luther’s Bible but noted as “non canonical” but “worthy of reverence” then who are we to throw out over a thousand years of tradition followed in the 73 book canon?
