MASSACRE IN MIROPOL
Nazism in Ukraine, a historical benchmark
π· π in #Miropol vicinity, on October 13, 1941, a woman and her son are assassinated. The killers are two German custom officers and in the foreground, two Ukrainian police auxiliaries (Lubomir Skrovina, historical collection of the State Security Service, Prague)
"Muscovites [Russians], Poles, Hungarians and Jews are your enemies, destroy them!"
is saying Stepan #Bandera, before and during WW2. As of 2014, he will posthumously become the most popular "hero" in #NATO πΊπΈ backed #Ukraine π πΊπ¦
The Nazi forces attacked #SovietUnion on June 22, 1941. In order to celebrate the event, the Ukrainian nationalists, on self-initiative, slaughtered 4,000 Jewish civilians in #Lviv and vicinity. In a unilateral way, the nationalist leader, Stepan Bandera, declared a fascist Ukraine, ally of Nazi #Germany π π©πͺ Adolf #Hitler did not grant independence to Bandera, whose militias, under German command, started however participating in the "Holocaust by bullets".
About 200 km west of Kiev, Miropol village was in Soviet Ukraine since 1922. The Nazi forces came in July 1941. In the evening of October 12, the German authorities and Ukrainian police have rounded up the Jewish families. In the morning, their neighbors throw rocks at 300 victims, who are taken to the slaughter, loot later their houses.
Although reported to the police in the 60s, the custom officers will not be sued in West Germany. The denazification of West Germany will have been very flawed. But in Soviet Union, the KGB will identify the Ukrainians, who will be sentenced to death in 1987. US historian Wendy Lower will start investigating the photo in 2009.
