🀚 If an app is must have a Privacy Manifest but it doesn’t, the build will not be accepted for review. Until May 1st, there were warnings, but as of today, it's a requirement

How to add a manifest:
🐀 https://sparrowcode.io/en/tutorials/privacy-manifest

Current apps without a Manifest stay available in the store. The manifest is checked before submission for review

Apple is changing the terms of its Core Technology Fee (CTF), which applies to alternative app stores

1. If you don't earn money from your apps, the CTF is waived. This only applies to personal apps, businesses are not eligible. You must confirm your status annually

2. If an app becomes viral in the first three years, no CTF will be charged for over a million installations. The revenue must be less than €10 million

3. The CTF is adjusted based on income:
Up to €10 million: no CTF for three years
Between €10 million and €50 million: CTF up to €1 million per year for three years
Above €50 million: the full CTF is charged

🐀 Previously, Apple stated that their fees could be detrimental to students and viral apps. The new terms mitigate this

Presented the new iPads, more powerful, expensive For you as developers, it's useful to know just about the new Pencil Pro β€” it will support gestures. There is no documentation yet
The docs here. In UIKit, gestures work through perform methods, in SwiftUI it work via a modifier:

MyView()
.onPencilDoubleTap { value in
// ...
}

πŸ“– Here are docs to the for squeezes and double-tap gestures. It has been working since beta 17.5

In May, Apple released a report about app rejections and removals. The full report is not yet available, but a few stuff here. All data related to 2023

βœ… The review team consists of over 500 experts. This is the first time Apple has mentioned it. They also mention automated review

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ’» Closed 4x fewer dev accounts, total 100k. A year ago, they cleaned up apps and accounts, removing a quarter of all applications at that time

πŸ›‘ 250k apps were rejected due to 4.x (note: Design Spam). Same as year before

πŸ›‘ The chance of restoring an app after removal from the App Store is 1.7%. The chance of restoring a developer account is 2.7%

🐀 It seems that Apple has become stricter, but the number of account removal has decreased by 4 times

πŸ”¨ The second one is Swift Assist, think of it as an integrated ChatGPT

Apple positions the Assist as a tutorial for new API (you can learn the code by example) and for prototypes

πŸ†˜ If you're a beginner: don't worry β€” this thing won't replace you. It doesn't know how to isolate problems and solve them
