A page with SPM packages has been added to 🔢 swift.org. There are a few categories, but they contain a couple of popular examples like Alamofire and Moya.

The page appeared thanks to the Swift Package Index project - an aggregator 📦 of SPM packages, something similar to awesome-ios.

In 💻 Xcode 15.1 added checkbox to delete old betas.

Starting in January, the Apple Developer Program includes a basic ☁️ Xcode Cloud tier with 25 hours per month for free.

Prior to this, the price was $15.

iOS 17.2 has been released along with the 📔 Journal app.

Developers can fill content for their Journals via the API – docs and a video.

The RC matches the release — if you downloaded it, there is no need to update. Writing for 🥽 visionOS through the beta of 💻 Xcode 15.2.

👨‍💻 Apple is rolling out a new feature called Contingent Pricing:

If a user has an in-app subscription, you will be able to offer a discount in another app. Key points:

- It works even between two different dev's accounts
- The discount will remain active as long as the conditional subscription is active
- You cannot select a competitor's app

It is currently in private testing, but you can apply here.

📦 Apple has published SDKs that require the signatures.

If confused: 🤚 in spring, both privacy manifestos and signatures will become mandatory.

I contacted Apple, and they confirmed — signatures are only for the list above. The list will be updated.

💻 Xcode 15.2 has been released with support 🥽 visionOS. Now it is possible to develop and deploy from the release version.

Screenshots should be taken without hands, but if appropriate, they can be included.

Apple Vision Pro must always have the first letters capitalized and cannot be split into two lines. It must not be used in the app's name, but can be used in the description.

visionOS should always be lowercase, even if it is the first word in a sentence.

🥽 Apple launched Vision Pro 🌐 App Store. App's statuses have changed to Ready for Sale and indexing has begun.

Apps for visionOS could be submitted for review earlier, but the status was Pending Apple Release.

💳 You can now direct to your own website for purchases in the US store. Examples in the screenshot.

- Submit an application, they will check the payment information and the site
- Add the StoreKit External Purchase Link Entitlement to your plist
- Apple's commission is 27%

You must report independently, and Apple may conduct an audit whenever they wish.

Update for ✍️ SF Symbols has been released through the system. Now you can specify localization for numbers, for example:

8.circle.fill will display the number 8 according to the current localization (Latin 8 / Arabic ٨ / Hindi ८)
8.circle.fill.ar will display the Arabic number 8 as ٨ in any localization

🌐 Apple Launches Alternative App Stores: In March, only in the 🇪🇺 EU

For store developers:
- Stores will be vetted. Accreditation and €1 million are required.
- Store owners pay €0.5 per year for each store installation.

EU developers can remain on the App Store or
switch to new terms:

- Publish on the App Store and alternative stores.
- If installations exceed 1 million, they pay €0.5 per year for the excess.
- Can use the App Store payment system with a 3% commission.
- Commission is 17%, and 10% for SBP. Confused about commissions? Here's a calculator.

🤯 Both store owners and app developers have to pay.

Developers can also do away with 🌐 WebKit. Now you can make browsers on your own engine.

Now, it's not mandatory to use Sign in with Apple, but instead, there must be a login option with following conditions:

1. It only requests the name and email.
2. The email can be hidden during registration.
3. It does not track the user's actions.

🐤 As of now, only Apple's login meets these conditions, so in practice, nothing has changed.
