✍️ SF Symbols 5 has been released. What's new:

- 700 new symbols from iOS 💽
- Added animations. There are previews in the app.
- You can customize elements, like move the badge higher.

In beta 💻 Xcode 15.1 @IBDesignable views are deprecated.

Added new icons to the ✍️ SafeSFSymbols library.

I made it so as not to mess with compatibility. If the symbol works with iOS 17, and the project is iOS 16, the compiler will throw an error.

Well, static typing is more convenient.

Starting with Xcode 15 🛠 the Leaks Instrument wasn't detecting leaks.

Today 💻 Xcode 15.0.1 was released with a fix. Download from the website or AppStore.

Apple has released a technote about watchOS apps. In brief:

Another update on the document-based application project in 📦 SwiftData.

In 👨‍💻 App Store Connect added 💳 in-app purchases Sandbox manage.

You can change account storefront, clear purchase history and simulate interrupted purchase.

They also added management of 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 Family Sharing - you can test auto-renewable subscriptions and non-consumables.

Added a 📅 fiscal calendar for 2024, it shows Apple paying out revenue to developers.

👨‍💻 Review-team will check apps during holidays. Last year, if an app did not pass the automatic review, the In Review status remained until the end of the vacations.

Since iOS 14, you can remove 🧩 LaunchScreen and your project will have no storyboards at all.

A page with SPM packages has been added to 🔢 swift.org. There are a few categories, but they contain a couple of popular examples like Alamofire and Moya.

The page appeared thanks to the Swift Package Index project - an aggregator 📦 of SPM packages, something similar to awesome-ios.

In 💻 Xcode 15.1 added checkbox to delete old betas.

Starting in January, the Apple Developer Program includes a basic ☁️ Xcode Cloud tier with 25 hours per month for free.

Prior to this, the price was $15.

iOS 17.2 has been released along with the 📔 Journal app.

Developers can fill content for their Journals via the API – docs and a video.

💻 Xcode 15.1 Released:

– 🧩 @IBDesignable is officially deprecated
– Macros can be used in Playground
– Conditions have been added to ☁️ Xcode Cloud for manual start only (see screenshot)

The RC matches the release — if you downloaded it, there is no need to update. Writing for 🥽 visionOS through the beta of 💻 Xcode 15.2.

👨‍💻 Apple is rolling out a new feature called Contingent Pricing:

If a user has an in-app subscription, you will be able to offer a discount in another app. Key points:

- It works even between two different dev's accounts
- The discount will remain active as long as the conditional subscription is active
- You cannot select a competitor's app

It is currently in private testing, but you can apply here.
