What is the effect of all of this, even on Americans stuck in the Russian propaganda feedback loop?
Here is a comment on one of my wife's posts about two Ukranians getting married from three weeks ago. He's managed to dehumanize 41 million Ukranians, and thinks what makes up a small percentage of their country represents them all because that's what Russian state media claims they are.
I was just thinking about why Tomi Lahren fell off and Candace Owens is still going strong. She stopped being a clown. The right is on a constant road to the dumbest possible position and people that decide to plant their feet and go no further get left behind. It's a viral loop of stupidity. The arc of the right is almost identical to Russian propaganda as it values masculinity and nationalist christian values. Love of the old ways. Hating gays.
Amash is a classical liberal that planted his feet in 2014, and therefore is suspect due to his pervasive "weakness." I'm in much the same position. I haven't changed my orthodox libertarian views much in the past 5 years, but I am butted up against people that take much more extreme positions for the performative aspect. I don't think people stuck in this media loop can see how they present to the rest of the world, but they don't really care. They're performing for each other because there is enough eyeballs now in the viral loop to support their point of view (and patreon).
