Oxford is setting up a system to "reduce traffic" that is basically a climate lockdown. The town fact checked the story, and confirmed all the details of the "conspiracy."
Are you posting a lot about Bud Light? You've unknowingly helped the company with its outrage marketing strategy.
Brands are using marketing to piss off the “right” people (in this instance, right-wingers that always take the bait) to boost their numbers with the people not buying their product. If they can get Bubba to talk crap about their brand, then maybe the Gen Z progressives in LA will give them a shot.
At the very least, they’ll get millions in organic social media now that it’s no longer possible without paying. Social media companies only give organic reach to posts that inflame or outrage. Trump got $2 Billion in free press in 2016 and won the presidency with this strategy in reverse. Then media companies started using it as a content strategy, which is why the Daily Wire is number one on Facebook. Now brands are using it for marketing.
Who ever heard of Balengcia before the pedo stuff? It was intentionally there to spark conversation.
Here's the proof for this campaign. Bud Light's marketing VP on a podcast says, first and foremost, she's a "businesswoman." Notice that representation is second because it's a tool for her. https://twitter.com/catchupfeed/status/1645089521980280832?s=46

Meet Alissa Heinerscheid, Bud Light’s VP of Marketing. She explains her strategy of using “inclusive” marketing to promote the brand to young people.
Reading political books from 1970-2000 has been an intellectual exercise of mine over the last two years, and I recommend it. (The books are always on eBay and cheap, too.) I wanted to reach back to the political generation or two just before mine to see if they faced the same issues as us and how they discussed them. I've learned that every generation has the same debates, and we aren't in a worse position. There are two differences. First, the writers are usually more steeped in classical education. I'm tempted to say they're better educated than writers today. Second, social media have made the arguments feel more vicious. Maybe they are, but I'm comforted that nothing new happens under the sun. This book is from 1991 and reads like it's from today. I highly recommend it.
