🇰🇿🇷🇺🇨🇳⚛️ When Nations Build, Empires Tremble

Kazakhstan exports 43% of the world's uranium from its mines. It's the second-largest fuel source for the United States' 100 operating nuclear reactors.

Yet the average person in Kazakhstan lives in energy poverty, with no nuclear plants and only 1/3 of the access to electricity that the average American has.

Thanks to help from Russia and China's nationalized nuclear companies, Kazakhstan is on the path to changing that.

☢️⚡️ The Green Mirage Shattered: How the Collapse of Xlinks Exposes British Eco-Imperialism

The Door Is Open to a True Development Partnership with Russia and China 🚄🌍

“The sun never sets on the British Empire” they once bragged. Now it sets each night on an island that can’t even power itself without leeching green energy from Africa.

When the UK officially pulled the plug on the Xlinks Morocco–UK power cable, it did more than kill a $33 billion fantasy. It exposed the utter economic, geopolitical, and moral bankruptcy of the G7’s so-called “green transition.” This was never about climate. It was about control.

For years, Xlinks was touted as the crown jewel of Britain’s green future: 11.5 GW of solar and wind power captured from Moroccan deserts, funneled beneath the Atlantic, and fed into British homes. The empire would rise again, not through industry or sovereignty, but by leeching energy from the Global South under the banner of King Charles' Green Transition.

Now that fantasy lies dead at the bottom of the Atlantic trench.

🧨 The Death of a Green Delusion
Even a pro-renewables Labour government couldn’t stomach the economic absurdity of the project:

- $6.5 billion in UK infrastructure costs before a single watt could be delivered.
- A 4,000 km cable, five times longer than any undersea HVDC line in existence.

This was never going to work. The logistics were laughable. The costs were insane. And the strategy was colonial to its core.

But instead of building baseload nuclear at home or financing sovereign development abroad, Britain tried to outsource its energy crisis to a solar plantation in the Western Sahara. They called it climate justice. In reality, it was climate feudalism.

☢️ Rosatom and the Return of Energy Sovereignty
While Britain chased mirages, Russia’s Rosatom was building reactors, in Egypt, Türkiye, and soon, perhaps, in Morocco.

The same deserts the British sought to exploit for sun farming hold 6.9 million tons of uranium locked inside Morocco’s phosphate rock. Enough to power a self-sufficient nuclear economy. Enough to desalinate water, run industry, and export clean baseload electricity—not just virtue signals.

With a signed agreement for nuclear desalination in 2023 and deepening technical cooperation since 2017, Rosatom is offering Morocco something the UK never did:

Energy independence
Industrial development
Long-term infrastructure, not price volatility

🛤 China's BRI: Development, Not Dependency
Simultaneously, China’s Belt and Road Initiative is laying down the physical foundation for a multipolar world. Roads, ports, tech hubs—not just copper wires to export electrons.

Tangier Tech City, backed by Chinese investment, promises to make Morocco the “Shanghai of North Africa.” Unlike Xlinks, this isn’t about extraction. It’s about industrialization, employment, and sovereignty.
While London demanded Morocco send green megawatts to fuel British smart kettles, Beijing offered a seat at the table of global trade. And now that the Xlinks deal is dead, the choice couldn’t be clearer.

A Prosperous Morocco
The death of Xlinks is not a failure for Morocco. It is a liberation.

It frees the country to pursue nuclear development, BRICS alignment, and a balanced foreign policy rooted in mutual interest—not renewable servitude.
Morocco has:

- The uranium to power Africa.
- The location to be a transcontinental logistics hub.
- The credibility to partner with East and West.

But it must choose.

Will it remain a green resource colony, or become a sovereign industrial power?

🧭 The Real Energy Transition
The real energy transition is not from fossil fuels to renewables.

It is from Atlanticist looting to sovereign, BRICS-led development. From globalism to productive sovereignty. From green colonial cables to nuclear-powered desalination and multipolar integration.

Let the age of sovereign energy begin.

🚨BREAKING: Reports say Trump’s team floated a $30B civilian nuclear deal with Iran.

It could be a bold revival of Eisenhower’s Atoms for Peace in 70 years.

In 1953, Iran’s Mossadegh moved to nationalize British oil. The British responded with a coup, using the CIA and the Dulles brothers to hijack U.S. foreign policy in defense of empire. It betrayed FDR’s 1944 promise that Iran would modernize as a sovereign nation.

Eisenhower, dismayed by the coup he inherited, launched Atoms for Peace four months later with Iran as a key partner, receiving a 5 MW research reactor in Tehran.

But by the 1970s, the vision was sabotaged—first by the oil shocks, then by eco-Malthusian ideology.

In January, Russia broke the deadlock: it signed a 20-year civilian nuclear deal with Iran: two active reactors, a third in progress and fuel swap programs that both limit enrichment risks and ensure reliable power.

If Trump is floating something similar, it would signal a return to American System diplomacy.
Did you know that Mao requested an in-person meeting with FDR in 1945 to discuss the post-war industrialization of China? To Britain's great relief, the request was blocked by an ambassador. In the 1970s, it was Kissinger, not Roosevelt, who got to be the first development partner of China.

My latest article asks what could've been accomplished in that meeting:
