Diplomatic Immunity, American-Style - The rule of law has disappeared in the US
In a recent podcast, Kevin Barrett stated that the rule of law has disappeared in the US. This is so obviously true to outsiders looking in, and is even more true of American official conduct abroad, but I find myself wondering about the extent to which Americans generally are aware of this and how it is perceived. In days gone by, this lawlessness was usually deeply buried and obfuscated but today it seems there is no longer even a pretense of any rule of law. We see this most recently in the so-called "sanctions" the US so freely applies to countries and individuals, being no more than illegal rampaging and looting. But there is another category that may not be as visible and yet is indicative of an extreme breakdown of the rule of law, this applying to the category of "diplomatic immunity", real or imagined, where the US government absolutely treads on a one-way street. This article is only a brief introduction with a few examples of hundreds that could be cited.

China deploys ships and jets near Taiwan following provocative 'freedom of navigation' moves by the US
The US Navy has sent two warships through the Taiwan Strait on Sunday, in a significant first sail through since House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's provocative visit to Taiwan early this month. The guided-missile cruisers USS Antietam and USS Chancellorsville traversed "through waters where high seas freedoms of navigation and overflight apply in accordance with international law," according to the US 7th Fleet in Japan. "These ships (are transiting) through a corridor in the strait that is beyond the territorial sea of any coastal state. The ships' transit through the Taiwan Strait demonstrates the United States' commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific. The United States military flies, sails, and operates anywhere international law allows," the 7th Fleet statement continued.

Next British PM could face £23bn autumn spend to cover £900 rise in energy bills
Ministers could face an additional £23bn price tag for covering extra household energy costs of £900 this autumn, rising to £90bn next year, a new paper by the Institute for Government has found. The paper, looking at the options for Liz Truss or Rishi Sunak in No 10, also warned the government should plan for prolonged rises in energy bills by going a lot further in making public appeals to use less gas - for example by informing consumers about the cost savings from turning down thermostats - and in committing to building more energy efficient homes to help protect consumers. No 10 and Kwasi Kwarteng, the business secretary and close ally of Truss, have been resisting appeals to the public to use less energy. However, the next prime minister, likely to be Truss, faces some very difficult choices on entering office on how far to subsidise energy bills. Boris Johnson's government has already spent £33bn on covering 90% of the then predicted increase in energy bills but soaring...

SOTT FOCUS: Nuclear Armageddon? The 'Realist' Fear About Russia-Ukraine Conflict Sparking Nuclear War is Actually Groundless
The US will not intervene directly, because it's not an existential crisis for Washington - it stands to lose little from Kiev's inevitable defeat. Fears that the Ukraine conflict is now bogged down into some sort of stalemate which risks dangerous escalation from the parties involved in order to achieve victory are misplaced. There is only one victor in the Ukraine conflict, and that is Russia. Nothing can change this reality. Renowned American intellectual John Mearsheimer has written an important article about the conflict, entitled: 'Playing with Fire in Ukraine: The Underappreciated Risks of Catastrophic Escalation'. The article paints a dark picture about both the nature of the war in Ukraine (prolonged stalemate) and probable outcome (decisive escalation by the parties involved to stave off defeat). Mearsheimer's underpinning premises, however, are fundamentally flawed. Russia possesses the strategic initiative - militarily, politically, and economically - when it comes to...

BEST OF THE WEB: How to grow your soul
Here is something all of us can do. Every day, make an effort to rejoice in the success of others: particularly success with things that you want for yourself. Think of someone and imagine him or her having a breakthrough, and find that place in yourself that makes you feel happy for that person. Pierce through the pang of jealousy. Let your love for humanity shine through and dispel the darkness of meanness: the close-mindedness, the Gollum-face, the hardened ugliness of being petty and ungrateful.

SOTT FOCUS: NewsReal: Russiagate Redux - FBI Raided Trump to Keep Him Out of White House
The release this week of a farcically redacted affidavit that granted the FBI its warrant to conduct an unprecedented raid on a former president's residence on August 8th underscores what most have intuited - that the move was politically motivated to thwart or prevent Trump from running for president again in 2024. Trump's lawyers in March this year filed a RICO 'anti-conspiracy' lawsuit against the Clinton campaign team, the Democratic Party, the Department of Justice and the FBI itself, seeking restitution for the false allegations of 'Russian collusion' made against him. Whatever information Trump has against them, the raid on Mar-a-Lago was probably intended to forcibly remove from him. This week on NewsReal, Joe and Niall discuss the likelihood of this rank 'political policing' translating into electoral success for Trump, the unravelling 'science of Covid vaccines', European leaders' warnings of 'the end of the age of abundance', and the possibility that the nuclear...

Rockefeller Foundation wants behavioral scientists to come up with more convincing covid vaxx narratives
In yet another sign that the covid vaccination agenda of globalist institutions did not do quite as well as they had originally hoped, the Rockefeller Foundation has revealed that it (along with other non-profits) has been pumping millions of dollars into a behavioral science project meant to figure out why large groups of people around the world refuse to take the jab. The "Mercury Project" is a collective of behavioral scientists formed by the Social Science Research Council (SSRC), a non-profit group which receives considerable funding from globalist organizations and governments. The stated goals of the project are rather non-specific, using ambiguous language and mission statements. However, the root intentions appear to be focused on using behavioral psychology and mass psychology elements to understand the global resistance to the recent covid compliance efforts. Mercury groups will be deployed in multiple nations and regions and will study vaccine refusal and the medical...

What will be the real world consequences of Europe's coming energy crisis?
Anyone with any sense could have seen it coming - Europe is on the precipice of an economic and social crisis not seen since World War II; and they basically did it to themselves. Ever since the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the subsequent NATO sanctions, the talking heads in the mainstream media have consistently fed the public an endless narrative on how the EU doesn't need Russian natural gas. We've heard an array of theories and chest beating from corporate journalists and lying politicians; all of them sounding so certain that Russia would be isolated and economically destroyed within no time. This has not happened, and now the reverse might soon be true for the EU and the UK. To give you a sense of the disinformation being peddled to the public on this issue, take a look at the 10 point "battle plan" put together by the International Energy Agency (IEA) back in March to cut off Russian energy imports and save the EU from a crisis: 1) Don't sign new gas supply contracts with...

Man found dead believed to be victim of dog attack in Nassau, The Bahamas
The man found dead on a sidewalk in the capital over the weekend may have been attacked by dogs, according to police. Officers found a man believed to be in his late 50s to early 60s lying on the sidewalk on the southern side of Palm Tree Avenue around 4:00 am on Saturday. The victim's body reportedly had severe injuries to his lower extremities that appear to be consistent with bite marks. Chief Superintendent Chrislyn Skippings said: "Police are actively investigating and encouraging members of the public who have overly aggressive or uncontrollable dogs that they cannot restrain in aggressive situations or circumstances, consistently bark, are always agitated, fight, create disturbances with other animals, or try to attack people, to ensure their yards are properly secured and enclosed to prevent their animals escaping.

Police chiefs have been issuing secret orders telling officers to inform bosses if they know any news reporters - as they would have to do with convicted criminals or extremists. The measure is already in place in some forces, and follows guidance from the College of Policing, which sets standards in law enforcement. The Castro Merchants Association, named after the city's Castro District, sent a letter to San Francisco city officials saying group members who own businesses in the area plan to stop paying taxes if the city doesn't do more to address the problems, reported KTVU. In the letter, the organization complained of homeless people who "regularly experience psychotic episodes," vandalize storefronts, and harass business owners, employees, residents and tourists.
