Outbreak of mysterious 'tomato flu' virus strikes 82 children under 5 in India
The Indian government has issued an advisory to all states amid the spread of a new type of influenza. Predominantly affecting minors, the viral disease results in the formation of red blisters that look like tomatoes - hence the condition's name, tomato flu. According to a statement released by India's Health Ministry on Tuesday, more than 82 cases involving children under five have been reported, with the disease prevalent in the country's southern states. The first case of the flu was reported in Kerala state on May 6. Although scientists believe the new flu to be a type of hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD), they have so far been unable to identify the exact nature of the pathogen.

Ukraine - Europe's main supplier of human organs
Ukraine throughout its "independent" history has been the main supplier of human organs to Europe and the United States. The profitable business, which was run by entire criminal groups, was under threat after the start of the Special Military Operation: the logistics were disrupted, and the "clients" fled. But the Zelensky government came to the aid of partners. A number of Ukrainian analysts claim that it was the pharmaceutical lobby that pushed through the initiative with soldiers' wills. Recall: the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine allowed the commanders of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to certify the wills of military personnel under martial law. There is information that there will be an addition to each will: in the event of death, the military will bequeath his organs to the state, well, or for good purposes. "The sale of organs, even in peacetime, was put on a stream," says Elena Shishkina, chairman of the DPR People's Republic Committee on Criminal and Administrative...

Rare colorful ruins at the Temple of Cupra in Italy illuminate 2000 years of Roman History
Located in the Marche region of Italy, Cupra Marittima was a powerful outpost of the Roman Empire in the past, unlike today. The remains of the ancient temple of Cupra have been unearthed on the Adriatic coast. In the study carried out by archaeologists, they found the frescoed walls and ceiling of the 2000-year-old temple painted in yellow, blue, red, black and green tones. Also found in the temple of Cupra, walls decorated with floral wreaths, tiny palm paintings, and candlesticks. Archaeologist Marco Giglio (research project coordinator of the field and Professor at the University of Naples L'Orientale) said, "It is extremely rare to find ancient Roman temples whose interiors are covered with paintings."

Zelensky praises Neo-Nazi soldier on social media
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky posted a picture of a soldier wearing the insignia of a notorious Nazi SS division to his official Instagram account on Wednesday. The post, part of a series celebrating Ukraine's Independence Day, was not the first piece of Nazi iconography shared by Zelensky. Zelensky posted the image on Instagram early on Wednesday. In it, a Ukrainian soldier carrying a rifle displays the standard of the 14th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS, also known as the 1st Galician division. Comprising predominantly Ukrainian volunteers from the Galicia region (which spans what is now southwestern Poland and western Ukraine), the division is known for committing war crimes against Polish civilians during the course of World War II.

Student loan relief seen costing billions and favoring top earners
Forgiving student loan debt will cost between $300 billion and $980 billion over 10 years, according to a new analysis, with the majority of relief going toward borrowers in the top 60% of earners. The Penn Wharton Budget Model estimate was released Tuesday ahead of President Joe Biden's long-anticipated decision as soon as this week on whether to forgive some student loan debt. White House officials have been trying to combat critiques that such a move would add to rampant inflation that's become a political liability for Biden and his fellow Democrats. The Penn Wharton budget group, based out of the University of Pennsylvania and run by a top former Treasury official under Republican President George W. Bush, is influential with key Capitol Hill lawmakers, including Democratic Senator Joe Manchin. The group estimated that between 69% and 73% of any debt forgiven would accrue to households that rank in the top 60% of the US's income distribution. Biden allies and debt-relief...

Go woke, get the hell out: Texas bans Wall Street giants Blackrock, Credit Suisse and others over energy boycott
BlackRock, BNP Paribas, and Credit Suisse are among the list of firms that Texas has just issued that will now be banned from working with the state due to their hostility to the energy industry. After almost a year of suspense that cost banks business as Texas municipal-bond issuers avoided firms whose status was unclear amid the probe, Bloomberg reports that Glenn Hegar, the Republican state comptroller, on Wednesday named the firms he will prohibit from entering into most contracts with the state and its local entities after his office found they "boycott" the fossil fuel sector. More than 150 firms were sent detailed inquiries, requesting information on whether they were shunning the oil and gas industry in favor of sustainable investing and financing goals.

'No mercy' for killers of Russian journalist - Lavrov
Moscow will show no mercy towards those responsible for the death of Darya Dugina, Russian Foreign Minister Segey Lavrov has said. Investigators have accused Kiev of masterminding a plot to kill the journalist and political commentator in a car bombing. "I consider it a barbaric crime for which no forgiveness can be granted," Lavrov said on Wednesday, when asked about the murder, which took place on Saturday evening. The Russian investigation into the assassination will hopefully identify all the culprits soon, the minister added. "Certainly, the organizers, the middlemen and the executors can get no mercy," he said. When asked whether the killing was "an act of terrorism or personalized retaliation," Lavrov declined to offer a judgment. He made the comments during a joint press conference with his Syrian counterpart, Faisal Mekdad, in the Russian capital.

Zelensky 'has reasons to fear' tribunal - Moscow
President Volodymyr Zelensky fears that his complicity in war crimes will be exposed during a planned trial of Ukrainian troops, the speaker of the Russian State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, has claimed. This is why he threatened to cut off all talks with Moscow if Russia's ally in Donbass goes ahead with plans to launch a tribunal in Mariupol later this month. Writing on social media on Tuesday, Volodin said "everybody" is looking forward to the tribunal, except Zelensky, "who considers it unacceptable." "He and the Kiev regime have reasons to be afraid. He and his inner circle ordered to bomb, shoot and kill peaceful citizens: the elderly, women, children. That is why Zelensky is doing everything to prevent the tribunal." The lawmaker was referring to a statement Zelensky made on Monday about the scheduled trial of Ukrainian troops captured by the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), an ally of Russia. The Ukrainian leader called the proceedings a "despicable show trial" and "the line...

Ukraine will seize Crimea 'by any means necessary' - Zelensky
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky announced on Tuesday that Ukraine will take the Russian territory of Crimea, by military force if necessary and without consulting any country, including Kiev's Western backers. The Ukrainian military's strikes on the peninsula have thus far been limited. Speaking at the so-called 'Crimea Platform', a Ukrainian-organized gathering of 60 nations and international organizations that back Kiev's claim of sovereignty over Crimea. According to Strana.ua, a Ukrainian news outlet, Zelensky said: "Ukraine is strong and powerful enough to make the idea of a "Ukrainian Crimea" a reality. "We will return Crimea by any means that we consider correct, without consulting with other countries. I know that Crimea is with Ukraine, [and] is waiting for us to return. We need to win the fight against Russian aggression. Therefore, we need to free Crimea from occupation.

Biden pledges nearly $3 billion to Ukraine in largest U.S. military aid package yet
U.S. President Joe Biden has announced nearly $3 billion in new U.S. military aid for Kyiv as Ukraine marked its independence day six months after Russia invaded the country. Biden said in a statement on August 24: "On behalf of all Americans, I congratulate the people of Ukraine on their Independence Day. The United States of America is committed to supporting the people of Ukraine as they continue the fight to defend their sovereignty. As part of that commitment, I am proud to announce our biggest tranche of security assistance to date: approximately $2.98 billion of weapons and equipment to be provided through the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative." The financial package will allow Kyiv to obtain air-defense and artillery systems, ammunition, counter-unmanned aerial systems, and radars, the statement said. In FBI vs. Trump, the people lose
Investigating Trump for an Espionage Act violation, the FBI must have him over a barrel, we are told. Does anyone remember Russiagate? For my money, the early beneficiary of the FBI's espionage investigation of Donald Trump is Donald Trump. According to the Washington Post, "Trump has told advisers that in the nearly two years since leaving office, no issue had better galvanized Republican voters around him." A Politico poll of Republican voters in the aftermath of the Mar-a-Lago raid gave Trump a 10-point boost over his closest possible primary rival, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. Trump's ensuing fundraising campaign has done even better, quickly topping $1 million on at least two days, a jump of at least 700%. Over the long run, it is difficult to form a conclusive judgment on Trump's potential culpability in the absence of any confirmed detail about both the contents of the documents that Trump allegedly mishandled, and the evidence to support the Justice Department's suspicions....

Migration, farming and language development across the Southern Arc revealed in vast paleogenetic study
In a trio of papers, published simultaneously in the journal Science, Ron Pinhasi from the Department of Evolutionary Anthropology and Human Evolution and Archaeological Sciences (HEAS) at the University of Vienna and Songül Alpaslan-Roodenberg from the University of Vienna and Harvard University, Iosif Lazaridis and David Reich at Harvard University — together with 202 co-authors — report a massive effort of genome-wide sequencing from 727 distinct ancient individuals with which it was possible to test longstanding archaeological, genetic and linguistic hypotheses. They present a systematic picture of the interlinked histories of peoples across the Southern Arc Region from the origins of agriculture, to late medieval times. In the first paper the international team investigated the homeland and the spread of Anatolian and Indo-European languages. The genetic results suggest that the homeland of the Indo-Anatolian language family was in West Asia, with only secondary dispersals of...

Global Tantalus
In the future, we will live in a high-tech surveillance state, our every movement, word, and even thought tracked by implanted chips feeding our data into a planetary grid encompassed by swarming multitudes of networked drones, sensors, and satellites from which nothing is invisible. Our cities will be antiseptic multi-ethnic utopias where light monorail systems powered by sunlight speed down gleaming white streets. The inhabitants will be androgynous vegans and insectivores, their psychologies carefully curated by scientifically designed curricula, social credit and cognitive nudge systems, and psychopharmacogenetic therapies all aligning to remove every trace of such antisocial traits as nativism, masculinity, sexual jealousy, or the selfish desire to own things. Agriculture will be a thing of the past, for the soylent, vegetation, and insect protein that sustains the posthumans will be manufactured in agricultural towers that require no soil or rainwater to work. Canadian 'climate ministry' will have arms storage and detention rooms - media
The facility for Trudeau's new climate cops includes a massive firearms storage space and interrogation rooms. A Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) facility under construction in Winnipeg includes a sizable firearms storage room, as well as multiple evidence rooms and interrogation rooms, according to CounterSignal. The outlet, which claims to have received a leaked copy of the architectural plans as drawn up by a Winnipeg firm, published a snapshot showing some of the more disturbing labels on Tuesday. The sprawling 50,000 square-foot building also encases biological labs, media relations offices, a weather forecasting station, and - perhaps most disturbing, given the implications - facilities for housing hundreds of people, including "enforcement officers" working for the ECCC. The "enforcement officers" are essentially climate police, endowed with equivalent authority by the 2019 Impact Assessment Act, which purports to be legislation aiming to reduce the...

Intelligence operative confirms British gov't is targeting The Grayzone
A public call to ban The Grayzone by a UK Foreign Office veteran and psy-ops specialist confirms the malign intentions of British intelligence. The Arvamusfestival (Opinion Festival) convened this August by the Estonian Foreign Ministry featured as its centerpiece an English-language panel on "how to deal with misinformation...in the interests of curbing its propagation." During the discussion, a British state operative named Ross Burley descended into a rant about The Grayzone, demanding it be banned from YouTube on the baseless grounds that it is a "Russian propaganda outfit."

Journalists who challenge NATO narratives are now 'information terrorists'
A US state department sponsored round table on 'countering disinformation' was recently held at the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine. Delegates discussed 'disinformation methods' used in Ukraine and abroad. On the agenda was legal and state prevention of 'fakes and disinformation in the context of cyber security'. Andrii Shapovalov, head of the Ukrainian Centre for Combatting Disinformation emphasized that those who 'deliberately spread disinformation are information terrorists'. Shapovalov recommended changes to the legislation to crack down on these terrorists - reminiscent of the pre-WW2 Nazi Germany suppression of media and information channels. Justice Centre brings legal challenge against ArriveCAN and quarantine measures
The Justice Centre filed a lawsuit today in the Federal Court of Canada, on behalf of 11 Canadians either fined for not using the ArriveCAN and/or ordered to quarantine for 14 days after returning home from abroad. The Applicants involved in this legal challenge have received fines of up to $8,500 each and been forced to disclose private medical information via ArriveCAN. The legal challenge seeks to strike down the mandatory use of ArriveCAN and declare unconstitutional the 14-day quarantine requirements for Canadians who refuse to use ArriveCAN when returning home. ArriveCan was initially implemented in April 2020 to force Canadian citizens returning home to submit quarantine plans due to Covid. It was mandated for air travellers November 21, 2020. In February 2021, the federal government mandated ArriveCan for all land travellers, while the US-Canada land crossing was still closed. After the Covid vaccine rollouts, travellers were required to upload their vaccination...

Caught red-handed: Facebook and Twitter delete pro-western bot networks - study
Data provided by the social media giants showed a web of linked accounts pushing pro-US and anti-Russia narratives. Twitter and Facebook have deleted a network of suspicious accounts said to be involved in "covert influence operations" online, including efforts to promote "pro-Western" sentiment and demonize US adversaries, according to company data analyzed by researchers at Stanford University. Partnering with social media analytics firm Graphika, the Stanford Internet Observatory issued a report on Wednesday outlining the alleged influence ops, citing datasets provided by both Twitter and Meta, Facebook's parent company.

Don't go searching for terrorists, they are not hard to find
May I just spit it out? We are the terrorists. Americans are the terrorists creating tremendous suffering and tragedy around the world. And no, I am not the only one admitting to this. Deep down, all of my fellow citizens know what we are up to. A recent incident in Yemen drives home the hegemony my country has created, looted, and still loots the whole world. I watched talk show host Jimmy Dore a few moments ago, laying out how the US, France, and other nations are robbing other people of this world to prop up failed super-capitalism. Dore, who has an uncanny ability to drive at the heart of matters, was interviewing Ethiopian-American Journalist Hermela Aregawi in a story about the French Foreign Legion securing Yemeni natural gas for sale to the EU. The story begins something like this from The New Arab: "France could be gearing up to help protect a gas facility in Yemen to allow for exports in a bid to cut Europe's reliance on Russia, according to an ex-Yemeni foreign...
