The FSB claims that it has stopped literally hundreds of terrorist plots and attacks ranging from assassinations to sabotage actions and possibly even mass terrorism. Waterspout, flooding hits Mykonos and Santorini, Greece
A waterspout and flooding hit the islands of Mykonos and Santorini on Tuesday as bad weather has spread to most parts of Greece. Waterspout on Long Island Sound filmed
Scattered storms in the area Tuesday afternoon produced a waterspout in Long Island Sound. The waterspout was captured on video between New London and Orient Point, New York around 1:20 p.m. by a passenger on the Cross Sound Ferry. A waterspout is most simply explained as a tornado over water instead of over land. Waterspouts may move from water to land (and would become a tornado on land) or vice versa. This waterspout stayed over the water.

Australian schools dock pay to 'discipline' unvaccinated teachers
Move comes two months after mandate was reversed, but failure to comply must always be punished. Hundreds of unvaccinated teachers in the Australian state of Queensland are facing up to five months of reduced pay as a "disciplinary measure" for refusing to be "vaccinated" against Covid19. Queensland introduced rules mandating covid "vaccines" for all teachers in December of 2021. Those who would not comply were placed on unpaid leave and "investigated": In December 2021, unvaccinated teachers were suspended without pay and investigated for failing to obey a direction from the Department of Education. The mandate was reversed in June of this year, but teachers returning to work will now face further "discipline" - 18 weeks of pay reduction. That's right, having already faced months of suspension without pay, the teachers now face further punitive measures for refusing to comply with a rule that isn't even in place anymore.

Six months into Ukraine's collapse, the world has changed forever
The inevitable transfer of power away from the west is leading to a surge in state-sponsored terrorism, but this will do little to reverse the trend Six months after the start of the Special Military Operation (SMO) by Russia in Ukraine, the geopolitical tectonic plates of the 21st century have been dislocated at astonishing speed and depth - with immense historical repercussions already at hand. To paraphrase T.S. Eliot, this is the way the (new) world begins, not with a whimper but a bang. The cold-blooded assassination of Darya Dugina - terrorism at the gates of Moscow - may have fatefully coincided with the six-month intersection point, but will do nothing to change the dynamics of the current, work-in-progress, historical shift. Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) appeared to have cracked the case in a little over 24 hours, designating the perpetrator as a neo-Nazi Azov operative instrumentalized by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) - itself a mere tool of the CIA/MI6...

EU: Controlled Demolition
As I read through the multitude of daily news articles about Russia, Ukraine, NATO and EU, it's getting ever harder to escape the idea that there is a controlled demolition of the continent happening. And that neither its "leaders", and certainly not its people, have any say in this. All we get from those "leaders" are NATO or World Economic Forum talking points. The only independent voice is Victor Orban. Who is either silenced in western media or painted as fully insane. But Orban's Hungarians won't freeze this coming winter. He just signed a new gas deal with Russia. The main reason that is provided for all the others not doing that is of course Russia's Special Military Operation in Ukraine. Which is as insane as Orban is, and "totally unprovoked", say the western media. Noam Chomsky summarized that best: "Of course it was provoked. Otherwise they wouldn't refer to it all the time as an unprovoked invasion." And no, it wasn't just Russia/Ukraine, way before that Europe had...

2022 is Atlantic hurricane season's least active start in 30 years
The 2022 Atlantic hurricane season is off to its quietest start in 30 years, but history suggests it won't end up that way. After a pair of western Gulf tropical disturbances failed to develop the past two weekends, we remain stuck on three named storms so far this season: Alex, Bonnie and Colin. While the number of storms isn't pacing far below the season-to-date average, Colorado State University tropical scientist Phil Klotzbach pointed out it was the first time in 40 years that no named storms formed from July 3 - August 22 in the Atlantic Basin. Another metric meteorologists use to gauge a season's activity has also flatlined.

Macron warns France of 'a new era of sacrifices and the end of abundance'
French President Emmanuel Macron warned on Wednesday that France faced "sacrifices" in a new era marked by the climate crisis and instability caused by Russia's invasion of Ukraine that signalled "the end of abundance". After a summer marked by drought, massive wildfires and continuing loss of life in Ukraine, the 44-year-old leader delivered a stark speech at the start of the first cabinet meeting after the country's traditional August holiday break. "I believe that we are in the process of living through a tipping point or great upheaval. "Firstly because we are living through... the end of what could seem like the end of abundance."

Venezuela halts oil shipments to Europe demanding new concessions under US sanctions, rejects oil-for-debt deals
The writing is on the wall for Europe in terms of this coming winter - It's going to get ugly. With natural gas imports from Russia cut by 80% through Nord Stream 1 along with the majority of oil shipments, the EU is going to be scrambling for whatever fuel sources they can find to supply electricity and heating through the coming winter. Two sources that were originally suggested as alternatives were Iran and Venezuela. Increased Iranian oil and gas exports to the west are highly dependent on the tentative nuclear deal, but as Goldman Sachs recently suggested, such a deal is unlikely anytime soon as deadlines on proposals have not been met and the Israeli government calls for negotiators to 'walk away.'

Biden admin sending billions to Ukraine as America falls apart
There is a video clip making the rounds showing President Biden speaking at a recent NATO summit about the seven billion dollars the US government had - at that time - provided to Ukraine. Attached to that is another clip showing the horrific state of several US major cities, including in Pennsylvania, California, and Ohio. The video of American cities is shocking: endless landscapes of filth, trash, homelessness, open fires on the street, drug-addicted zombies. It doesn't look like the America most of us remember. Watching Biden bragging about sending billions of dollars to corrupt leaders overseas with American cities looking like bombed-out Iraq or Libya is US foreign policy in a nutshell. The Washington elites tell the rest of America that they must "promote democracy" in some far-off land. Anyone who objects is considered in league with the appointed enemy of the day. Once it was Saddam, then Assad and Gaddafi. Now it's Putin. The game is the same, only the names are changed.

Priorities: Western nations pledge $85bln for proxy war in Ukraine, nearly double the amount the UN needs to help over 200 million people
UN aid agencies are facing their biggest funding gap ever as a result of both the large number of crises unfolding across the world and of the west prioritizing relief funds for Ukraine. Since the start of the year, the UN has raised less than one-third of the funds needed to help hundreds of millions across the world, with donor countries prioritizing aid for Ukraine's overwhelmingly white and Christian populace than for people fleeing violence and famine in West Asia and Africa. "The war in Ukraine has illustrated, very starkly, how it is possible to rapidly and extensively mobilize support for refugees and respond to humanitarian needs — when political commitment is there," Kathryn Mahoney, the global spokeswoman for the UNHCR, told the New York Times. Comment: Except the West's proxy-war in Ukraine has been manufactured in their failing attempt to destroy Russia, and could be resolved by the West simply not funding the Nazi allied military in Ukraine, meanwhile (at least some...

Chicago Public Schools' radical agenda gets uglier: 'Equity' video promotes looting and burning
Looting and burning is a pathway to social justice. That's the message from a video recently added by Chicago Public Schools to its website as a response to perceived economic injustice for blacks. The district calls the video an "equity tool," but the reality is it promotes hopelessness. Titled "How Can We Win?," the video's message is clear: there is no way. Better to riot, loot, and burn. It sounds unbelievable, but in Chicago's schools, it's not. Some CPS students have difficult lives. Too many face the possibility of violent crime and gang harassment, and loss of friends and family. Schools, and CPS in particular, are meant to be places of hope and growth, where learning can be a ticket to a better life. CPS leadership and teachers are meant to push kids beyond where they are, to help them read and do math and to think and to succeed. There's no question that's a challenging objective. But there must be optimism, high expectations, and possibility running through it all.

Evidence of Ukrainian shelling of Zaporozhye provided to UN
The Russian envoy briefed the Security Council on recent attacks on the nuclear plant and submitted photos. Russia has submitted photographic evidence of Ukrainian attacks on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant to the UN Security Council and the General Assembly, ambassador Vassily Nebenzia said on Tuesday. He also briefed the Security Council on the most recent attacks, some of which involved NATO-supplied weapons, and insisted that Russia does not use the site as a military base. "Despite the false statements of the Kiev regime and its backers, Russia has not placed heavy weapons on the territory of the ZNPP and does not use the station for military purposes," Nebenzia said during the council's emergency session on Tuesday afternoon. "The Russian Ministry of Defense is ready to provide the IAEA with high-resolution images, which show that weapons, especially heavy ones, are not placed on the territory of the station," he added.

Russia-appointed official in Ukraine killed in car bombing
The Moscow-appointed mayor of the Russia-occupied Ukrainian town of Mykhaylivka, Ivan Sushko, has been killed by a car bomb. A representative of Russia-imposed authorities in parts of Ukraine's Zaporizhzhya region, Volodymyr Rogov, wrote on Telegram on August 24 that Sushko died in the hospital after a bomb "intentionally placed under the seat of his vehicle" exploded. Since Russia began installing officials in areas it has taken control of since launching its unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, several have come under attack.

Met Police veteran says modern officers are 'too woke' and British public are 'losing faith' in forces
A Metropolitan police veteran said modern officers are "too woke" and the British public are "losing faith" in forces across the country. Norman Brennan, who has been a police officer for 31 years, said when he joined the force, officers didn't need to "paint our faces" or have "multi coloured police cars". His comments come just days after Lincolnshire Police officers were slammed for doing the Macarena during a Gay Pride celebration.

59% of Americans worry student loan forgiveness will make inflation worse, CNBC survey finds
Some experts believe the Biden administration could announce a decision on whether to extend a more than two-year-long pause on federal student loan debt this week, ahead of the current Aug. 31 deadline. Many borrowers are hoping the Education Department will extend that break and announce up to $10,000 in loan forgiveness. Currently, about 44 million borrowers owe a collective $1.7 trillion in federal student loan debt. Yet, a new poll finds Americans worry that debt forgiveness could have unintended consequences.

UN diplomat dodges NYC rape rap thanks to diplomatic immunity: cops
A United Nations diplomat was accused of raping one of his neighbors in Upper Manhattan over the weekend — but NYPD cops released him because he has diplomatic immunity, authorities said Monday. Charles Dickens Imene Oliha, 46 — a career diplomat for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in South Sudan — was arrested in Sunday's alleged sex assault on a woman inside her apartment around noon, according to a police report obtained by The Post. Oliha was taken into custody on suspicion of rape and brought in for questioning, cops said.

Pakistan's Khan charged under anti-terrorism laws after accusing state officials of torture and conspiracy
Pakistan's political temperature shot up another notch when former Prime Minister Imran Khan was charged by police under anti-terrorism laws after making accusatory comments during a public rally. While he has not responded to the charges himself, his lawyers appealed for pre-arrest bail on Monday at the Islamabad High Court, which granted Khan protective bail until Thursday, when he is likely to appear before an anti-terrorism court in the capital. Why was Imran Khan charged?
