Protesters surround New Zealand parliament
A crowd of demonstrators took to the streets to denounce remaining Covid mandates. Protesters converged around New Zealand's parliament to condemn the government's response to the Covid-19 pandemic, drawing a heavy police response and a crowd of counter-demonstrators. Tuesday's action saw around 2,000 people gather at the parliament building in Wellington, according to the Associated Press, which noted that law enforcement had made preparations in the area to prevent any major unrest, blocking off roads, erecting barricades, and barring demonstrators from bringing structures onto the grounds.

Irony: Teachers union head who is partnered with left-wing disinformation group shares fake news
American Federation of Teachers (AFT) President Randi Weingarten admitted to sharing fake news Sunday when the union leader published a list of supposedly banned books in Florida. "Books we have taught for generations!" Weingarten wrote in a quote tweet amplifying the list from an account called "Freesus Patriot," which refused to reveal its sources. Titles include classics from "To Kill a Mockingbird" and "The Handmaid's Tale" to the Harry Potter novels. The list of purportedly blacklisted books, however, was entirely made up, with many remaining in K-12 curricula throughout the state. "My bad," Weingarten wrote in a follow-up post. "Looks like some of the books weren't banned."

Lightning kills over 50 sheep in northern Greece
More than 50 sheep were killed in the region of Vlacha in Metsovo, northern Greece, after they were struck by lightning during a midday thunderstorm on Tuesday. According to state broadcaster ERT, the frequent thunderstorms that have broken out in recent days are particularly intense with lots of lightning. Greece is high on the list of recorded deaths of people struck by lightning in Europe. "Unfortunately, Greece has statistically probably the highest number of deaths than other countries in Europe due to lightning," said the training director of the Hellenic Rescue Team, Zafiris Trombakas, in an interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency's radio station. SOTT FOCUS: Objective:Health - Diet "Experts" Still Trying to Get You to Go Vegetarian
The push to get the general public to stop eating meat and go vegetarian continues at pace, with a new study in the Lancet attempting to misguide. Interestingly, the diet dictocrats have been forced to drop (somewhat) the old red-meat-and-fat-raises-cholesterol-leading-to-heart-attack nonsense, simply because, as people have become more aware of the scam, it's no longer possible to steamroll over the truth. But fear not. There's a new way meat is going to murder you in your sleep: TMAO. Trimethylamin N-oxide is an organic compound generated from the metabolism of a number of nutrients found in meat. Aside from the fact that the Lancet study was poorly designed, the assumption that TMAO causes cardiovascular issues is extremely tenuous. Similarly, the food that most boosts TMAO is fish, not meat, a fact the study fails to mention. It would appear that "official science" is hoping to get as much traction out of the TMAO myth as they did out of the cholesterol myth, and their...

Summer thunderstorms flood streets and homes in Athens and northern Greece - 3 inches of rain in an hour
The short but intense spells of thunderstorms on Monday night to early Tuesday morning led to the flooding of major streets in and around Athens and Thessaloniki, and trees were uprooted in northern Greece. No injuries have been reported thus far, but, in Ptolemaida in northern Greece and nearby villages, flooding in basements of homes led to additional firefighters being summoned to help from the regions of Epirus and West Macedonia. Since Monday night, these included a total of fifty firefighters with twenty trucks. Water was pumped out in forty-five homes, basements, and professional spaces, and in a farming village about ten kilometers from Ptolemaida, the village of Ardassa saw over three inches of rainfall in nearly an hour. There were reports of flooded agricultural fields, irrigation channels, and overwhelmed drainage channels.

Hail, torrential rain leave at least 31 dead in Tibetan-populated areas of China
Hail and heavy rain caused the deaths of at least 31 people in Tibetan-populated counties in northwestern China's Qinghai and Gansu provinces, Tibetan sources said. More than 2,000 heads of livestock were also killed in the storms. In Mangra (in Chinese, Guinan) county of Tsolho (Hainan) Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in China's Qinghai province, where five people and the livestock perished, hail and rain on Saturday caused significant damage, including the destruction of tents used by nomads, a Tibetan from the region and one who lives in exile told RFA. "The flooding actually came from the nomadic region of Panchen and Panchung [in Mangra county]," said the Tibetan inside the region.

NASA's stunning new images of Jupiter show planet in unprecedented detail, including auroras and haze
With giant storms, powerful winds, auroras, and extreme temperature and pressure conditions, Jupiter has a lot going on. Now, NASA's James Webb Space Telescope has captured new images of the planet. Webb's Jupiter observations will give scientists even more clues to Jupiter's inner life. "We hadn't really expected it to be this good, to be honest," said planetary astronomer Imke de Pater, professor emerita of the University of California, Berkeley. De Pater led the observations of Jupiter with Thierry Fouchet, a professor at the Paris Observatory, as part of an international collaboration for Webb's Early Release Science program. Webb itself is an international mission led by NASA with its partners ESA (European Space Agency) and CSA (Canadian Space Agency). "It's really remarkable that we can see details on Jupiter together with its rings, tiny satellites, and even galaxies in one image," she said.

9 year-old girl shot dead in Liverpool after gunman chased man into house - police
A nine-year-old girl was fatally shot in Liverpool after a gunman burst into her family's home chasing another man who did not live there, police said. Merseyside police named the victim as Olivia Pratt-Korbel, who was getting ready for bed at the time. Serena Kennedy, the force's chief constable, said the girl's family had been "torn apart" by the shooting in the Dovecot area of the city on Monday night. They were "absolutely devastated, inconsolable and heartbroken", she added. Police said Olivia's mother, Cheryl Korbel, appeared to have opened her front door in Kingsheath Avenue to see what was happening after hearing shots in the street. A 35-year-old man then forced his way into the house followed by the gunman.

UK PM candidate Liz Truss says she is 'ready' to use nukes
Liz Truss feels "ready" to launch Trident nuclear weapons, the frontrunner for Conservative leadership declared at Tuesday's hustings in Birmingham, UK, saying that making decisions like this is an "important duty of the prime minister." The foreign secretary did not elaborate on which country the UK might be persuaded to use nuclear weapons against. She has delivered plenty of hawkish rhetoric along the campaign trail, primarily targeting Russia, and is an avid booster of the Ukrainian cause. Truss also pledged to raise military spending by 3% of GDP by the end of the decade.

UFO shot down an ICBM in 1964 claims alleged witness
In September 1964, Dr. Robert Jacobs watched a short video that changed his life. "I was part of a government cover-up for 17 years. I was the officer in charge of photographic instrumentation at Vandenberg Air Force Base from 1963 to 66." Bob Jacobs said in an October 2021 press conference. He was in charge of a 100-man unit responsible for photographing and videoing top secret intercontinental ballistic missile tests. Stationed in what is now Vandenberg Space Force Base near Los Angeles, California, his boss Major Mansmann asked him to install a new super long-range video camera system north in Big Sur. The new theodolite, or telescope, could "see with clarity at 160 miles! (257km) It was incredible," Jacobs described. Lieutenant Jacobs did as ordered. He took his team to Big Sur, a picturesque national park near Monterrey in Central California, and set up the massive new device. It proved much more capable than the previous system.

A major food crisis coming in 2023? "Prices will be on steroids after the election"
We are being warned that food prices in the U.S. are going to go absolutely haywire after the election in November. I am taking such warnings very seriously, and I believe that you should too. Global officials have been telling us over and over again that we are heading into an unprecedented global food crisis, and I have been writing about this again and again in recent weeks. But so far, the vast majority of the population doesn't seem to be taking this seriously. Agricultural production is going to be way below expectations all over the planet in 2022, and that means that there will be far less food to go around in 2023. Let me give you a perfect example of what I am talking about. Just within the last couple of days, it has been reported that there will be crop losses "of up to 50 percent" in the German state of Baden-Württemberg... Crop losses of up to 50 percent are now expected in parts of Germany due to drought, farmers in affected regions have claimed. Up to half of the...

Poland blasts EU's 'imperialistic tendencies'
Although Brussels claims to be standing up to the "imperialist" threat posed by Russia, the EU itself is not free of "imperialistic tendencies," Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau said in a lengthy opinion piece for the Polish Rzeczpospolita journal published on Monday. Germany is one of the driving forces behind these aspirations, he added. Some of the more powerful member states of the EU have often attempted to "dominate [their] partners, impose [their] arguments on them, disregard their rights, interests and needs," while paying "no attention to their protests," Rau stated, calling for reforms to strengthen the role of smaller states in the decision-making processes. The increased role of the majority vote in the EU decision-making process advocated by Berlin poses a particular threat to freedom and equality within the bloc, Rau believes. "Small and medium-sized states, who are disproportionately less capable of building effective coalitions" are 'doomed to lose' the vote...

'Solid' reasons to microchip kids - WEF
Human implant technologies will soon become a commodity, a blog post published on the World Economic Forum's website last week suggests, arguing that there are "solid, rational" reasons for microchipping children with location trackers. The author, Vice President R&D of the Interuniversity Microelectronics Center (IMEC) Kathleen Philips, argues that augmented reality technology "has the ability to transform society and individual lives" and despite sounding "scary," will undergo the same "natural evolution" as wearable tech. "Hearing aids or glasses no longer carry a stigma. They are accessories and are even considered a fashion item. Likewise, implants will evolve into a commodity. The limits on implants are going to be set by ethical arguments rather than scientific capacity." Philips believes an augmented society is more or less inevitable and that the real question is how it will be regulated.

Litigation by leak: Government officials leak new details on the Mar-a-Lago raid while continuing to oppose disclosures in court
One of the most glaring contradictions in the Mar-a-Lago controversy has been the Justice Department demanding absolute and unwavering secrecy over the FBI raid while officials have been leaking details on the raid. The latest example is a report in the New York Times that the Justice Department recovered more than 300 documents with classified markings, citing multiple sources connected to the investigation. Most judges would be a tad annoyed by the contradiction as the government continues to frame the public debate with its own selective leaks while using secrecy to bar other disclosures. That includes sections of the affidavit that detail the communications with the Trump team, information that is already known to the target. Someone is clearly lying. The Trump Team said that it was cooperating and would have given access to the government if it raised further objections. The Justice Department has clearly indicated that time was of the essence to justify this unprecedented...

Where is Steven D'Antuono?
A few days after the Capitol protest on January 6, 2021, a tough-talking FBI chief with a Boston accent promised the American people that the bureau would spare no resource in hunting down everyone and anyone involved in the four-hour disturbance that day. Steven M. D'Antuono, the newly appointed head of the Washington, D.C. FBI field office, gave the public a stern warning during a January 12, 2021 press conference at the Department of Justice. "The FBI will leave no stone unturned. This is a 24/7, full bore, extensive operation. As Director Wray says, the FBI does not do easy." His agency, D'Antuono bragged, has a "long memory and a broad reach." Agents from 56 FBI field offices across the country "will be knocking on your door if we find out you were part of the criminal activity at the Capitol." He urged people to turn in their co-workers, neighbors, and relatives if they had information that could help the FBI in its dragnet.

Senator lays groundwork for potential Fauci probe
Fresh from vowing to investigate chief White House medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci for his role in the Covid-19 pandemic, Senator Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) has demanded that President Joe Biden's administration preserve documents and messages that could become evidence in the potential probe. Paul, who has sparred with Fauci in Senate hearings over government funding of potentially dangerous virus research, sent a letter to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) on Tuesday, calling for the Covid-19 czar's documents and communications to be saved. The demand came one day after Fauci announced that, effective in December, he would step down as Biden's chief medical adviser and as director of the NIH's National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).
