Evidence that giant meteorite impacts formed Earth's continents
New research has provided the strongest evidence yet that Earth's continents were formed by giant meteorite impacts that were particularly prevalent during the first billion years or so of our planet's four-and-a-half-billion year history. New Curtin research has provided the strongest evidence yet that Earth's continents were formed by giant meteorite impacts that were particularly prevalent during the first billion years or so of our planet's four-and-a-half-billion year history. Dr Tim Johnson, from Curtin's School of Earth and Planetary Sciences, said the idea that the continents originally formed at sites of giant meteorite impacts had been around for decades, but until now there was little solid evidence to support the theory.

Scott Ritter: 'They've bankrupted themselves': Europe gutted its own security to funnel weapons to Kiev
Ukraine's European benefactors made a big show of rushing military aid to Kiev in the early months of Russia's special military operation, but the torrent has waned to a trickle since then, with no new pledges being made in July. One military expert said Europe is running out of both equipment and willpower to support the "horribly corrupt regime." Scott Ritter, a military analyst and former US Marine Corps intelligence officer, told Sputnik on Thursday that NATO's policy of giving Ukraine billions of dollars in weapons that so quickly get destroyed is "inefficient and counterproductive" from both a political and a national security point of view." The more Europe invests its military capacity into Ukraine, the weaker Europe gets," Ritter said.

'Best' UFO picture ever, the Calvine photo, found after 30 years missing
On August 4, 1990, two hikers near Calvine in Scotland took a photograph of a mysterious, diamond-shaped flying object hovering in the middle of the sky. For 32 years that image, dubbed the "Calvine photo," disappeared from the public eye, becoming the object of speculation, theories and myths. But now, the groundbreaking image has finally resurfaced thanks to the efforts of British journalist David Clarke. After 13 years of research, Clarke — who has worked as a curator for Britain's National Archives and is currently an associate professor at Sheffield Hallam University — found that former Royal Air Force (RAF) press officer Craig Lindsay had held on to a copy of the last remaining original print, waiting for someone to enquire about the mysterious image.

Oarfish from the ocean depths caught in the Mediterranean Sea in rare event
Many call it King of the Herring , others simply " oarfish ". Several indicate it as snake fish or scabbard fish; from the Ionian and Lucanian parts they also call it belt fish. Normally, it lives in the ocean depths and it is rare to see it in the Mediterranean . The fact is, that, in recent days, two fishing enthusiasts, Giandomenico Capodiferro from Laterza and Giovanni Torcivia from Taranto , have caught one two meters long. A rare specimen They were on the state-owned shoreline of Metaponto, a stone's throw from Marina di Ginosa. With their respective rods, equipped with artificial lures, they hoped for a fruitful day. Suddenly, the wire of the Capodiferro reed stretched beyond belief and from here an unusual adventure began. At first both thought it was a strap fish, in the following days, however, they had the confirmation that it was the oarfish. This fish usually lives in the ocean depths between 300 and 1000 meters . Not many are seen on the surface; but every time they...

Walgreens, Walmart and CVS ordered to pay $650 million over opioid sales
A federal judge in Cleveland awarded $650 million in damages Wednesday to two Ohio counties that sued CVS, Walgreens and Walmart over the way the national pharmacy chains distributed opioids to their communities. U.S. District Judge Dan Polster said in his ruling that the money will be used to the fight the opioid crisis in Lake and Trumbull counties outside Cleveland. Attorneys for the counties put the total price tag at $3.3 billion for the damage done. The judge admonished the three companies, saying they "squandered the opportunity to present a meaningful plan to abate the nuisance" after proceedings last spring to determine what the counties were owed. Lake County is to receive $306 million over 15 years. Trumbull County is to receive $344 million over the same period. Polster ordered the companies to immediately fork over nearly $87 million to cover the first two years of payments, but it was unclear whether they had to pay that money during their appeals. "Today marks the...

Brace for even higher beef prices as Texas cattle industry faces historic drought crisis
Ranchers across Texas continue to panic sell cattle herds as the worst megadrought in 1,200 years makes it too expensive to sustain operations. "We'll keep selling cows till it rains," Texas High Plains rancher Jim Ferguson told Amarillo station KAMR, which collaborated with The Hill on the expanding cattle crisis in the state. America's cattle heartland has seen pastures turn to dust, and costs for feed, fertilizer, and diesel skyrocket, threatening an entire industry that is essential to the nation's beef supply. The Hill said that the devastating drought and higher cattle operation costs would result in higher beef prices for at least the next two years. And we agree with that assessment as the latest data via USDA shows supermarket prices surged to record highs earlier this year and are quickly approaching the $5 handle.

Former Pa. judges who ran kids-for-cash jail scheme ordered to pay more than $200 million
Two former Pennsylvania judges who orchestrated a scheme to send children to for-profit jails in exchange for kickbacks were ordered to pay more than $200 million to hundreds of people they victimized in one of the worst judicial scandals in U.S. history. U.S. District Judge Christopher Conner awarded $106 million in compensatory damages and $100 million in punitive damages to nearly 300 people in a long-running civil suit against the judges, writing the plaintiffs are "the tragic human casualties of a scandal of epic proportions." In what came to be known as the kids-for-cash scandal, Mark Ciavarella and another judge, Michael Conahan, shut down a county-run juvenile detention center and accepted $2.8 million in illegal payments from the builder and co-owner of two for-profit lockups. Ciavarella, who presided over juvenile court, pushed a zero-tolerance policy that guaranteed large numbers of kids would be sent to PA Child Care and its sister facility, Western PA Child Care.

White House climate official sanctioned by key science body
The National Academy of Sciences has barred Jane Lubchenco, a key White House climate aide, from involvement in NAS publications and activities for five years for violating its code of conduct before joining the administration, the organization said. Why it matters: The move represents a significant rebuke to Lubchenco, who is deputy director for climate and environment at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. Driving the news: The NAS, the most prestigious science body in the U.S., said the decision, effective Aug. 8, stems from section 3 of its code of conduct. It states that members "shall avoid those detrimental research practices that are clear violations of the fundamental tenets of research."

US military expert backs Putin's claims
Russian President Vladimir Putin is not wrong to blame the US for working to prolong the fighting in Ukraine, a high-profile American military expert has told Newsweek. The respective goals of Washington and Kiev in the conflict contradict each other, claimed Sean Spoonts, a US Navy veteran and editor-in-chief of the Special Operations Forces Report (SOFREP) website. "It seems like while Ukraine would like to end the war quickly and decisively defeat Russian forces and drive them out of their country, US policy almost seems designed to prolong the conflict hoping to bring about the collapse of Russia itself, both militarily and economically. "That goes a lot further than [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky's goal, which is to simply get Russian armies out of his country and regain lost territories in Donbass, Lugansk and Crimea."

Germany wants to retake Polish soil — official
Berlin has plans to subjugate Eastern Europe and has designs on the lands that it lost in the past, Adam Glapinski the head of the National Bank of Poland has claimed, adding that his country stands as a bulwark against those ambitions. Glapinski offered the grim prediction about Warsaw's current diplomatic confrontation with Berlin in an interview with Gazeta Polska, which was published on Wednesday. Since the reunification of Germany in 1990, Berlin's strategic goal is to "regain in some form their former lands, which are now within Polish borders, and subordinate the entire belt of countries between Germany and Russia," the Polish official said. Germany's vision for the future of Europe is "the cooperation of two empires: Russian and German, with countries in the middle falling into the spheres of influence of both powers," Glapinski added. Brexit has opened a window of opportunity for that, he believes.

Singapore's next prime minister warns U.S. and China may 'sleepwalk into conflict'
Singapore's prime minister-in-waiting Lawrence Wong warned that the U.S. and China may "sleepwalk into conflict" if they don't engage with each other and de-escalate rising tensions over Taiwan. In an interview on Monday with Bloomberg Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait, Wong said the relationship between the world's biggest economies was on a "very worrying" trajectory in the wake of U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan and China's subsequent military drills around the island. Wong, now serving as deputy prime minister and finance minister, said at the Finance Ministry office overlooking the central business district. "We are starting to see a series of decisions being taken by both countries that will lead us into more and more dangerous territory. As they say, no one deliberately wants to go into battle, but we sleepwalk into conflict. And that's the biggest problem and danger."

1,200 scientists and professionals declare: "There is No Climate Emergency"
The political fiction that humans cause most or all climate change and the claim that the science behind this notion is 'settled', has been dealt a savage blow by the publication of a 'World Climate Declaration (WCD)' signed by over 1,100 scientists and professionals. There is no climate emergency, say the authors, who are drawn from across the world and led by the Norwegian physics Nobel Prize laureate Professor Ivar Giaever. Climate science is said to have degenerated into a discussion based on beliefs, not on sound self-critical science. The scale of the opposition to modern day 'settled' climate science is remarkable, given how difficult it is in academia to raise grants for any climate research that departs from the political orthodoxy. (A full list of the signatories is available here.) Another lead author of the declaration, Professor Richard Lindzen, has called the current climate narrative "absurd", but acknowledged that trillions of dollars and the relentless propaganda...

US supports Ukraine attacking Crimea - Politico
The US regards Ukrainian strikes on Crimea as fair game for "self-defense purposes," Politico reported on Thursday, citing an unnamed official in President Joe Biden's administration. Washington won't stand in the way of attacks on the peninsula "if Kiev deems them necessary," the outlet reported. Historically Russian, Crimea was part of independent Ukraine from 1991 to 2014 before locals voted to reunify with Moscow. "We don't select targets, of course, and everything we've provided is for self-defense purposes. Any target they choose to pursue on sovereign Ukrainian soil is by definition self defense," the anonymous official said. Asked by Politico if the Biden administration considered the peninsula sovereign Ukrainian territory, the official said: "Crimea is Ukraine."

The meaning of incredible
We're witnessing the destruction of every institution in the land and nobody knows how to stop it.... The CDC seems to think nobody will notice its crimes, and the crimes of its sister agencies, FDA, NIAID, NIH, (and the White House Task Force) if it strolls jauntily into the fall season whistling a happy a tune: Nevermind Covid anymore, la la la.... Did I say crimes? Yes, I did. As in gross violations of the law and the basic social contract. They lied about their roles in the nefarious origins of SARS CoV-2. They conjured up — already had waiting, actually — dangerous genetic treatments masquerading as "vaccines" and then they faked the safety trials to rush them into use. They denied people proper, effective treatments with inexpensive drugs and killed them with ventilators and remdesivir — solely to maintain a fraudulent emergency use authorization (EUA) that shielded "vaccine" companies from lawsuits. Once the "vaccines' were widely distributed — and forced upon many people...

Heavy snowfall in Free State, South Africa
Heavy snow has been confirmed in the Free State between Van Reenen and Harrismith on the N3 highway. This comes after the South African Weather Service (SAWS) warned of disruptive snow for the southern Drakensberg region. While many will be ecstatic with the snow, motorists have been warned to be extra cautious on the N3 highway. The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) said snowfall had blanketed the N3 route between Free State and KwaZulu-Natal.

Why is geostrategist Edward Luttwak banned in Ukraine?
Last year a "Center for Countering Disinformation," headed by former lawyer Polina Lysenko, was established within Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council under the authority of President Volodymyr Zelensky. Its stated aims were to detect and counter "propaganda" and "destructive disinformation" and prevent the "manipulation of public opinion." On July 14, 2022, it published on its website a list of politicians, academics, and activists accused of "promoting Russian propaganda," including me. Two specific reasons were given for my inclusion on this list. The first one was that I said or wrote that "Putin has been provoked to start a war against Ukraine." This is an easy one to dispense with: I never said or wrote or thought that. Either Polina Lysenko or one of her staff confused me with somebody else, or else they cut short a longer phrase of mine, such as "Putin's agents claim that he was provoked ..." The other reason given is that I've supposedly proposed holding...

1 in every 482 vaccinated people died within 1 month of Covid-19 vaccination in England according to the UK Government
For months on end, Government institutions have claimed they do not hold any data on deaths by vaccination status. But they have been lying to you. On the 6th July, a UK Government institution known as the Office for National Statistics, published a dataset on deaths by vaccination status in England between 1st January 2021 and 31st May 2022, which can be found here, and it makes for horrific reading. Table 9 of the dataset contains figures on 'Whole period counts of all registered deaths grouped by how many weeks after vaccination the deaths occurred; for deaths involving COVID-19 and deaths not involving COVID-19, deaths occurring between 1 January 2021 and 31 May 2022, England'. Here's a snapshot of how the ONS presents the data - Source As you can see, the ONS still don't make it easy for us by revealing the overall number of deaths, but with some patience and simple maths we can easily find this out ourselves.
