Icelandic Study: Less than 0.06% of children experience severe Covid symptoms
Since the early days of the pandemic, evidence has consistently shown that Covid poses almost no risk to children. A major British study from last year estimated the survival rate for under 18s as 99.995%, and found that three quarters of under 18s who died from Covid had a serious underlying health condition. Deaths are (relatively) easy to count. But what about severe symptoms that don't result in death - how many children experience those? A new Icelandic study provides the answer. The study, authored by Valtyr Thors and colleagues, has one key advantage over previous studies: thanks to Iceland's small population and comprehensive record-keeping, the authors were able to identify all children infected with Covid up to August 31st 2021 (or very nearly all).

France threatens air-conditioned shops to keep doors shut under penalty of a fine
Leaving the doors open when the air conditioning is on leads to "20 percent more consumption and... it's absurd," French Minister of Ecological Transition Agnes Pannier-Runacher told RMC radio. Comment: There will be few small and medium businesses that could afford to blithely leave their doors open when energy prices have, in some cases, tripled. The only businesses that would float this logic are the super stores, and it's unlikely the government, that is usually in bed with these businesses, is going to fine them, and, even if they did, the fine would mean little to their profits. The minister said there were also plans to restrict the use of illuminated signs. "In the coming days, I will issue two decrees: the first will widen the ban on illuminated advertising, whatever the size of the city, between 1am and 6am", with the exception of airports and stations, Pannier-Runacher told the Journal du Dimanche newspaper. Comment: The energy 'crisis' apparently doesn't extend to...

Stunning meteor fireball over Spain (July 26)
This bright bolide was spotted over Spain on July 26, at 1:04 local time (equivalent to 23:04 universal time on July 25). It was almost as bright as the full Moon. The fireball was observed by casual eyewitnesses, who reported it on social networks. The event was generated by a rock (a meteoroid) from an asteroid that hit the atmosphere at about 57,000 km/h. The fireball overflew the south of Spain. It began at an altitude of about 104 km over the province of Jaén, moved southeast, and ended at a height of around 26 km over the province of Granada. This bright meteor was recorded in the framework of the SMART project, operated by the Southwestern Europe Meteor Network (SWEMN) from the meteor-observing stations located at Huelva, La Hita, CAHA, OSN, La Sagra, and Sevilla. The event has been analyzed by the principal investigator of the SMART project: Dr. Jose M. Madiedo, from the Institute of Astrophysics of Andalusia (IAA-CSIC).

Survey: Student behavior among major reasons teachers are leaving their jobs
In a survey conducted by Chalkboard Review, it was revealed that a vast majority of midwestern teachers that are leaving their jobs are leaving because of pay, students' behavior or progressive politics in the classroom rather than reasons like Covid-19 or school shootings, amongst other reasons. The survey issued three preliminary questions and four main questions, with 615 K-12 teachers in the midwestern states of Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio responding. Of those that included salary as a main reason for leaving their position, 319 teachers listed student behavior as their biggest reason to resign from their position, followed by 138 who said progressive political activity, and 134 who said that salary is insufficient.

MI6 front Bellingcat confirms involvement in Ukrainian plot to steal Russian jets
The controversial group insists, however, that it was merely making a "documentary film" Christo Grozev, self-styled 'lead Russia investigator' with Bellingcat, confirmed on Monday his involvement in a Ukrainian intelligence plot to incite Russian military pilots to defect and hijack their planes. The senior member of the controversial Western-funded group, however, challenged the story told by the Russian side. Russia's Security Service (FSB) has presented "a traditional mix of forged 'evidence' and loosely interpreted facts" on the affair, Grozev claimed, rejecting allegations of being directly involved in the plot. According to a middleman detained by Russian intelligence, he had been receiving orders directly from Grozev on how to deliver cash to the pilots in exchange for videos proving they actually have access to warplanes.

Erdogan says West gets what it gives regarding its relationship with Putin
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday criticized his Western colleagues for having the wrong attitude towards Russian President Vladimir Putin, contrasting it with his own ability to work with Moscow on issues ranging from the Syrian peace process to last week's deal to export Ukrainian grain via the Black Sea ports. "You know the attitude of Western politicians towards Putin," he told state broadcaster TRT during a lengthy interview on Monday evening, calling it "unbecoming of politics."

Unsocial media monitor: Twitter censors James Lindsay's use of 'groomer' just days after Media Matters demands it do so
Dr. James Lindsay was temporarily locked out of his Twitter account this week for calling a Media Matters journalist "groomer," just two days after the outlet published a hit piece calling on Twitter to ban the use of the phrase entirely — specifically citing Lindsay as a "far-right" author who supposedly uses the term to "smear" the LGBTQ community. The piece also singled out Chaya Raichik, who runs the popular Libs of TikTok twitter account, as well as a similar account called "Gays Against Groomers." Indeed, Lindsay and the other accounts in question have popularized the use of the phrase "groomer" to refer to those who seek to condition children into certain sexualities, and indoctrinate them into radical gender ideology.

Top-ranking Biden administration officials — including Dr. Anthony Fauci — and five social media giants have 30 days to respond to subpoenas and discovery requests in a lawsuit alleging the government colluded with social media companies to suppress freedom of speech "under the guise of combatting misinformation." Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt and Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry on Wednesday served third-party subpoenas on Twitter, Meta (Facebook's parent company), Youtube, Instagram and LinkedIn. Schmitt and Landry on Tuesday filed discovery requests seeking documents and information from the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and Fauci, its director; White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre; Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy; and former Disinformation Governance Board executive director Nina Jankowicz.

Recent heatwave shows real science is being ignored - normal weather is treated as a catastrophic event
The recent brief heatwave in the U.K. and parts of Europe provides a textbook case of how the weather is being catastrophised to serve the interests of the command-and-control Net Zero agenda. The U.K. heatwave was exceptionally hot, but according to Professor Cliff Mass, this "extraordinary extreme event" is a sign that "global warming played a very small role in this event". According to Mass, the golden rule of climate extremes is: "The more extreme a climate or weather record is, the greater the contribution of natural variability and the smaller the contribution of human-caused global warming." Mass is Professor of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Washington. He does not rule out the involvement of human-caused global warming, but is dismissive of much of the ludicrous scaremongering that dominates the media. "The truth and overwhelming evidence provide a different story: the recent European heatwave is mainly the result of natural processes, but was enhanced modestly...

Fauci's fascist fantasy: If we could do it again, COVID-19 restrictions would be 'much, much more stringent'
The White House's coronavirus adviser answered questions about mask mandates, gain of function research, and more. When asked what he would do differently if he could go back in time to the beginning of the pandemic, White House coronavirus advisor Anthony Fauci said that he would recommend "much, much more stringent restrictions" from the get-go. "If I knew in 2020 what I know now, we would do a lot differently," said Fauci in an interview on Monday. "The insidious nature of spread in the community would have been much more of an alarm, and there would have been much, much more stringent restrictions in the sense of very, very heavy encouragement of people to wear masks, physical distancing, what have you."

Class Formation
National Globalism and Global Nationalism. Can you taste it? The blood in the water. All over the world, Behemoth is bleeding from a thousand tiny cuts. In Sri Lanka, in the Netherlands, in Ecuador, in Panama, and in a dozen other countries, the populace is in revolt. The tree planted by decades of mismanagement is bearing its poisonous fruit, and people are gagging as they sample it. The WHO announces the simian PridePox as a new global health emergency, and globalpop rolls its eyes. Trust in the regime institutions used to massage public opinion has plummeted, and with it the regime's ability to massage. The talking heads and credentialed experts scream with increasing hysteria about climate emergencies, domestic Not Who We Are assaults to Our Values Democracy, or the threat posed to the Liberal World Order by the Hitler du Jour, but they scream impotently into a hurricane that is far louder, faster, vaster, and more powerful than they could ever hope to be. NY Times admits Ukraine's military morale is declining
Those willing to fight are left behind while the unwilling are drafted, according to the US newspaper Kiev's "secretive and arbitrary" military recruitment, which leads to the drafting of soldiers who are unwilling to serve, is affecting the morale of the Ukrainian troops fighting against Russia, the New York Times has reported. There are "signs, five grueling months into the war, that the sense of unity is fraying at the edges" within the Ukrainian military, the paper pointed out in a report on Monday. Some soldiers are unhappy that they have done "long, hard service," while many others managed to stay away from service, it said.

Pfizer mRNA vaccine goes into liver and changes into DNA, Swedish study finds
The research was conducted at Lund University. A new Swedish study published in MDPI found that the Pfizer vaccine goes into liver cells and converts to DNA, challenging claims so far that the mRNA COVID-19 vaccines do not change or interact with your DNA in any way. It's the first time that researchers have shown in vitro - or inside a petri dish - how an mRNA vaccine is converted into DNA on a human liver cell line, the Epoch Times reported. It's precisely what health experts and fact-checkers said for more than a year could not occur. Dr. Peter McCullough, an internist, cardiologist and epidemiologist who is one of the leading critics of the COVID vaccines, said the findings have "enormous implications of permanent chromosomal change" that could drive a "whole new genre of chronic disease."

London Power prices spike 5,000%, relies on Belgium to thwart rolling blackout
London's power grid was pushed to the brink of failure following last week's record-breaking heatwave. Javier Blas, a Bloomberg Opinion columnist covering energy and commodities, said power grid disruption hit the eastern part of the British capital for a brief period on July 20 as air conditioners were turned down and spiked power demand, resulting in a bottleneck on the grid. British utilities had trouble pulling from other power-generating sources on the grid. They relied on Belgium via undersea water cables across the English Channel to increase power supply -- boosting power prices to a record high of £9,724.54 (about $11,685) per megawatt hour. This is more than 5,000% versus average power prices of £178 (about $215) per megawatt hour.
