US congressman reveals seats on committees are 'literally' bought
Seats on Congress' most powerful committees are literally offered for sale to special interest groups, said Representative Mo Brooks. In a video that circulated online on Friday, Alabama Representative Mo Brooks told supporters that an entrenched system of corruption prevents Congress from passing legislation that would benefit the average American. Brooks said that both parties charge their members $1 million and beyond for chairmanships of committees, and that only those taking donations from lobbyists can afford these seats. "Special interest groups run Washington, and I don't mean that metaphorically. I mean literally," Brooks told supporters at an event in March, video footage of which was shared on Friday by conservative pundit Lauren Windsor.

New texts show two GOP lawmakers offered advice to Trump's team on challenging election
Newly revealed text messages from two Republicans who voted to certify President Biden's election victory show they privately offered advice to Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows in navigating a challenge to the 2020 presidential election. Texts from Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) obtained by CNN show the two men sought to aid Meadows on how former President Trump should proceed, including in his legal strategy. The texts show in the early days following the election, both men lended their support to Trump.

Judge rejects Stacey Abrams' bid for unlimited campaign contributions
Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams cannot immediately begin raising and spending unlimited campaign contributions under a state law passed last year because she is not yet her party's nominee, a federal judge ruled Thursday. Abrams and her One Georgia committee filed a lawsuit last month challenging the constitutionality of the new law, which allows certain top elected officials and party nominees to create "leadership committees" that can raise campaign funds without limits. But they also asked the judge to order the state ethics commission not to take any action against them if they continue to raise money before the primary next month. "This Court will not rewrite Georgia law to enable One Georgia to stand in the same shoes as a leadership committee that, in Plaintiffs' view, is operating in violation of the First Amendment," U.S. District Judge Mark Cohen wrote in his order.

Musk responds to reports of Twitter's 'poison pill' tactic to foil his takeover bid
Twitter is reportedly considering a so-called "poison pill" tactic to thwart Elon Musk's effort to buy out the social media platform, prompting a critical response from the Tesla chief. Cameron Winklevoss, founder of the Gemini cryptocurrency exchange, said in a tweet that "Twitter is considering a poison pill to thwart @elonmusk's offer," while two anonymous sources told The New York Times that Twitter's board is mulling the tactic, which is used to block hostile takeovers. The poison pill method gives existing shareholders the right to buy additional shares at a discount, diluting outstanding stock and making a hostile takeover more financially challenging for the acquirer. Responding to Winklevoss' tweet, Musk said a "poison pill" move could expose Twitter's board to "titanic" legal liability. The Epoch Times has reached out to Twitter for comment but no response was received by the company.

NASA discovers 'rapidly growing black hole' linking to younger galaxies
Astronomers have found evidence of a "rapidly growing black hole" in the early universe, according to NASA. This discovery has been labeled a "crucial missing link" as it could help us to understand the connection between the first supermassive black holes and young galaxies. NASA explained: "Astronomers have identified a rapidly growing black hole in the early universe that is considered a crucial "missing link" between young star-forming galaxies and the first supermassive black holes, using data from the Hubble Space Telescope to make this discovery." The US space agency also released an artistic impression of a supermassive black hole as well as an image taken by the Hubble Space Telescope.

Institutionalizing military mediocrity: Pentagon rolls out its 'equity' plan
The Department of Defense issued an equity report, aiming to equalize outcomes for employees and partners across racial, sexual and gender lines. The DOD released its equity report alongside all other departments of President Biden's administration this week. In the text, the DOD explained a series of procedural changes to better align with the White House's demands for "equity." "While the Department has historically focused on increasing equity within the DOD community, the collective actions described in this plan represent a shift in the Department's approach and focus to better ensure that we leverage our capabilities to create opportunities for all Americans," the Department of Defense wrote in its report.

Racist Twitter board declares they would rather go bankrupt rhan be owned by an African American
Twitter's board of directors has elected to block an attempt from an African American immigrant to purchase the company. According to sources, they decided they would rather destroy their own company than see it in the hands of an African American. "Over my dead body!" said angry board member Foghorn Callaway, twirling his mustache and shaking his cane in the air. "I'll be hornswoggled if I ever allow an uppity foreigner own this glooooorious company!" The other board members hooted and hollered and banged their hands on the elegant mahogany board room table in agreement. According to sources, the young African businessman who offered to buy the company has ambitions to ensure Twitter is prioritizing free speech and "maximally trusted." French presidential candidate Le Pen says US should compensate France for loss of Russian gas
The US should compensate France for losses if the EU bans Russian energy carriers, French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen said in an interview with BFM TV. "The Americans, who will sell us liquefied gas and get a solid profit from it, could transfer money to France as compensation for anti-Russia sanctions," Le Pen said, noting that Washington is pressuring the EU to sanction Russian energy carriers. The bloc placed multiple sanctions on Russia after Moscow launched a military operation in neighboring Ukraine. The operation has been widely criticized by many Western nations, but perhaps none have been more outspoken than the US.

Operation Gladio: How NATO conducted a secret war against European citizens and their democratically elected governments
"You had to attack civilians, the people, women, children, unknown people far from any political game. The reason was quite simple - to force the people to turn to the state to ask for greater security." - Vincenzo Vinciguerra, convicted Italian terrorist, former member of the Avanguardia Nazionale ("National Vanguard") and Ordine Nuovo ("New Order") This is part 3 to a five-part series. The Master Betrayed #1
In the conclusion of Iain McGilchrist's book The Master and His Emissary, the question is asked: "What would the left hemisphere's world look like if the left hemisphere of the brain became so far dominant that, at the phenomenological level, it managed more or less to suppress the right hemisphere's world altogether?" In this series of posts I'd like to break down his conclusion and discuss just how closely our world is conforming to the left hemisphere's perspective. We could expect, for a start, that there would be a loss of the broader picture, and a substitution of a more narrowly focussed, restricted, but detailed, view of the world, making it perhaps difficult to maintain a coherent overview. The broader picture would in any case be disregarded, because it would lack the appearance of clarity and certainty which the left hemisphere craves. In general, the 'bits' of anything, the parts into which it could be disassembled, would come to seem more important, more likely to lead...

Eye in the sky: Satellite imagery proves vital to understanding Ukraine war
Without personnel in Ukraine, the United States has been forced to rely on alternative intelligence streams to understand what's happening there, including commercial satellite companies that have come into play. The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency partners with more than 100 companies and is using imagery from at least 200 commercial satellites, David Gauthier, director of commercial and business operations at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, said during the 37th Space Symposium, according to Space News. One of the companies that has become pivotal is Maxar Technology, which has four satellites in orbit that can provide "sub-meter and, in this case, sub-50 centimeter imagery," Stephen Wood, senior director of the Maxar News Bureau, told the Washington Examiner in an interview on Wednesday. Their satellites are able to capture images above Ukraine, which are then transmitted to a platform the U.S. government can access within 30 to 45 minutes, he explained,...

Never Forget: For 2 years, tyrants locked us down, forcibly medicated us and destroyed our livelihoods
On March 16, 2020, the Trump administration released a 15-day plan to slow the spread of the coronavirus in the US. We are now 2 years, 2 presidents, 8 trillion dollars, countless stolen rights, and a decimated economy past that day and we have absolutely nothing to show for it but a laundry list of corruption and deadly mistakes. Now, they are trying to do it again. After Biden extended the mask mandate and other municipalities are taking five steps back, Anthony Fauci appeared on MSNBC this week and let the truth about lockdowns slip. After he praised the horrifying measures taken by China this month, Fauci implied that lockdowns are theater designed to scare people into getting vaccinated. "China has a number of problems, two of which are that the complete lockdown, which was their approach, a strictest lockdown you'd never be able to implement in the United States. Although that prevents the spread of infection, I remember early on they were saying, and I think accurately, they...

Serbs protest Belgrade's move against Russia
Several thousand Serbs gathered on Friday evening in downtown Belgrade, carrying Russian flags and declaring the countries' "brothers forever." The rally, dubbed 'Not in My Name', protested last week's vote of the Serbian envoy to the UN to suspend Russia from the Human Rights Council, which President Aleksandar Vucic said came only after immense pressure from the West. Protesters gathered around 7pm local time at the monument to Nicholas II, the last Russian emperor, and marched through downtown Belgrade to the Russian embassy chanting, "Serbs and Russians - brothers forever!" and "Kosovo is Serbia, Crimea is Russia!" Officially, the rally was in protest of last week's vote at the UN General Assembly, when Serbia joined a total of 93 countries favoring Moscow's suspension from the UN Human Rights Council. Russia subsequently left the panel. Vucic appeared on national television after the vote and said his government originally intended to abstain, but was then subjected to...

California's vanished dream, by the numbers
Even today amid a mounting exodus among those who can afford it, and with its appeal diminished to businesses and newcomers, California, legendary state of American dreams, continues to inspire optimism among progressive boosters. Laura Tyson, the longtime Democratic economist now at the University of California at Berkeley, praises the state for creating "the way forward" to a more enlightened "market capitalism." Like-minded analysts tout Silicon Valley's massive wealth generation as evidence of progressivism's promise. The Los Angeles Times suggested approvingly that the Biden administration's goal is to "make America California again." And, despite dark prospects in November's midterm elections, the President and his party still seem intent on proving it. But most Californians, according to recent surveys, see things differently. They point to rising poverty and inequality, believe the state is in recession and that it is headed in the wrong direction. Parting with the state's...

Twitter's chickens come home to roost
The Great Elon Musk panic of 2022 is revealing a big fat boatload of blue-check hypocrites! Elon Musk has reportedly attempted to purchase Twitter, and I have no idea whether his influence on the company would be positive or not. I do know, however, what other media figures think Musk's influence on Twitter will be. They think it will be bad — very bad, bad! How none of them see what a self-own this is is beyond me. After spending the last six years practically turgid with joy as other unaccountable billionaires tweaked the speech landscape in their favor, they're suddenly howling over the mere rumor that a less censorious fat cat might get to sit in one of the big chairs. O the inhumanity! A few of the more prominent Musk critics are claiming merely to be upset at the prospect of wealthy individuals controlling speech. As more than one person has pointed out, this is a bizarre thing to be worrying about all of the sudden, since it's been the absolute reality in America for a...

Macron explains refusal to speak of Ukraine 'genocide'
The country's president has called for semantic caution in describing purported atrocities. French President Emmanuel Macron has doubled down on his refusal to characterize Russia's conduct in Ukraine as "genocide." He articulated his unwillingness to invoke the fraught term during a Thursday interview on the France Bleu radio network. "Words have a meaning and we must be very careful. The word 'genocide' must be qualified by jurists, not by politicians." His reasoning echoed remarks by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres the day before, when he was asked about US President Joe Biden's use of the term: "Genocide is strictly defined in international law. And for the UN, we rely on the final legal determination by the appropriate judicial bodies." He also noted that the International Criminal Court (ICC) was already investigating the matter. Earlier on Wednesday, Macron already said he "would be careful with such terms." During an interview with France 2, he also demanded...

Kvartal 22: Zelenskiy's Simulacra
Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelenskiy is an entertainer turned politician famous for television productions such as Kvartal 95 and Servant of the People, which also became the name of is real world political party. The problem in making such a transition is that the spheres of entertainment and politics both rely on virtuality. Entertainment offers fiction on a permanent basis. Politics has long ago been a sphere of surgical use of lies and myths. Max Weber and John Mearsheimer have elaborated on this aspect of politics. In another era Zelenskiy might have developed into an effective politician who used lies only when absolutely necessary. Since the Obama administration the US government has been gradually been taken over in a revolution from above, leading to the country's being on the verge of becoming a single-party dominant authoritarian regime that we might call the Democratic Party-state or DemParty-state. Authoritarian and especially totalitarian regimes go hand in hand...

Despite U.S. bluff and bluster, Pentagon's bioweapon threat to Russia and China is serious
Russian President Vladimir Putin said this week that his country had "no choice" but to intervene militarily in Ukraine to halt a genocide against the Russian-speaking people of the Donbass and neutralize the growing national security threat to Russia stemming from Ukrainian territory. Eight years of military assaults on the breakaway Donbass region by the NATO-backed Kiev regime - causing 14,000 deaths - are exhibit A. The documented Nazi ideology of the Kiev military regiments and their explicit aspiration to kill Russian people is exhibit B. The NATO training and weaponizing of the regime despite its Nazi affiliation is exhibit C. And fourthly, exhibit D, we must take into account the Pentagon's threat to Russia from its undeniable bioweapons program in Ukraine. That threat also extends to China which is faced with expanding Pentagon laboratories near its borders. When Russia launched its intervention in Ukraine on February 24, the Kiev regime promptly ordered a network of 30...

Russia destroys tank factory & 16 military other targets in Kiev, claims loss of Moskva ship was due to 'detonation of onboard ammunition'
Russia used high-precision strikes to destroy an armored-vehicle manufacturing plant in Kiev and a military repair depot in the city of Nikolaev in southern Ukraine, Defense Ministry spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov said on Saturday. He added that 16 targets were hit overnight, including Ukrainian military units, weapons and ammunition depots, and radar facilities. Moscow warned that it would step up strikes on Kiev after accusing Ukraine of shelling Russian territory on Thursday. Kiev has denied launching attacks on Russian soil.

Germans urged to limit showers as gas storage facilities could be empty come autumn if they ban Russian energy supplies
Germans have been advised to think twice about having a hot shower if the authorities decide to place an embargo on Russian natural gas amid Moscow's military operation in Ukraine. "You will have to ask yourselves a question, whether you really need to take a hot shower seven days a week - with gas heating," the head of the Federal Network Agency of Germany, Klaus Mueller, said in an interview with n-tv. His words echoed a similar statement earlier by European Commissioner for Competition Margrethe Vestager, who advised EU residents to "control your own and your teenager's showers, and when you turn off that water, say, 'take that, Putin.'"
