'Something is up': Rep. Jim Jordan suggests Hunter Biden indictment could be coming
Top House Republican Jim Jordan said on Sunday he thinks "something is up" with the MSM's recent flip-flop on the Hunter Biden laptop story - which was originally branded as Russian disinformation right before the 2020 US election, only to be validated as authentic in recent weeks amid a grand jury investigation into the First Son. According to Jordan, it "sure seems" that Hunter is on his way to being indicted - though he couldn't say for sure, according to the Washington Examiner. Jordan pointed to the remarkable timing of MSM outlets reporting on Hunter's laptop in seeming lockstep, which coincides with a flurry of grand jury activity.

Downtown Portland sees mid-April snow stick to the ground for the first time in nearly 120 years
The Portland airport also has the most measurable snow in April in recorded history For the first time in almost 120 years, downtown Portland saw a measurable amount of snow in mid-April. The last time snow stuck to the ground in the downtown area this late in the year was in 1903, when snow was recorded on April 10, according to the National Weather Service. "It's not normal," said meteorologist Colby Neuman. "We have seen snow in April in downtown Portland, but never this much this late in April." Approximately 1.6 inches, more in some areas, was recorded around Portland. The snow melted in the afternoon Monday, as temperatures rose.

US aircraft carrier & strike group to enter East Sea as 'show of force'
North Korean news agency Yonhap quoted on Monday sources as saying that US nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln will access the international waters of the East Sea this week as a "show of force" movement to fend off any possible North Korean provocations. The aircraft carrier along with a strike group will stay in the sea for about 5 days, Yonhap reported, adding that it will be the first incident of its kind since November 2017. The news agency quoted the spokesman for US Forces Korea, Lee Peters, as saying that "as a matter of operational security," he refuses to comment on the matter.

NASA measures record breaking, huge comet headed towards Earth
Nasa has spotted a record-breakingly large comet headed nearer to Earth. Its icy nucleus is bigger than any ever seen - measuring around 80 miles across, and 50 times bigger than the heart of most known comets. It is also thought to have a mass of about 500 trillion tons - a hundred thousand times more massive than the typical comet found closer to the Sun. And the object, known as C/2014 UN271 (Bernardinelli-Bernstein), is headed in this direction, quickly. Travelling at 22,000 miles per hour, it is moving from the edge of the solar system towards its the centre. However, we should be entirely safe. The comet will not get closer than a billion miles from the Sun - further away even than the planet Saturn - and that will not happen until 2031.

Kremlin responds to Clinton's weasley NATO statement
Washington repeatedly declined Russian offers to join the bloc, according to Putin's spokesman Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has refuted former US President Bill Clinton's position on NATO's supposed open-door policy towards Russia, insisting that Washington made it impossible for Moscow to join the military bloc. "I know for sure that the American side has repeatedly spoken about the impossibility of such membership. De facto, it was said that the doors, on the contrary, are closed, because it is fundamentally impossible," Peskov told reporters on Monday. Earlier last week, Bill Clinton published an article in The Atlantic attempting to justify his administration's policy on the expansion of NATO.

Climate laws threaten UK family farms as land is bought for carbon credits
Climate laws are having a negative knock-on effect on farming as businesses outbid locals for land in hopes of generating carbon credits. The future existence of family farms in Wales is under threat as a result of Britain's climate laws, which are seeing big businesses outbid locals for land. Companies have bought up more and more land in the British Home Nation in hopes of obtaining so-called carbon credits, which can be used to offset company emissions elsewhere.

Stephen Meyer on totalitarian dystopias and the God Hypothesis
Stephen Meyer, writing at The American Mind, highlights an important lesson about the consequences of dismissing what he calls, in the title of his recent book, The God Hypothesis. He's responding to an essay by Andrew Klavan that notes the connection between tyranny and atheism. The most tyrannical societies have also been the most atheistic, and the most likely to point to "science" as a justification on both counts. Humans as "Purely Material Entities" From, "God's Footprints": Klavan's insight about the relationship between dystopias and atheism (or scientific materialism) is also perceptive. The fictional dystopias of Brave New World, The Giver, The Matrix — and I would add, C. S. Lewis's That Hideous Strength — invariably depict future states where men and women are treated as purely material entities devoid of moral impulse and spiritual longing. In such dystopian societies, a reductionist and materialistic concept of human beings ensures that something important — love,...

Buffoon Boris gets away with Partygate, even while being fined
But Tories so far REFUSE to pull the trigger and force Johnson out because of the war in Ukraine Boris Johnson is tonight clinging to power after police fined him for attending an illegal Partygate event - because Tory MPs refuse to boot him out of No10 while there is a war in Ukraine. He today became the first serving Prime Minister in history to be penalised for law-breaking as No10 confirmed he will receive a fixed-penalty notice (FPN) for attending a Cabinet room birthday party arranged by his wife. Mr Johnson, Carrie and Chancellor Rishi Sunak - who all attended the event - are among a tranche of 30 more FPNs notices dished out by Scotland Yard this afternoon to people who broke lockdown rules.

The end for electric cars? VW develops new hydrogen technology: '2,000 Km on a single tank of fuel'!
VW may have developed a major hydrogen breakthrough...cars could travel 2000 km on a single tank of fuel. VW often rails against hydrogen cars, but the German automaker is reported to have filed a patent that could mean a major breakthrough for hydrogen powered vehicles, reports Patrick Freiwa of the German Kreiszeitung here. Though the latest trend has been electric cars, these have also a number of technical drawbacks like range, cost, mining and weight. Moreover there is also the problem of how to dispose of millions of tons of batteries at the end of their lives.

Rallying round the false flags
Another day, another provocation, and Western leaders are frothing at the mouth with denunciations of Russian "barbarity". U.S. President Joe Biden signs off on more weapons to Ukraine while European counterparts slap more economic warfare sanctions on Russia. Just when the Western media had saturated "reports" of Russian troops executing civilians and leaving their bodies to rot on the streets of Bucha, then we read of more horror from accusations that Russian forces fired a missile at a train station in Kramatorsk killing over 50 people, including women and children. Last week the Western media were telling us about Russian forces bombing a theatre in Mariupol and killing people sheltering in the basement. The week before it was an alleged Russian airstrike on a maternity hospital in the same city. The onslaught of the reports of these alleged atrocities is itself telling. There is hardly any time for the Western public to think critically about the reports and whether they are...

Anti-Russian sanctions compromise ammonia storage Latvia
The Latvian port city of Ventspils may soon encounter difficulty safely storing some 40,000 tons of liquid ammonia, city council chairman Janis Vitolins told LETA news agency on Sunday. The hazardous material is owned by Ventamonjak, the company that runs the liquid ammonia terminal located at the local port. The terminal, which has multiple holding tanks to store ammonia, is the largest facility of its kind in the Baltic Sea region. Ventamonjak is controlled by Uralchem Freight Limited Cyprus, which is owned by Russian billionaire Dmitry Mazepin. The ownership structure makes the terminal subject to the sanctions affecting Mazepin, the official explained. As a result, Ventamonjak's ability to perform financial transactions is currently restricted.
