Biden's DOJ going after states that protect minors from genital mutilation
Following the passage of laws banning genital mutilation surgeries and the prescribing of cross-sex hormones for minors seeking to transform into the opposite sex, the Department of Justice has announced that it has sent letters to state attorneys "reminding them of federal constitutional and statutory provisions that protect transgender youth against discrimination." "The Department of Justice is committed to ensuring that all children are able to live free from discrimination, abuse and harassment," said Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke for the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division in a press release. "Today's letter reaffirms state and local officials' obligation to ensure that their laws and policies do not undermine or harm the health and safety of children, regardless of a child's gender identity," she added.

Hunter laptop story confirms: Rein in Big Tech or cease to be a free people
On the precipice of the regime-defining 2020 presidential election, Facebook and Twitter committed their "Pearl Harbor attack" against the incumbent president, Donald Trump, and in dutiful favor of the regnant regime's favored candidate, Joe Biden. In an October move that would presage the collapse of the "public"-"private" distinction during the Biden presidency — as seen in press secretary Jen Psaki's open bragging last summer of collusion with Mark Zuckerberg to censor COVID "misinformation," and Eric Schmidt's recently revealed role helping shape administration science policy — Big Tech oligarchs dropped the hammer on the New York Post, a high-circulation newspaper, for its reporting on Hunter Biden's now-infamous "laptop from hell." The laptop's files demonstrated the notoriously troubled Hunter's venality, abuses of power and general sketchiness of his foreign dealings. He and some of his cronies remain under federal investigation for possible tax and money laundering...

Another hoax debunked: Official review of Trump phone logs from January 6 finds record is complete
In the seven hours during which White House records show no phone calls to or from then-President Donald Trump on January 6, 2021, among the calls that are conspicuously absent is one Trump made to then-Vice President Mike Pence that morning from the Oval Office. While the call is not specifically noted in the presidential diary or the presidential call log, its existence has been corroborated by multiple sources who were with Trump and Pence that day, including former aides who testified before the House select committee investigating the US Capitol attack. And it's not the only call Trump is known to have made in that timeframe that is not reflected in the records. The mystery of the seven-hour gap has fueled furious speculation as to why calls are missing. That includes allegations that Trump was using "burner phones" (which he has denied) or that the logs were purposely suppressed. But the gap might have a less mysterious explanation. According to multiple sources familiar with...

WaPo admits Kiev's 'defense tactics' put civilians in danger - could be war crimes
The suspected Russian missile hit the tall apartment building, engulfing it in flames and smoke. It killed at least four people, including elderly residents, and shattered the lives of a close-knit community. For lawmaker Oleksii Goncharenko, the tragedy was yet another example of potential Russian war crimes. "They are just hitting residential buildings in these areas," said the Ukrainian parliament member, who arrived at the scene shortly after the explosion two weeks ago. "You can walk around, you will not find any military targets, or any military people. This is just terror." Yet a few minutes later, the whooshing sound of Ukrainian rockets fired from a multiple rocket launcher startled residents staring blankly at their destroyed homes. Then, another outgoing barrage. The weapons seemed to be nearby, perhaps a few streets away, certainly well inside the capital. Comment: That is, Goncharenko, like the entire Ukrainian leadership, is lying, repeatedly and shamelessly....

China calls for 'objective' analysis of Russia's claims about US biolabs in Ukraine
The international community should provide a "fair, objective and professional" assessment of Russia's allegations regarding alleged US military laboratories in Ukraine, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said. In March, Russia shared evidence obtained from laboratories across Ukraine that apparently confirms that Pentagon-funded labs were working on "biological weapons components," and may have been connected to suspicious outbreaks of dirofilariasis, tuberculosis, and avian flu over the past several years. According to the latest data revealed by military spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov on March 30, Kiev was planning to use drones to deploy pathogens against the Donbass republics, as well as Russia itself. Speaking at a regular press briefing on Friday, Zhao said the US has still not come up with a "constructive response" to Russia's statements, and called on the international community to give serious consideration to Moscow's claims. Russia will see record gas earnings this year
Russia will have record revenues from natural gas sales this year due to high prices in the spot markets, Janis Kluge, a Eurasia-focused researcher at the German Science and Politics Foundation, told ntv.de news outlet: "Almost half of the Russian budget is based on transactions with oil and gas. The state earns enormously from production taxes and export duties. It receives the income in rubles, and the amount is determined by two factors: firstly, by energy prices on the world market and, secondly, by the exchange rate of the ruble." According to him, revenue from gas will soar this year, as many of Russia's gas contracts are adjusting to the rising spot prices. Kluge predicted the cost will increase significantly within the next several months: "The gas price on the spot markets has quintupled within the past year. That means Gazprom will have record revenues." The situation is similar with oil, Kluge says, which profits from the ruble's sanctions-induced drop.

West's sadomasochism? Why anti-Russia sanctions have no effect but to inflict pain on everyone
The cost of bread, cereal, pizza, pasta and other foods in the US could spike, the Hill warned, five days after Joe Biden admitted, while predicting food shortages, that the price of sanctions imposed by the West upon Russia will inevitably backfire on "an awful lot of countries" including the US. According to CNBC, the US and its allies are planning new sanctions on more sectors of Russia's economy because of Moscow's special operation to demilitarise and de-Nazify Ukraine even though the restrictions already imposed have hit supply chains, disrupted deliveries of raw materials, sent energy prices higher and dealt a blow to agriculture. Since 28 February, the West has doubled down on isolating commodity-rich Russia from global finance. By 4 March, major international shipping groups - including container lines - "suspended almost all cargo shipments to and from Russia to comply with western sanctions," according to Reuters, thus bringing a halt to Russia's deliveries to the global...

Trump's GOP stranglehold faces major test in four primary battles
Former President Donald Trump is entering a crucial phase of his lordship over the Republican Party, with four primaries in four states poised to decide his fate as a feared power broker. Candidates Trump has endorsed for governor in Georgia, for the Senate in North Carolina, and for the House in Wyoming, plus his planned endorsement for the Senate in Ohio, hold the keys to the former president's standing as the undisputed leader of the Republican Party. Losses in any of these key nominating contests would embolden Republican politicians to buck his directives and challenge him for the 2024 presidential nomination should he run. Losses in all four would be an unmitigated disaster for Trump. John Couvillon, a GOP pollster in Louisiana, said Tuesday: "He has to notch some electoral wins for him to continue to have Republicans scared to cross him."

They can't allow the public to acknowledge the fact that the same special operation that they provoked Russia into initiating unleashed multiple unintended consequences that have accelerated the decline of the US' unipolar hegemony. The alternative reality that these false information warfare narratives create is essentially a coping mechanism for their targeted Western audience as well as a desperate last-ditch attempt to advance the US' doomed-to-fail regime change plans for Russia. The ruble, the dollar and the price of gold - who is really winning the economic chess game?
Russia has just made some moves that are going to change the global financial system forever. When the conflict in Ukraine originally erupted, the U.S. immediately attempted to crash the value of Russia's currency. Those attempts were successful for a few days, but now the value of the ruble relative to the U.S. dollar is almost all the way back to where it was before the start of the war. This has absolutely stunned many of the experts, because they thought that U.S. sanctions would absolutely cripple Russia. So what happened? Well, it turns out that the Russians have made some very savvy moves that have turned the tables on the Biden administration. For one thing, Russia has started to demand payment in rubles when it sells natural gas to non-friendly nations. A lot of countries in western Europe are quite upset about this, but they really have no choice, because they are exceedingly dependent on Russian gas. So from this point forward, Western powers are actually going to be...

The day Dostoyevsky discovered the meaning of life in a dream
"And it is so simple... You will instantly find how to live." One November night in the 1870s, legendary Russian writer Fyodor Dostoyevsky (November 11, 1821-February 9, 1881) discovered the meaning of life in a dream — or, at least, the protagonist in his final short story did. The piece, which first appeared in the altogether revelatory A Writer's Diary (public library) under the title "The Dream of a Queer Fellow" and was later published separately as The Dream of a Ridiculous Man, explores themes similar to those in Dostoyevsky's 1864 novel Notes from the Underground, considered the first true existential novel. True to Stephen King's assertion that "good fiction is the truth inside the lie," the story sheds light on Dostoyevsky's personal spiritual and philosophical bents with extraordinary clarity — perhaps more so than any of his other published works. The contemplation at its heart falls somewhere between Tolstoy's tussle with the meaning of life and Philip K. Dick's...

One November night in the 1870s, legendary Russian writer Fyodor Dostoyevsky (November 11, 1821-February 9, 1881) discovered the meaning of life in a dream — or, at least, the protagonist in his final short story did. Dick's...

Russian Ruble relaunched linked to gold and commodities and what it means
With Russia's central bank having just profoundly altered the international trade and monetary system by linking the Russian ruble to both gold and commodities, the journalists at RT.com in Moscow asked me to write a Q and A article on what these developments mean, and the ramifications of these changes on the Russian ruble, the US dollar, the gold price and the global system of currencies. This article is being published on the RT.com website. Regular readers will recall that I have contributed to quite a few RT.com articles before, such as about Australian gold (see BullionStar here), US Treasury gold (see BullionStar here), Poland's gold (see RT site here), China's gold (see RT's Spanish site here), why buy physical gold (see RT site here), and gold price manipulation (see RT site here). However, since RT.com is now blocked and censored in many Western locations such as the EU, UK, US and Canada, and since many readers may not be able to access the RT.com website (unless using a...

'Assault on women's sports': Joe Rogan says Lia Thomas might be 'woke straw' that 'breaks' society's back
Podcaster Joe Rogan didn't beat around the bush when he said Penn swimmer Lia Thomas, a biological male who identifies as a female, is an "assault on women's sports." During The Joe Rogan Experience podcast Thursday, Rogan and his guest comedian Yannis Pappas talked about how things are kind of backward these days and how a person can't say something that's not popularly accepted without hiding behind some "kind of anonymity." The host agreed, but noted how he's starting to see a "pushback," and that Thomas is an example of people having reached a breaking point when it comes to transgender individuals competing in sports. The exchange begins at the 1:25:31 minute mark in the show.

Russian forces hand back Chernobyl to Ukraine - IAEA
Russian forces have begun leaving the defunct Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, the site of the major 1986 disaster, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said. Russia seized the facilities, in February, at the start of its military campaign in Ukraine. The IAEA added that Russian forces also left the nearby city of Slavutych, where many of the plant's staff live. The agency cited Ukraine as saying that some Russian troops were still present on site, but it was "presumed" that they were preparing to exit as well. "Ukraine today informed the IAEA that the Russian forces that have been in control of Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) since 24 February had, in writing, transferred control of the NPP to Ukrainian personnel and moved two convoys of troops towards Belarus," the Vienna-based agency reported on Thursday, using the Ukrainian name of the plant.
