Maxine Waters tells homeless people to 'go home,' tries to intimidate reporter covering the story
Rep. Maxine Waters told a group of homeless people to "go home," dropped an f-bomb, and then tried to intimidate a reporter out of writing a story about it. Last week, a group of homeless people were misled by social media rumors and showed up at an event by the organization Fathers and Mothers Who Care. Hundreds of people arrived believing that the organization was handing out Section 8 housing vouchers.

BEST OF THE WEB: White House: 'Early' trans surgeries, hormones are 'crucial' for kids, teens who identify as trans
"Early" transgender surgeries, hormone treatment, and affirmations are "crucial" for the health of kids and teens who identify as transgender and nonbinary, President Joe Biden's administration said in messaging released Thursday. The White House flagged a resource from the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health on "Transgender Day of Visibility" intended to "inform parents and guardians, educators, and other persons supporting children and adolescents with information on what is gender-affirming care and why it is important to transgender, nonbinary, and other gender expansive young people's well-being." Gender-affirming care is a phrase used by transgender activists and media to mask the more grisly sounding transgender top and bottom surgeries, including removing a biological women's breasts, removing a biological man's genitals, sculpting a fake penis on a biological woman, facial feminization or facial masculinization, and more.

BEST OF THE WEB: US veteran who volunteered to fight for Ukraine describes 'suicide mission'
An American volunteer for Ukraine tells The Grayzone how his foreign legion tried to use him as cannon fodder. A decade after Henry Hoeft joined the US Army at age 18, he was back on the battlefield, but this time as a volunteer for a foreign military engaged in a proxy war against a powerful foe. After answering the Ukrainian government's call for foreign fighters this February, however, the American veteran quickly decided he was being sent on a "suicide mission" against the Russian military. After escaping with his life, claiming his own allies had threatened to shoot him in the back, Hoeft posted a viral message advising other Westerners against joining the fight in Ukraine. Within days, he was at the center of a global information war, with the military for which he had volunteered publicly branding him a Russian agent.

CIA veteran who signed Hunter Biden laptop letter says he sarcastically claimed credit for 2020 election
A longtime CIA veteran who signed the infamous letter baselessly asserting Russian involvement in the Hunter Biden laptop saga said he was proud to have played his part in influencing the 2020 election in favor of President Joe Biden — before backtracking and claiming he was being sarcastic when he became embroiled in a Twitter spat with Donald Trump's ex-intelligence chief. John Sipher retired in 2014 after a 28-year career in the CIA's National Clandestine Service, and he is one of the dozens of former intelligence officials who claimed the laptop story "has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation." Sipher, a longtime defender of Christopher Steele's discredited dossier, is now a co-founder of Spycraft Entertainment and a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council.

The media avoided the ties between Joe Biden and Hunter's laptop
Wonders never cease. First the New York Times. Then CNN. Now the Washington Post has caught up with the Hunter Biden laptop story — only 18 months after the New York Post broke the scandal, and too late for the 2020 election. But now, after our story was censored by Big Tech and dismissed as "Russian disinformation" by Democratic prevaricator Adam Schiff, and 51 former spooks led by former CIA Director John Brennan, apparently it's safe to admit the laptop is real and the emails we published can be easily authenticated. Of course, they all avoid the inevitable conclusion to be drawn from evidence contained on the laptop that the president's drug-addled son Hunter abandoned at a MacBook repair shop in Delaware in April 2019: that Joe Biden, when he was vice president, was aware of, and intimately involved in, a corrupt, multimillion-dollar, international influence-peddling scheme run by Hunter, and Joe's brother Jim Biden, in the countries for which Joe was point man in the Obama...

Portland rioter who threw Molotov cocktails at police sentenced to 10 years in prison
An Indiana man has been sentenced to ten years in prison for participating in a riot in Portland, Oregon in 2020 during which he threw Molotov cocktails at police officers. Malik Muhammed pleaded guilty this week to 14 felony charges related to the Portland rioting and will have to pay $200,000 in restitution along with serving 10 years in prison, according to a statement from Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt. "On September 5, 2020, Muhammed constructed multiple Molotov cocktails. He then brought those explosive devices, along with baseball bats, to a planned protest event that evening at the East Portland Police Precinct Building," Schmidt's statement said. "During the event, Muhammed handed out the bats and threw multiple explosive devices in the direction of police officers. One of those devices landed short and caused a fiery explosion which engulfed a fellow protester in flames, causing severe injuries to that person's legs."

Five fetuses found at the home of anti-abortion activist in Washington DC
Police have discovered five fetuses at the home of an anti-abortion activist in Washington DC. DC police told WUSA9 that officers made the shocking discovery during a raid on a property in Capitol Hill on Wednesday afternoon, following a tip about potential bio-hazard material inside. The property is the home of Lauren Handy, the founder of anti-abortion group Mercy Missions who was indicted that same day over an incident where she and other activists stormed an abortion clinic, knocking over an employee and blocking people from entering the facility.

Escobar: Meet the New Resource-based Global Reserve Currency
A new reality is being formed: the unipolar world is irrevocably becoming a thing of the past, a multipolar one is taking shape It was something to behold. Dmitri Medvedev, former Russian President, unrepentant Atlanticist, current deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, decided to go totally unplugged in an outburst matching the combat star turn of Mr. Khinzal that delivered palpable shock and awe all across NATOstan. Medvedev said "hellish" Western sanctions not only have failed to cripple Russia, but are instead "returning to the West like a boomerang." Confidence in reserve currencies is "fading like the morning mist", and ditching the US dollar and the euro is not unrealistic anymore: "The era of regional currencies is coming." After all, he added, "no matter if they want it or not, they'll have to negotiate a new financial order (...) And the decisive voice will then be with those countries that have a strong and advanced economy, healthy public finances and a...

Germany struck by snow and frost as wintry temperatures return
According to the German Weather Serivce (DWD), both high and lower-altitude regions saw heavy snow, with parts of the motorway in North Rhine-Westphalia needing to be de-iced. On Friday afternoon, more snowfall was expected in central and southern Germany, particularly in the regions surrounding the Alps. In the northern half of the country, temperatures in the low single-digits and windstorms were forecast. Slippery roads are also possible again due to the snow and ice. A spokesperson for the German Weather Service told DPA that people in the coldest areas should drive with caution. In Baden-Württemberg, fresh snow fell in the Black Forest and the Swabian Alps on Friday morning and is set to continue into the weekend.

NYT painted Matt Gaetz as a child sex trafficker. One year later, he has not been charged
On March 30 of last year, The New York Times published an article that was treated as a bombshell by the political class. Citing exclusively anonymous sources — "three people briefed on the matter" — the Paper of Record announced that Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) "is being investigated by the Justice Department over whether he had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old and paid for her to travel with him." The headline chosen by Times editors was as inflammatory and provocative as possible: "Matt Gaetz Is Said to Face Justice Dept. Inquiry Over Sex With an Underage Girl." The paper, high up in the article, emphasized what grave crimes these were: "The Justice Department regularly prosecutes such cases, and offenders often receive severe sentences." The article was extremely light on any actual evidence regarding Gaetz, instead devoting paragraph after paragraph to guilt-by-association tactics regarding "a political ally of his, a local official in Florida named Joel Greenberg, who was...

Biathlon coach explains why he rearranged French flag into Russian one
French biathlon coach Simon Fourcade has said it is "counterproductive" to ban Russian and Belarusian athletes from international competition, explaining why he made a gesture of support at the Junior World Championships in America. A member of the Russian team, Yuri Batmanov explained this week how Fourcade had glued a Russian flag onto one of the wax booths at the event Soldier Hollow back in February after Russian national symbols had been removed in the wake of a decision by the International Biathlon Union (IBU). According to Batmanov, Fourcade had used a cut-up French flag and rearranged it into Russian colors before applying it to the wax cabin where equipment is treated. The image had been shared at the time by Russian team doctor Aishat Erkenova.

Meet the Americans coordinating bioweapons research in Ukraine labs
Amid its ongoing special operation in Ukraine, Russian forces discovered US-operated biolabs in the country carrying out dangerous pathogen research. While Washington initially tried to deny their existence, they later confirmed it, but claimed the labs' activities were unremarkable. The Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) revealed new documents on Thursday that had been seized by Russian forces in eastern Ukraine, including correspondences between American financier Hunter Biden - the son of US President Joe Biden - and figures involved in biological research in Ukraine, which an investment firm of his helped to bankroll.

Study finds Joe Biden got 255,000 'excess' votes in fraud-tainted swing states in 2020
President Biden received hundreds of thousands of "excess" votes in Democratic-controlled areas in the 2020 election, according to an academic study on voter fraud that suggests the push to relax voting standards created new opportunities for electoral mischief. John R. Lott Jr., the man behind the research, teased out those numbers by comparing Democratic-dominant areas to Republican-dominant places over the past two presidential elections, particularly in places where claims of election fraud were reported in 2020. Looking at six swing states, the data he crunched found that voter turnout in Republican areas increased from 2016 to 2020 while voter turnout among Democrats dropped — except in places where voter fraud was claimed. That accounted for 255,000 "excess" votes for Mr. Biden above what would be expected, Mr. Lott said. His paper has been accepted for publication in Public Choice, a peer-reviewed journal specializing in the intersection of economics and political science.

Latvia bans 'V' and 'Z' after honoring SS
The parliament of Latvia has adopted a law banning the display of the letters 'Z' and 'V' in public, saying the symbols used by Russian troops in Ukraine stand for glorifying aggression and war crimes. The former Soviet republic, now an EU and NATO member, acted after the government in Kiev called for the censorship of the symbols. Latvia officially bans symbols glorifying Nazi or Communist regimes, except when used for "educational, scientific or artistic purposes." That has not stopped annual marches honoring Latvian members of the Waffen-SS. Around 200 people gathered in Riga on March 16 to honor Hitler's collaborators, after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The local parliament used an urgent procedure to vote on Thursday on amendments prohibiting displays of "military aggression and war crimes" at public events. The law also says no permits for public events will be given if they are held within 200 meters of monuments commemorating the Soviet Army in Latvia....

Hubble telescope reveals the most distant star ever detected
The most distant star — or possibly pair of stars — that astronomers have ever seen was just revealed thanks to the Hubble telescope and a massive cluster of galaxies. Far from Earth, the universe bends around the vast bulk of a galaxy cluster, creating a gravitational lens in spacetime much like the curved lens in a magnifying glass. Like a magnifying glass, it revealed something small and hidden: a star system from the early universe. The far-away star system takes the official name WHL0137-LS, but the astronomers who found it nicknamed it "Earendel" from the Old English word meaning "morning star" or "rising light." Earendel system as we're seeing it today was shining within just 900 million years of the Big Bang, according to the authors of a new paper in the journal Nature describing the discovery. Fully 12.8 billion years passed before that light reached the Hubble Space Telescope, magnified by a lucky trick of gravity to appear as a tiny smudge of photons on Hubble's image...

Biden's DOJ going after states that protect minors from genital mutilation
Following the passage of laws banning genital mutilation surgeries and the prescribing of cross-sex hormones for minors seeking to transform into the opposite sex, the Department of Justice has announced that it has sent letters to state attorneys "reminding them of federal constitutional and statutory provisions that protect transgender youth against discrimination." "The Department of Justice is committed to ensuring that all children are able to live free from discrimination, abuse and harassment," said Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke for the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division in a press release. "Today's letter reaffirms state and local officials' obligation to ensure that their laws and policies do not undermine or harm the health and safety of children, regardless of a child's gender identity," she added.
