Ein Film von 2005 genannt "V wie Vendetta" handelt von einer totalitären Diktatur die die Macht erlangt, indem sie einen angeblichen Virus verbreiten. In dem Film pushen die Medien die angstbasierte Propaganda über den Fernseher in jeden Haushalt und in der Öffentlichkeit. Der autoritäre Diktator verspricht Sicherheit aber keine Freiheit. Das konstante Thema "das ist für eure Sicherheit" wird den ganzen Film über wiederholt.

Der Film endet mit der Gesellschaft die aufwacht und das korrupte, faschistische Regime ist zerstört.
