The technological system's foundation to ensure its survival is built on self-propegating systems that propegates itself either by increasing in size and power, or by creating similiar systems that possess its own traits.
The technological system in the near future will have no more need for humans to support technological progress. Technology WILL separate itself from human control and influence and transition into a completely self-propelling entity that acts after its own best interest. For example, if humanity is seen as an threat against technological development, technogical systems may get rid of us. This is is an incredibly dangerous scenario that we must be ready to face, because it is inevitable.

In half a century, wildlife populations are estimated to have plummeted by 73%. Many species are going to go extinct, and there are going to be massive consequences folllowing. It will cause a ripple effect, because the extinction of an animal species is not an isolated event, it triggers a cascade of consequences that significantly disrupts ecosystems.
