Here are some of the best keyboard shortcuts for using SolidWorks on Windows 10. These shortcuts can help you navigate, model, and design faster by reducing the need to switch between the keyboard and mouse frequently.

1. View Shortcuts

Space: Opens the View Orientation menu.

Ctrl + 1: Front View

Ctrl + 2: Back View

Ctrl + 3: Left View

Ctrl + 4: Right View

Ctrl + 5: Top View

Ctrl + 6: Bottom View

Ctrl + 7: Isometric View

Ctrl + 8: Normal To (aligns the view normal to the selected face or plane)


2. Selection and Manipulation

Ctrl + Drag: Copy a feature or sketch.

Alt + Drag: Constrains dragging movement (to an axis or plane).

Ctrl + Shift + Z: Redo last undone action.

F2: Rename an item in the Feature Tree.


3. Sketching Shortcuts

L: Line

S: Shortcut Toolbar (customizable, offers quick access to frequently used tools)

D: Quickly brings focus to the Dimension tool.

E: Eraser tool (deletes entities in sketches)

Ctrl + R: Rebuild the sketch or model.

4. Feature Shortcuts

E: Extrude Boss/Base

Shift + E: Extruded Cut

D: Dimension (places dimensions in sketches and drawings)

G: Toggle magnifying glass

5. General Productivity

F: Zoom to fit (fits the model in the viewing window)

Ctrl + Tab: Cycle through open documents in SolidWorks

Ctrl + B: Rebuild (rebuilds all features)

Ctrl + Q: Forced Rebuild (rebuilds the entire model)


6. Measurement and Inspection

M: Measure (opens the measurement tool)

Ctrl + Shift + P: Show or hide planes


7. Customizing Shortcuts

S: Opens the shortcut bar, where you can customize frequently used commands.

F10: Show or hide command manager.

F11: Full-screen mode (for a distraction-free view)


These shortcuts can be customized further by going to Tools > Customize > Keyboard in SolidWorks. You can also create macros to automate repetitive tasks for even more efficiency.
