Tip of the day: When creating a mold in SolidWorks, don't forget to use the "Mirror" feature to save time and ensure symmetry in your design. Simply select the components you want to mirror, click "Features" and select "Mirror." This will create a copy of your selected components on the other side of the mold. This is a great time saver and helps to ensure that your mold is perfectly symmetrical, reducing the potential for errors and saving time in the long run. Hello Solidworks Electrical users,
As an experienced engineer, I've found that sometimes the most effective tips and tricks are the ones that are a little "out of the box." With that in mind, I wanted to share a few more unique tips that I've found to be helpful in my work with Solidworks Electrical.
Use the "pin" tool to keep frequently used symbols easily accessible: If you have a few symbols that you use frequently, consider using the "pin" tool to keep them easily accessible. Simply right-click on the symbol and select "pin" to add it to the pinboard. This can save you a lot of time searching for commonly used symbols.
Create your own custom toolbars: While Solidworks Electrical offers a lot of customization options, you may find that you want to create your own custom toolbar with just the tools you need most often. To do this, simply right-click on an existing toolbar and select "Customize." From there, you can add or remove tools and create your own custom toolbar.
Use the "Replace symbol" feature to quickly update symbols: If you need to update a symbol throughout your project, the "Replace symbol" feature can be a real time-saver. Simply select the symbol you want to replace, right-click, and select "Replace symbol." Then, choose the new symbol you want to use, and Solidworks Electrical will automatically update all instances of the old symbol throughout your project.
Utilize the "project navigation" pane: The project navigation pane is a great tool for quickly navigating through your project. You can use it to jump to specific sheets, symbols, or other elements, and it can save you a lot of time searching for specific items.
Use the "duplicate project" feature to save time on similar projects: If you have a project that's similar to one you've worked on in the past, consider using the "duplicate project" feature to save time. This will create a new project with all the same settings and components as the original, allowing you to quickly get started on the new project without having to start from scratch.
I hope these tips are helpful to you as you work with Solidworks Electrical. Do you have any unique tips or tricks of your own to share? Let us know in the comments!

Some advises from AI:
Custom Keyboard Shortcuts:
SolidWorks comes with default keyboard shortcuts, but it also allows users to create custom shortcuts to make modeling faster and easier. To create a custom shortcut, go to Tools > Customize > Keyboard tab. From there, you can assign any command to a key or key combination.
Save Selection as a Named View:
If you frequently work with complex models, you may find it helpful to create a named view. A named view allows you to save a specific camera position, zoom level, and rotation. To create a named view, set up the view you want to save, then go to View > Modify > Named Views. From there, you can save the view and give it a name.
Copy Settings Wizard:
If you use SolidWorks on multiple computers or need to reinstall it, you can use the Copy Settings Wizard to transfer your settings. To use this feature, go to Tools > Save/Restore Settings > Copy Settings Wizard. From there, you can choose which settings to transfer and where to save them.
Custom Templates:
SolidWorks templates are useful for starting new designs, but you can also create your own custom templates. To do this, start a new document and set it up with the settings you want to use for future designs. Then go to File > Save As and choose "Part Template" or "Assembly Template" from the "Save as type" drop-down menu.
Macro Recording:
SolidWorks allows users to record macros that can automate repetitive tasks. To start recording a macro, go to Tools > Macro > Record. Then perform the actions you want the macro to repeat. When you're finished, go to Tools > Macro > Stop Recording. You can save the macro and assign it to a toolbar or keyboard shortcut for easy access.
Custom Properties:
Custom properties are a way to add information to a SolidWorks model, such as part numbers, descriptions, and material properties. To create custom properties, go to File > Properties > Custom. From there, you can add new properties and assign values to them.
Assembly Visualization:
If you work with large assemblies, the Assembly Visualization tool can help you identify and manage components. To access this feature, go to Tools > Assembly Visualization. From there, you can sort components by various criteria, such as file size or number of instances, and make changes to multiple components at once.
Design Checker:
The Design Checker tool allows you to check your designs against industry standards or your own custom checks. To use this feature, go to Tools > Check > Design Checker. From there, you can select which standards or checks to use and run the check on your model.
Feature Freeze:
If you want to prevent a feature from being edited or deleted, you can use the Feature Freeze tool. To freeze a feature, right-click on it in the FeatureManager design tree and choose "Freeze." The feature will be grayed out and cannot be modified until you unfreeze it.
Hole Wizard:
The Hole Wizard tool is a powerful feature that allows you to create standard or custom holes in your designs. To access this tool, go to Insert > Features > Hole Wizard. From there, you can choose from a variety of hole types and customize their dimensions and placement.
