Rosa camuna continued

The Rosa camuna, while commonly associated with the Val Camunica region, is not limited to there.

1.) The original Swastika Stone of West Yorkshire, UK. Its exact age is unknown, possibly Neolithic but most likely Iron Age construction
2.) Guifões Stone of Portugal. Some researchers believe this was imported from Val Camunica, although this is based solely on its similarity, and could have been made de novo.
3.) Celtic (Gaulish) coin found in northern France, circa 1st century B.C.

There is also a number of examples of this swastika found in churches in England, including the so-called Woden’s swastika in the Sutton church in Bedforshire. In addition, an example of this symbol found among the Bohuslän rock carvings of Sweden, although an original image can not be found at this time. But this would link this symbol to the Nordic Bronze Age civilization.

On the Practical Aspects of Devotion and Prayer to the Thunderer

This work is a modest compilation of some source material on the God known as Thor to the Norsemen. My hope is this work provides a good 101 for the new heathen, as well as to provide sources for what we do know of this incredibly popular God.

Grímnismál Stanza 37 (Old Norse)
37. Árvakr ok Alsviðr þeir skulu upp heðan
svangir sól draga;
en und þeira bógum fálu blíð regin,
æsir, ísarnkol.

Bellows Translation:
37. Arvak and Alsvith | up shall drag
Weary the weight of the sun;
But an iron cool | have the kindly gods
Of yore set under their yokes.

Gylfaginning XI (Prose Edda)
But the gods were incensed at that insolence, and took the brother and sister, and set them up in the heavens; they caused Sun to drive those horses that drew the chariot of the sun, which the gods had fashioned, for the world's illumination, from that glowing stuff which flew out of Múspellheim.

Nordic Bronze Age (1400 BCE)

What we see here is a continuity of cosmology of almost 3,000 years. The Poetic Edda contains Divine and ancient wisdom and should be treated with intense study.

The Celtic Gods of the Iberian Peninsula : Part 1- Introduction - Bandua

https://telegra.ph/The-Celtic-Gods-of-the-Iberian-Peninsula-part-1-07-20

This series of articles will limit itself to presenting the deities of the Iberian Peninsula, by focusing on the Indo-European pantheon, most of the data concerning it coming from the north-central-northwestern axis, that is, the Celtic Hispania, inhabited by several peoples including the Lusitanians

"He is therefore a warrior God, not confining himself only to the battlefield but fighting against everything that threatens the community, invasions, diseases, catastrophes, the dissolution of community life... A unifying, apotropaic God."

Venus Callipyge | Aphrodite Kallipygos
2nd century BCE
Venus Callipyge is a Roman statue produced in the 2nd or 1st century BCE, and thought to be a reproduction of an earlier Greek statue of the Hellenistic Period, originally made from Bronze. The name Venus Callipyge (from Greek Καλλίπυγος "Kallipygos") literally means 'Aphrodite of the beautiful buttocks'.
The Great Lunar Cycle: The Horse Twins and the Grail (All Parts)

https://taliesinsmap.blogspot.com/2020/09/the-great-lunar-cycle-horse-twins-and.html?m=1

The full Lunar Cycle article complied in one post.

This article answers the questions of who Njörðr, Freyr and Bragi are in terms of Indo-European comparativism (also discussing numerous others), who their Irish and Welsh parallels are, who the Grail quester Perceval is, and what the significance of his quest is.

Furthermore, it shows that the “Aesir-Vanir War” appears in some form in nearly every branch, and lays out clearly its details in several of the branches.

In all, these are essential things to understand about the European gods for everyone who studies them. Understanding these things correctly is of the utmost consequence to our understanding of both the sacred liquid and the sacrifice itself.

“On this day 19 years ago, 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning. 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift. None of them saw past 10:00am Sept 11, 2001. In one single moment life may never be the same. As you live and enjoy the breaths you take today and tonight before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted.” @worthfightingfor_telegram
The Celtic Gods of the Iberian Peninsula: Part 2 - Reue/Reo

"The link between these columns dedicated to Jupiter and the watery zones is perfectly conceivable without minimizing his position in the divine hierarchy or implying that the god had characteristics belonging to the "healing" deities. In fact, scenes carved in the upper parts of the columns contained a horseman who, in the guise of Iuppiter, charges a serpentine-shaped monster..."

Late Bronze Age Germanic fibula (brooch for holding together garments), dated between 900-700 BCE. Original found in Funen, Denmark, the artifact is now housed in the National Museum in Denmark.

The object, which is bronze with gold covering, is though to depict the Sun and the Moon on each of its 2 parts, in accordance with the prominence of the celestial bodies during this period.
————————————————
“The sun, the sister of the moon, from the south
Her right hand cast over heaven's rim;
No knowledge she had where her home should be,
The moon knew not what might was his,
The stars knew not where their stations were.”

The Celtic Gods of the Iberian Peninsula : Part 3 - Arentio - Arentia

https://telegra.ph/The-Celtic-Gods-of-the-Iberian-Peninsula--part-3---Arentio---Arentia-07-27

The collective memory of a people and their similarity to their gods and goddesses, as superior reflections of the people they brought into the world, are primordial concepts in European paganism.

"...it is probable that they can be considered as founding figures by the Lusitanians[...] protectors of individuals, families or entire tribes, helping on the battlefield, they resonate with the Vedic Aśvins, the Lithuanian Ašvieniai and the Greek Dioskouroi."

Rosa Camuna response by European Tribalism channel

Hello all,
Recently, the channel European Tribalism - Mythology, European culture, survival (https://t.me/EuropeanTribalism) made a post detailing an alleged mistake in previous post of mine regarding the Rosa Camuna, a variant of the swastika. Specifically, the assertion:

I think their assumption of that symbol being solely of Indo-European origin might be flawed.

https://t.me/EuropeanTribalism/617

I would simply like to point out that I never made this claim, and very specifically in my original post make it clear the symbol is associated with the Camunni people, and later I state the origin of these people is unknown, and that their language is insufficiently known to be classed as “Old European or Indo-European”. Here, Old European refers to the descendants of the Neolithic farming peoples present in Europe before the arrival of Indo-European people. The insinuation here is that it was possibly used by a pre-Indo-European people of Europe, although perhaps I should have been more clear in my wording.

https://t.me/solarcult/569
https://t.me/solarcult/572

However I would like to thank the folks at European Tribalism for taking the time to read the posts and for fact-checking them. The majority of us within the pagan community here on Telegram are amateur historians, and this sort of work is very important so-as to not spread misconceptions and falsehoods about our ancestors, who we value dearly. We welcome any and all feedback in this regard.

Hail to the folks at European Tribalism and give them a sub if you haven’t already (link above), they run a great channel!

Turkic Mythology and influence from Indo-European Mythology

In this article I give a basic overview of the mythology and deities of Turkic peoples. I discuss their possible influence and mixture with Europeans as well. Hopefully this clears some of the confusion with Turks and brings to light their mythology.
